Yep. One of my friends who is so totally into like classic progressive rock and all that (which I also love) just despises techno, or thinks he does.

But I like alot of it (i.e., Orbital) and some of the minimal techno tripping... its like it creates a rhythmic architectural structure that puts you into a trance; the clean clear isolated lines each become so intensely vivid and powerful like mental plasma beams!

Tool. :D

I like Radiohead's OKComputer a lot.

And lots of postrock music. Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Yndi Halda...

Though I trip with them less, Porcupine Tree is a good band.

Mostly styles of dance and trance, and there's two particular songs that are amazing to me on dissociatives:

Usura & Datura — Infinity
Tiësto — Nyana

One particular DXM trip had the latter song shooting lightning bolts across the ceiling to the rhythm. :D

I'd love to watch Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same DVD on a future trip. :)

FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON! Seriously... maybe some 'Liquid' Jungle would be good (chilled and ambient subgenre), purely jungle though, not more up-to-date drum and bass. LTJ Bukem made some wicked tracks.

I am very much into electronic music, so here goes my my favorite tripping albums:
Venetian Snares - "Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding" and "Songs About My Cats"
Shpongle - "Nothing Lasts" (I think this is their best one)
Dub Trees - Nature Never Did Betray The Heart That Loved Her (Also with S. Posford from Shpongle)
Monolake - Cinemascope
Shulman - In Search Of A Meaningful Moment
Ozric Tentacles - "The Yumyum Tree" (this is actually psychedelic rock, but there's alot of electronic inspiration and filtered synth lines)

Shrooms make me crave west coast gangsta hiphop like "The Chronic" by Dr. Dre and such. That's actually quite peculiar as I don't see how ghetto hip hop goes along with the shrooms vibe. Works for me though.

You have described exactly what I feel like when Mipping (minimal tripping lol) perfectly! =D

I like listening to psychedelic beatles songs like i am the walrus, lucy in the sky with diamonds, some good old pink floyd also does the job..

Lettuce. The funky jazz goes perfectly with the intensely changing visuals.

Also The Breakfast is an all time classic band for getting your face melted8o

I had the great fortune to hear LIQUID BLOOM - SHAMAN'S EYE on Ayahuasca recently.

Deeply trance-inducing, heart-chakra activating, thick heavy jungle shaman vibes... if this sounds appealing to you then you will find it worth the effort to track down this album!

One of my favorite artists to listen to is Bluetech, it is just fascinating to listen to when high

YES YES! He is phenomenal and glorious. So is Solar Fields. Both have lots of albums available cheap for download at eMusic, btw... great service.

So many incredible suggestions... so much listening (and tripping =D ) I need to go do now! Keep 'em coming guys... what a bunch of true connoisseurs we have here <3

Here's another that will just blow you away and move you to the core in any state of mind... pure genius, a combination of mostly orchesgtral but some electronic sounds composed on his laptop, this is like Mozart or Beethoven was channeling thru the guy... just utterly WHOA

Eluvium (group)
Copia (album)

mainly trance.....ferry corsten, armin van buuren, dj tiesto, gouryella, crystal method

infected mushrooms are also pretty interesting

Shpongle is fantastic for tripping, particulairly with drugs that put you out of your mind space. It really depends on the energy though. I really enjoy dubstep and tietso when I'm feeling stimulated. MGMT is fantastic for post-peaks and Idioteque by Radiohead should be the theme song for being consumed by your mattress.
