Wooow, the mods are going to be ashamed of themselves when they realize it's been two months and no one has moved this thread to Drug Culture.

Anyway, when I trip out I'm all about Zappa.

anyone heard Acid Mother's Temple or Taj Mahal Travellers? That's some trippy stuff!

Didn't Zappa never use drugs? I feel that doesn't necessarily mean he didn't ever trip (some will insist he never did), but the fact that he might have been against it has prevented me from listening while tripping.

Yeah man, Zappa never did drugs. I thik if he had, he would've had no problem fessing up about it.

Still great tripping music. It's a journey every time.

Hey, that reminds me- How's about some JOURNEY! Bahaha... j/k Maybe "Wheel In The Sky". That might get deep...

Acid Mothers Temple is some crazy stuff, but I really like it. Sometimes a little harsh, but there's so many albums and 'side-project' type things its easy to find something for the situation.

acid mothers temple truly are great.

i highly recommend gong as well. the radio gnome invisible trilogy is magnificent.

giobia is another one of my favorites i've gotten into in the past year or so since i first heard them.

hawkwind are simply amazing as well. their live shows are pretty incredible.

I'll also recommend eloy, amon duul II, arzachel, brainticket, secret saucer, negative zone, steve hillage, the other window, the spacious mind, yatha sidhra and porcupine tree.

greg packer, pendulum, armin van burren, MIKE, markus shultz.. get some really trippy sounds with varying frequency noises.. not single pulse frequencies.. weirds you out quickly..

On a good trip, any music is good. 5 of my favorites are:

1. Pink Floyd- Dark Side Of The Moon...preferably sinced to The Wizard Of Oz
2. Incubus- The Fungus Amongus
3. Incubus- S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
4. Any Aphex Twin
5. KMFDM- WWIII...can be too angry sometimes, but other times, its the perfect music.

Maximum music intesity guide

1. Dont use any drugs for two weaks, download many new tunes that are very good, but dont listen them to the end, just that you will know it will be good music. In this two weaks, listen music with lower volume than normaly, last 4 days dont listen to any music.

2.Eat your psychedelic, before it kicks in,clear your ears with multiple ear sticks and warm water to get all earwax out.Think about music, play that bits of new tunes that you heard in your mind, image how happy you will be when you listen them.

3. Wait for the peak.Take a little exercise to make blood flowing better.

4. When peak starts, smoke some weed... the more you smoke, the better music will be but remember than panic attack isnt funny thing.

5. Prepare the audio and set most anticipated tune.Set the volume to normal level.

6. Sit in lotus position and breath deeply and slowly, concentrate on breath and your hearing.Little sounds of people walking on street, neiborhood filling the cap with watter, birds singing outside, neiborhood closing doors... you know what I mean. This should make your hearing even stronger.Do it for 3-5 minutes.

7. Now stand up and turn your internal dialogue. This is very important becose mind with its internal dialogue is very noisy,I remember that on my 600mcg trip I put on some music and after 5 minutes of music playing I realised that I didnt listened it!! All my atention was carried away from music by crazy, noisy, internal dialogue. Its all about concentration, free your mind form itself.

8. Now play the music, concetrate on every single note... geometry of sounds... try to visualize it.You can travell to different parts of music... lowest sub-bass layer is hardest to hear but definately most amazing! (20-50hz)

9. Dance! It is much better with feeling rhythm with your body & mind than just mind.

Preloading with piracetam and high doses of psychedelics works well.Really, saturate those receptors.Caffeine, nitrous and poppers are your friend in hunt for audio intensity.

To the OP: Ignore the plethora of posts telling you what to listen to when tripping. Instead, listen to the music you already love and it will be a million times better. :)

The one, the only: The Grateful Dead

+99999

Listen to the music you like. (as long as it's not hardcore/extreme/scary as hell =D )

Seriously. Like psyco said, you'll learn to appreciate the music you love even more. But then, also try out some new stuff, as you will learn to appreciate that more as well. It's all great stuff and things.

Listening to old school stuff on vinyl can be cool while tripping, but having to flip the records gets kinda old. MGMT is some pretty sweet stuff to listen too as well. I've also got to confess I'm a total phish head and have been known to make my friends listen to shows in their entirety while on psych's. Definitely awesome, but nothing compared to frying at an actual show. Easily one of my favorite things to do. Hard to go wrong with the beatles or led zeppelin as well.

You are right, when I am going to trip,my mp3 player is filled with tunes I love and those that I didnt heard whole. For me,there is nothing better than hearing some proper dancefloor tune first time on high dose trip.

If you listen older music like The Grateful Dead,Beatles... and there is nothing new to listen, its best to listen that tunes you didnt listened long time.
