Low dose atypical antipsychotic with Morning Glory Seeds...is it possible?

I have a problem. I have morning glory seeds and I really want to use them. But, I'm on 2.5 mg of olanzapine per day (which I only use for sleep at this time). I have read that this medication will block any tryptamine-like substances instantly. :( Now, could I possibly just eat more seeds? Or would any amount of olanzapine block any amount of the seeds? It would be hard for me to stop it for more than 2 days since for some reason, when I don't take it, I get a constant gagging sensation that makes it hard for me to eat, and causes some vomiting each day until I redose myself again with the olanzapine. Does anyone have any advice they can give me? I wanna trip so bad but I don't know what to do! lol :) I would SO appreciate any help! Thanks!

Just to let you guys know in case I wasn't clear enough in my message, the real thing I'm getting at is tripping as soon as possible. My withdrawal from the olanzapine is not really a concern to me at this time. I say this because I've looked throughout this site and have read random threads and have seen how you all interact, and I have noticed that you Bluelighters are a caring bunch lol
 
^Howdy, I merged your post in here (obviously, otherwise we wouldn't be here). Hmm, I'm not overly familiar with olanzzapine (ie. I haven't had it) so I am uncertain, but needless to say- many antipsychotics do target seratonin too, and it would seem olanzapine does so rather specifically.

Either way, its not a wise move to discontinue a medication for the sake of other drugs.....do you mind me asking why your on it?
 
I was put on it originally for social anxiety and now I just use it to sleep, but I just never got off it because my body seems to have gotten so used to it that I have a hard time sleeping without it. It's pretty strange I guess, since I personally haven't heard of this happening. I guess it might be a common thing though

I have tried this combination, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. During the peak of the experience, I suffered very severe pain in my legs. Even when seated and not exerting myself, it felt like there were powerful electric shocks going through my thighs. This made me very worried about my physical state, and that is not a fun thing to have your mind on while tripping.

I was on 5mg of olanzapine at the time, and if I remember correctly, I took two packages of heavenly blue morning glory seeds.

I usually just lurk on BL, reading trip reports and such, but I finally registered so I could share my concerns about this combination. It did not feel fun or safe to me. Twisted and toxic would be much better words to describe my experience.

Olanzapine + LSD

One of my friends is on olanzapine and whenever he doses nothing happens.

I was just wondering if its due to the olanzapine and whether it has an application as a 'trip stopper'. It acts on 5-HT2 serotonin receptors, as does LSD, but the wikipedia page doesn't really go in depth about the pharmacological action of it.

Olanzapine is an antipsychotic. As such, it is definitely a total trip-killer... it will stop a trip in its tracks, like all antipsychotics. This is why your friend can't trip. I recommend using antipsychotics to kill a trip only as a VERY last resort, however... if a trip becomes physically dangerous to you or someone else. Not only are antipsychotics dangerous and very unpleasant, but aborting a trip in the middle can prevent it from working itself out, leaving you with whatever issues surfaced to cause the bad trip unresolved.
 
Ok, so I've looked through this whole freakin' thread, and I still can't find an answer to my question, which is this - does anyone know if it is safe to take 2C-E while on Wellbutrin? Or, failing that, does anyone have any first-hand experience with the combo?
 
^ I have taken both 2CB and 2CE with Wellbutrin, also LSD,MDMA,and quite a few others. I didn't feel any untoward effects, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't tread with a fair amount of care. The issue would be how much dopamine release is going on. Too much could lead to serious issues.
 
What kind of doses are you talking about with the 2C-E? Off the top of my head I was thinking a 10 mg starter, but that seems like it might be too much. I realize of course that correct dosage for you doesn't necessarily translate into correct dosage for me, but I'm curious to get a ballpark figure.
 
I believe it was 20ish mg of each, but it was a while ago, and a one-off thing, I don't honestly recall. For what it's worth I wasn't a big fan of 2C-E, and am not very experienced with either.
 
Warfarin interactions

Today I found out I have DVT, basically i have a deep-veined blood clot. The doctor prescribed me Warfarin. I've noticed from reading the little plamplit that comes with the prescription that there are a lot of things I should not take while on it. You know such things as alcohol, cranberries, etc. However it doesn't tell me whether or not of course it has interaction with such drugs that I use. For example I use marijuana, LSD, mushrooms, MDMA, 5-HTP, etc.

How safe is it use them while I'm taking the Warfarin pills for the next 3 to 6 months. I mean I'm starting college in less then 3 months. I'd like to be able to go out with friends smoke, or take the occasional psychedelic. Also I'd like to take 5-HTP on a daily basis, or atleast a few weeks before I roll.

Any help would be great.

I know I should probably talk to my doctor, but most of the time that doctor will be around me is when my parents around. Yeah I'm 18 and I can talk to the doctor alone in confidence, but I don't know how I'd get my parents out of the room to approach him on these subjects.
 
This is a very important question, and I am stumped. It's good to see that you are asking it, though, shows a lot of responsibility. Warfarin isn notorious as one of the drugs which interacts with the most other substances. I will be doing a little research in the medical literature that I have access to tomorrow. A blind guess would say that interactions are unlikely, but I would still tread extremeely caerfully, particularly with the MDMA. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some more concrete answers or someone else will chime in.

Yeah I know I have a condition that needs to be treated and I'm willing to do whatever to make sure that happens. However though I'd like to know if some things that I enjoy and also just recently purchased could be used in a few months (though still on the drug).

Really what I'd like to know the most is marijuana and LSD/mushrooms.

If worse comes to worse I can handle staying away for 6 months, even with the temptations of being at college.

One that annoys me that isn't drug related is that I will have to for go rock climbing till I get this sorted out and I'm off the drug.
 
Well your doctor has prescribed warfarin for its thrombolytic effect, the idea being to slowly dissolve the thrombus without breaking off pieces large enough to lodge in the cardiac arteries and cause an infarction.

So your concern is more with the DVT and drugs that may interfere with the warfarin action--my initial guess being strong vasodilators or constrictors. Of the group you've mentioned, MDMA would be the most likely to cause interference, albeit probably at higher doses if at all.

The rock climbing prohibition is a precautionary measure that also addresses the concern of breaking the thrombus up too quickly.

So see what SKL comes up with...this stuff is right up his alley. ;)

PS: Get the 'rents out of the examination room by telling the doc you've noticed little eight-legged creatures crawling through your pubes after having sex with the village whore--and you'd like a word with him alone. Works every time...

PPS: SKL knows all about that stuff, too... =D
 
Yeah i was thinking MDMA would be of the list.

I forgot to mention I enjoy smoking hookah and cigars every once and a while. Don't know if tobacco will be a probably.
 
You could check the pamphlet and see how related the substances that you you are planning on taking are. Just a thought.
 
so I talked to doctor who is going to perform surgery on me about some interactions. Basically said weed will have no interactions, and LSD could be bad due to the fact that you could injure yourself under the influence. I asked him about 5-HTP and he kinda laughed at the idea of me taking it. Basically he wasn't very pro drug at all...
