Yup, it's beautiful. I spent a whole day listening to music yesterday (when I wasn't out the back looking at the garden :D ). Pink Floyd's Pulse live album, Orbital's Altogether and my extensive collection of trance provided me with HOURS of entertainment.
I'm gonna hafta do this again REAL soon.
 
god damn, i cant believe a majority of these responses. lsd is a gift from the gods, so appropriately, you should be listening to music that came from the gods......... bob marely, the grateful dead, pink floyd and so forth. music is the one true thing that alter or rearrange your perceptions on everything when sober, so when selecting music to listen to while on a magic carpet ride, hang on because they guitar will melt your soul and fly you to heaven :) trip on
 
a intresting sidenote
on mescalin music sounds distored and off.. instead of the beutiful music sound of lsd... on lsd u fly and dance between the trebel and bass.. u enter a new dimension.. of sound

I prefer music on shrooms rather than lsd but they are similar.....i didn't know mesicaline distorts music though, intersting cause i thought it would be like shrooms
the best music on lsd or shrooms is acid-trance , floyd, goa anythong with a naturally trippy organic sound......peace ....1

I have to disagree totally on that one man.. Pink Floyd is IMHO some of the best psychadelic music on earth. It doesn't have to be electronic to be awesome on drugs :)

BLACK SABBATH will rock ya arse off when your tripping,especially any of the first few albums,try Master of Reality or Paranoid -true acid music
Also The Tea Party arent called that for nothing,have a T in your tea

TOOL. Especially the live CD. Push it Shove it live is simply amazing and breath taking. Tool is by far one of the best bands ever, and i'm picky about my music selections. Tool is my Pink Floyd of today. Tool is my Pink Floyd of today
 
Try Mahler (4th or 9th Symphony).
"Mahler" means "painter" in German - and that's exactly like the music is ;-)
Or 4-th symphony by Tschaikowski. I always wondered what he was on when he wrote it.
Or The Six Motets by JS Bach. Acid makes you to ride on the notes, to fly along with the music.

Try making a graph in your head... for one dimension, volume. Another dimension, pitch. Ze 3rd dimension is the pitch of the waveform. The 4th dimension is the magnitude in the change of waveform.
I probably didn't explain that well. Oh well. Its fun to watch. Yay. :)

Pretty much anything will be knocking your brain out of the stratosphere if you usualy enjoy it and it seems like a good idea at the time. Anything with texture, velocity and groove is good to go. Your brain will know what to do.
 
music while tripping

i was wondering what peoples thoughts were of the following music selection for three first timers on mushrooms (ive done acid once, and had no choice in the music etc). i've read that it can have a major impact on your trip.

i was thinking,

flaming lips - soft bulletin
flaming lips - yoshmii vs the pink robots

at the beginning (etc while eating/talking/waiting to come on/beginning of trip).

once they really start kicking in i was thinking somethign like

infected mushroom - the gathering.

im a little worried about this choice as the psytrance is a little dark. however it's the only fast psytrance i have. if you could think of someone that woudl be a bit lighter bust still fastish would be great.

then, while coming down

shopongle - are you shopongled
aphex twins - surfing on sine waves
jimi hendrix mix
 
+ I have heard Shpongle is a great choice, along with Infected Mushroom.

- I don't think you should trip to death metal, so keep that out of the way. :)

Psytrance is made for LSD and MDMA, so don't be worried at all about it.
Maybe you can listen to some Happy Hardcore or Hardstyle electronica?
