good to see you puting the new word to use...;)
Aye, I thought if I just quietly slipped it in there as though it was an actual bona fide word no one would notice!

(You'll have to forgive me the conceit, but this is pretty much the only original nearly useful idea I've had in over 38 years and I'm just enjoying the novelty whilst it lasts. 8))

Miles Davis is great!

I'm a BIG fan of they might be giants on acid! I've been listening to them since I was very little, and have such a deep admiration for them! And their lyrics are on par with Dylan's (In my opinion), only riddled with irony and wit. The albums Flood, Lincoln, and They Might be Giants are amazing! i recommend listening to flood for the first time on acid if you've never heard it/ I showed it to my friend once, who had never heard it, when he was having a difficult trip, and he cried! tears of joy! Just listen to the lyrics, because they seem so incoherent and make no sense at first. Then you think about them... then you realize they have no obvious influences.... then you realize all the layers of sound... then you realize these guys have probably never done acid before... Wow!

Also, the who's album Tommy... Amazing!

Incredible string band's alum the 5000 layers of the onions... also unbelievable! pure heart and soul on top of hyper talented guitar and sitar work

Otherwise Kettel, that is just beautiful melodic sentimental and genius.
Yeah! %)
Nothing better than some melodic electronica/idm/ambient on psychedelic.
some recommended albums

ambient
kettel-volleyed iron
stars of the lid-...and their refinement of the decline
fennesz/sakamoto-cendre
tim hecker-harmony in ultraviolet
blamstrain-disfold

electronica
kettel-through friendly waters, my dogan, ...
secede-tryshasla
ametsub-the nothings of the north
the flashbulb-kirlian selections
mrs jynx-the standoffish cat

(can you tell that I like the sending orbs label =D)

Shpongle is amazing on LSD and any other psychadelic, and the thing with music on LSD is the fact that everything sounds much more crisp and amazing, and more connected then sober, and also at higher doses, everything has a bzzzzz sound to it, and it's not like that, but more like a metallic warping pleasent bzzz sound, idk it's hard to explain but i get it when i do LSD mostly everytime, and also some more sounds you never heard before are added to music, it's amazing.

I don't know about acid, but some of my favourite songs to listen to when I'm stoned or have taken LSA (I'm a metalhead, but do listen to some other genres):

Acid Bath - Graveflower
Agalloch - In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion
Arcturus - Kinetic
Ayreon - The Shooting Company of Captain France B. Coco
Black Sabbath - Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath
Boris - Flood
Damian Wilson - Homegrown (love his voice... free download http://www.damianwilsonmusic.com/cosmas.htm, number 12)
Deadsoul Tribe - Just Like a Timepiece
Electric Wizard - Torquemada 71
Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness
In The Woods... - 299 796 km/s
Lost Horizon - Highlander (The One)
Nest - Moonbow
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Primordial - The Coffin Ships
Psychotic Waltz - Northern Lights (if that's not your cup of tea, try Into the Everflow)
Rush - Red Barchetta
Threshold - Sunrise on Mars
Ulver - Capitel I : I Troldskog Faren Vild (although virtually their whole catalogue is worth a look, despite its being extremely varied)

They are in alphabetical order, by band, as I scroll down a very extensive playlist of music to listen to when under the influence - I normally just put it on shuffle and get ready for the awesome ride (I have missed out many awesome songs, though). If you like any of those songs (and I do recommend trying them all, as they're all very different) then you'll most likely like all the songs off their respective albums (with some exceptions... like Acid Bath), and oftentimes by that band.

Best music to listen on Pot/DXM. And on other substances........... DXM is best with fluoxetine, somewhat good on venlafaxine(can get alice in wonderland size modifications), amitriptyline not worth trying, And not good on antipsychotics but plateau sigma is possible to achieve even on them.............

What...?:|

MF Doom - Pot holders,

for those of you who do not like rap, you can download the instrumental version. The instrumental version is what i listen to when trippin

Best music to listen on Pot/DXM. And on other substances.

Aphex Twis Classics is masterpaiece, Pfloam is unbelieveable, so is Phlange phace, analogue bubblebath and Metapharstic. Didgeridoo and Come to Daddy are RDJs more commercian tunes. And the Wa have Arrived's harshess to non-delevoped person is just afwul noise but for advanced listenes pleases in a way that "it's enough". And rhythms give pleasure that kind of chainings. It scares to be able think differently/better/difficultiemming but samely easily, because it's not normal thinking( i knew that alredy 1997 with DXM/pot, but it's easily forgettern). Syncronous thinking is also superior on DXM/pot, like suddenly everything would stop, but it goes on better and rhytms give continuings pleasure. And analysing music in that mind of state is easy and fun and intelligent. Candy eating for me stops the thinking processsed to session, but it's great amusement! :).

My favorite Aphex Twin albums are Drukqs and the Richard D James album. Some of the songs off Drukqs (Disc one is the best) like Omgyjya-Switch7, Vordhosbn, and Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount are some of the most incredible things I have ever heard.

Shpongle and the various related artists (Hallucinogen, Ott, Younger Brother, etc.) always does it for me, as far as electronic music goes.

But as for non-electronic music, I LOVE me some heavy psychedelic rock. Big, slow, droney, sludgy, syrupy guitars with hypnotic bass lines and fat lumbering tom-driven drums. Kyuss, OM, Colour Haze, Dead Meadow, Moccasin, Causa Sui, Mammatus, Bardo Pond, Leech, 35007, Pharaoh Overlord, La Ira De Dios, Daturah ... the kind of stuff that's too psychedelic to be doom metal but still slow and heavy enough to be comparable. Straight stoner/doom metal is awesome (Electric Wizard, Eternal Elysium, Zoroaster, Indian, Sleep, Acid King, UfoMammut, YOB, etc.) but my real preference is for the trippier stuff.

Tools album Lateralus is truely amazing on mushrooms or ketamine...

As I don't feel a separate thread for LSD & Music only this is transported to the general psychedelics and music thread. Sing ur song :D

I did LSD on thursday night/friday morning and music was a awesome for a while. It sounded very 3d, I could feel and see it. It's really hard to explain. Then towards the end of the trip the music got too much for me then. The other time I did LSD I loved music the whole way through... but it was just too much for me towards the end of the trip this last time.

Favorite trip music for LSD? What ever your favorite music is without LSD.

I completely agree. My friend kept trying to make me listen to some psytrance and it just didn't do it for me. Listen to what you enjoy.

I love listening to that stuff as well. Really really dig the new heavy psychedelic rock movement, if you can call it that and stoner / sludge stuff. Drone is also a favourite of mine but can be a bit too dark at times. Kyuss are one of my favourite bands.

I also really enjoyed listening to the fear and loathing soundtrack while tripping.
