I couldn't say for sure but I would doubt ketamine would cause any problems with an antibiotic. Haven't heard of or experienced any problems combining them but have never used that particular antibiotic. Check out the B&D Psychedelics and Medication Interactions thread in my sig - may have been mentioned in there somewhere. This thread may well be merged in with it should any further light be shed on the matter too :)
 
just took a look through that thread, nothing about antibiotics. found some info on ssri's, but i was already familiar with that.

trip results

I ate this shady pill that appeared to be cracked and have no powder besides a little a bit of brown powder caked to the side that was supposed to be foxy (5-meo-dipt). i doubted it would do anything but it was free so i decided why not. About 20-30 minutes later, i decided to dose 3 of the wow blotters i had. I went out to go shovel and sled in the snow, and within an hour i was tripping balls. harder than i ever have before off 3 hits. the visuals were strong for a good 6 -7 hours, which i was impressed with. overall a positive experience and there didnt seem to be any decrease in the effects because of pristiq.

Anyone have any other experiences to add, or any experiences with combining pristiq and shrooms? I would hate to have to quit psychedelics because of medications. I know people say i that if you have to take antidepressants you shouldnt trip, but i feel i am pretty careful and responsible about planning when i am in a good mood for tripping :p

yeah but the capsule was cracked and no powder fell out when opened it. i do realize that 20mg would be enough to cake the bottom of the capsule...but it was still strange
 
5 days later i took 6 hits and while i definitely still tripped, I dunno if it was as hard as i would have expected off of the same stuff I took 3 earlier. anyone else have any input or experience concerning effexor/pristiq and lsd. and how about mushrooms?
 
Effexor and LSD

I searched, I couldn't find a straight forward answer.

I am on effexor. Will I be able to trip on LSD? I have a hookup, it's just a matter of buying it, and I really want to try it, but I don't want to waste my money.

Anyone?
 
i am bit concerned - some people think it will block LSD, but then i read this post -

A few years ago, I was living with a roommate named SWIM that took effexor. He took one tab of blotter and had a profoundly more extreme experience than anyone else that was taking it. He had the tunnel vision effect and complete disconnection from reality at times. He thought the room we were in was an elevator that was going down, and he kept asking us all if we were in hell. Eventually he came to the conclusion that indeed we were, and I was the gatekeeper. He was red and sweaty, and unresponsive. It was an extremely intense experience just being in the room with him. I know that whenever he took effexor, he said he felt like he had taken uppers, so maybe it works a bit differently than other drugs intended for the same purpose. I know that it is not just an SSRI. It also inhibits reuptake of norepinephrine as well as dopamine, though to a lesser extent with dopamine. It's method of action, in fact, is still not really understood."
 
Well, I am told it probably won't do anything. But ya know what, fuck it. I will buy a couple of hits and see for myself. Worst case I got a bottle of valium here if things get too intense. If I get nothing out of it oh well, it's not like it's all that expensive.
 
buy it and stick it in the freezer. lucy isnt always so freely found.

when you arent taking meds, open up that freezer!
 
I really wouldn'y if I were you. It's an SNRI and when I accidentally combined LSD with an SNRI (Tramdol - different one but still an SNRI which is pretty darn similar) I got a rather vicious case of Serotonin Syndrome. Death would been preferable - really it would. Wouldn't wish that on anyone so I would strongly advise you not to take LSD with Effoxor still in your system.

Even 24 hours after a (low) tram dose I get some nasty overstimulation, overheating, plenty GI discomfort and even the odd brief dip into mild delirium again. Barely a fraction of taking it on the same day but always reminds me that SNRIs really, seriously clash with stims/psyches. Maybe not for everybody everytime but SS can easily be fatal so not a chance worth taking at all, in my opinion. Save those lil beauties till you're off your meds or skip 'em for 24 hours as a minimum, I'd suggest.
 
Well, I dropped 1 hit an hour ago. Drank 2 beers. Not really feeling anything (but I have never dropped acid before, so IDK what to expect). I was considering dropping the second hit but since your warning, I think I won't.

I am on 150mg of effexor, take it everyday. IDK if I will be stopping it anytime soon. Just sucks that all the good stuff clashes with SNRIs. Kinda BS. Wish I had known this before I started the SNRI in the first place.
 
Ok fuck it, I dropped the second hit. Now I will know for sure. I was told when I bought this to only drop one, because it's pretty strong stuff.

So after 2, it will either do nothing, or something. Fuck it, either way I know!

Edit: I have some oxy IR here too. Just wondering would that make things nicer...
 
Good luck. That's exactly what happened when I did just the same under very similar circumstance at lower doses. The SNRI meant the acid didn't kick in for a coupla hours then when it did, massive overheating, overstimulation, stripped naked, delirious, screaming in agony and several hours of non-stop convulsions and incontinence. Hope you're luckier than I was <3

Lol, wow! That's exactly what I'd wanna read while waiting for acid to kick on on an SNRI ;)
 
Ok, well ultimately maybe a mod will want to move this where it belongs. I asked a simple question and I guess now I am answering that question myself.

I have no experience with LSD, other than once when I had taken so much valium that it didn't count. So these observations are as honest as I can be.

I am on Effexor 150mg. This is my second week at 150, titrating from 37.5, by 37.5 each week. This will be week 6.

I dropped 1 hit of what was called "pretty strong" LSD 4 hours ago. A second hit 90 minutes ago. I have drank 4-5 beers in this same time frame.

Right now, acid doesn't seem all that different to me than a good alcohol buzz. I feel happy and energetic. I have to concentrate to type this. Visually things are... "wavy" I guess would be the best way to describe it. I am not seeing things that aren't there, but there is definately visual distortion. Other than this, notta.

Bottom line: I would say effexor stops an acid trip at least to the point where it's not worth tripping. I seriously feel like I ought to pop some oxy to get the night really rocking. If it wasn't for the "wavy" way things look, I wouldn't even know I was on acid.

As for shambles predictions of doom (I know bro, you're just giving your own experience, no disrespect intended) I really feel too good to mind. You could tell me I was dying of cancer right now and I wouldn't care. I guess that's an effect of the acid as well, but someone with more experience using LSD might be able to help me understand how euphoric this drug should be.
