Safe to take 2cb with prescription meds?

Hello cyberfriends!

Just curious... I have Fibromyalgia, which is well controlled with prescribed opiates (Duragesic patch + Oxycodone) generic Lyrica (Neurontin) and Lexapro (for depression, as well as pain control-or so my doc says...). Before I was diagnosed with Fibro, I had taken 2cb several times, and had a very positive experience every time. Well, an opportunity has come up for me to take 2cb again- and I wonder if it can be taken safely with the aforementioned medications? I would think that it would be, but I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure or has experience with this combination? I'm really looking forward to taking 2cb again, and I hope that it is plausible to do so safely. Thank you Bluelighters!

I'm a lazy fuck and I don't feel like looking up all those med types, but I've read that antidepressants can hamper or completely eliminate the activity of serotogenic psychedelics.

Opiates aren't a problem.

SSRI's can make psychedelics less effective in some cases but not all. I would probably wean a little on the Lyrica before tripping and if needed take a somewhat lower dose...

Okay, cool. Thanks for the info. The Lyrica isn't a big deal, I can take it or leave it for a couple days if need be, but my main concern were the opiates- I'm taking a LOT of them, and I can't NOT take them for a day or two, because, well, you know. So those were what I was/am mainly concerned with. Also, when you say take a lower dose, are you talking about the Lyrica that day, or the 2cb in general? It usually takes me about 35mg to get where I like to be...

mirtazapine, seroquel(quetiapine) and psychs

iv been on 30mg of mirtazapine along with 25mg quetiapine (for sleep disorders) nightly for about a year now. ever since i have been on these meds iv noticed the visuals of all psychs have been different. im just wondering if this medication is giving me a higher tollerence to psychs or if its just the fact that all trips are different and im in a different life situation now that is effecting my trips. im a very experienced tripper so i know it isn't tryptamine tollerence from taking them too regularly. i have lots of experience with acid, dmt, and phenelyamines.
The wierd thing is the effects of the trippy pheneths hasnt changed so im thinking its effecting my tryptamine tollerence.
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts,
also just had a thought, would i be in danger if i mixed dmt with an maoi and made a brew because of the mirtazapine. i dont want seratonin syndrome.

A friend of mine was on seroquel for a while and it significantly reduced his sensitivity to psychedelics.

I've been taking mirtazapine for about a month now and its definitely reduced my sensitivity to 2c-i. 20mg used to totally floor me, now it feels like maybe 12mg used to feel. I only take it a couple times a month so I doubt increased tolerance is a factor.

Hi all and thanks for your advice, I appreciate it despite my delayed response on this thread I just wanted to confirm that indeed I didn't have any bad interactions with any of my medicine. I was on the tail end of my bronchitis on this particular day and while it occasionally made me uncomfortable I had a room with blankets and a humidifier that I could rest in to make things more manageable. Thanks again!

Pristiq and LSD

Hey everyone I have some bomb tabs of Lucy that I am trying to take. Unfortunately, I was prescribed Pristiq 100mg a day (an SNRI similar to Effexor). I know the topic of antidepressants has been discussed countless times, but I have yet to find any solid info on whether or not Pristiq would decrease the acid effects. Any info or personal experience would be great

a lot of antidepressants will block acid/shrooms/mdma/mescaline/etc - and that doesn't mean it will be less - it means you could eat 5 bomb tabs and feel nothing... i have that deal with Zyprexa.. i will be interested to see how this thread goes..

i take pristiq and have taken lsd with really good results. i don't know if it lessens it at all, because i've never done lsd off pristiq, but the trip was pretty mind-blowing so it wasn't a significant decrease, if at all

Just finished taking azithromycin about 36 hours ago and am considering indulging in some ketamine tomorrow night. Will this be a problem or should I not worry about it?
