Lysergamides The Big & Dandy ETH-LAD Thread

I haven't given this one another go since May ..! I was pretty fond of it, I will try to take some for this New Year's Eve. Let's see if I can make it match my other plans :P
 
According to one major vendor, ETH-LAD and AL-LAD will both be discontinued by the only lab that produces them, and stocks of the last batch are expected to run out in mid-to-late 2017.

So in case you're still on the fence about trying ETH, you might want to drop some of your Christmas money on it sooner rather than later.

I wonder what that means for the chances of ever seeing mass-produced PRO-LAD though :?
 
No!! I received the same notice, this is really sad. We're very lucky to be around for a golden moment in history, and it looks like that door is closing on ETH and AL-LAD. Interesting they didn't mention that 1P-LSD or ALD-52 production will cease, because the wording made it sound like it was an issue with acquiring precursors or something. My fingers are crossed that they'll still put out a batch of PRO-LAD.
 
They aren't going to be producing 6-substituted LSD's any more because they're too hard to make, so PRO-LAD isn't coming, but they will continue making ALD-52 and 1P-LSD. PRO-LAD was supposed to come out months ago, but apparently they had problems synthing it.
 
This is not good news!
worrisome news.
1p is great and lovely, but al-lad and eth-lad are beauties - will be sad to lose them.
 
I've always been curious about the anticipation surrounding PRO-LAD. Any reason why it should be expected to be worthwhile?
Really sad to hear that this compounds won't be further produced, but in a way it makes me feel more grateful for having the chance to try them. Both of them are really special !
 
All of the other 6-subs have proven to be very interesting, and PRO-LAD is one step further in the sequence from LSD (METH-LAD) to ETH-LAD, so that's my reason for being super interested in it.

It's true that the reports in Tihkal aren't the most inspiring, but they aren't really discouraging either, and they've overlooked stuff before.
 
Forget Pro-lad. I inquired as soon as I received the email. This is the response:

"Hi,

PRO-LAD is very unlikely, sorry. N6 subs are just too tricky.

In TIHKAL, Shulgin stopped his experiments with ETH-LAD at 150 µg, i.e. still in the "Oh, it's kind of like a gentler LSD, with a higher visuals-to-mindfuck ratio" range. He never ventured into 200+ µg territory where ETH turns into a whole new experience - challenging but also potentially extremely rewarding.

Strangely enough I can't seem to warm up to AL-LAD, so I was really curious whether PRO would be closer to AL (because they're both 3-carbon-homologues) or ETH (because they're both saturated).

ALD-52 and 1P are comparatively easy to produce because what you do is essentially just to slap on an acetyl/propionyl chain onto the only nitrogen atom in LSD that still has space to accept it.

AL/ETH/PRO-LAD, on the other hand, require you to first remove a methyl group, then add an alkyl group in a tricky multi-step process. The yield is far lower, and the resulting molecule apparently even more prone to degradation than LSD, especially in solution.

So no, apparently there won't be any commercial PRO-LAD.

Still, I feel grateful to you-know-who for even bringing ETH and AL to the market, even if only for a short time.
 
Very glad ALD is here to stay (for now anyway) because damn if it isn't basically just the best LSD ever, but too bad about ETH and AL-LAD. I am going to have to stock up. Glad it's not just dropping off suddenly, as I can file my taxes early and get myself a little belated Christmas present, but not really a good idea for me to do it til then.

And damm skippy you are right about ald-52 being literally the best lsd expierence ever. Its so damn smooth its not manic and thought looping like lsd, it has a ecstasy like body high, really long legs and zero g.i issues. Literally everone who i have seen try ald52 says that it would be pretty hard for you to lose it and have a bad trip. Not saying it cant happen but ald 52 seens very forgiving mentally while being stunningly strong at the same time.
 
I must say that the most recent time I did ALD-52, I had that weird LSD gas pressure thing, after a few hours I felt like I had some farts that needed to get out, and it built and built, like the gas would just not come out. Felt like millions of tiny pockets of air were created that formed together into a painful mass. It became extremely painful eventually, for an hour or two it was all I could even think about, worst I have felt from a lysergamide (I've felt it before from both LSD and AL-LAD). It felt like I had to burp and fart but couldn't quite do it. Eventually I had a few farts that slowly released the pressure but it took a long time. I dealt with the pain for a while without it being a big deal but eventually it was all I could even think about.

Seems that the lysergamide gas-pressure thing happens every so often to me, usually it doesn't.
 
Different, definitely the same family, but different creatures. They're not like apples and oranges, more like plums and apricots.

I haven't tried ALD-52, so hopefully someone who can directly compare the two will pipe in. But ALD-52 is very similar to LSD, which I've done lots of. Compared to LSD, ETH-LAD is a bit more heart-centered, visual, calm, and can get way more zany as the dose increases. It lasts slightly shorter than LSD, and it seems to have a curious 2 tiered plateau, one following the other. This is all very subjective of course, YMMV.
