I felt like i was over heating during experiments with the first release batch of AL-LAD blotters. I never dosed any higher than one and a half tabs.
The sensation of overheating i experienced felt as if my core temperature was rising to an uncomfortable level though i never had a thermometer to hand to check my actual temperature at the time.
The overheating feeling would manifest towards the end of the plateau. The AL-LAD experience for me usually kicked in very quickly and i would be back to baseline within 6 hours. I have never felt like using it since my first experiments because of the overheating sensation i experienced, though i do still have some samples stored in deep freeze should i get the urge.
I am quite experienced with tripping having first tried LSD back in the early 1980's and then going on to try a different number of psychedelics over the years. The only other times i have had a feeling of overheating has been during some mescaline experiences after ingesting cactus preperations, but only a small number of these sessions resulted in a feeling of overheating and nowhere near the degree i felt with my AL-LAD experiences.
 
Wow...thanks , I'm glad that I'm not te only one...yeah i would like to know if this is the same type of hyperthermia that one would experience on MDMA? What does one do in this situation and just how dangerous is it? I'm surprized this issue has not been addressed before. Is this a symptom many psychedelics can produce or is it pretty limited to MDMA? Or phenethylamines ? What is the exact action of this? I noticed it only has happened only on my higher dosed trials so it seems dose dependant
 
Tryptamines make me cold really badly....but honestly I can't say there is a psych I've taken that doesn't....but trypts especially

Give me a 4 sub trypt and a hot tub please!!

Overheating seems worse with stimulants (like mdma, amphetamines, phenidates) than psychedelics. If it gets bad then of course it's dangerous, you can dehydrate, get heat stroke & it's possibly associated with neurotoxicity, in extreme cases it can kill. In that situation you try to cool yourself down, rehydrate yourself (drink some water & electrolytes like salt, but not too much), use water/ice on your skin, go somewhere cooler, etc. If you get so hot that it's making you feel ill then seek medical attention.

I often seem to get cold hands & feet on psychedelics, can't remember getting sweaty like on mdma, possibly too much dopamine/serotonin/adrenalin causes overheating. I think most psychedelics are serotonin agonists rather than releasers, but some do both. I guess AMT could increase body temperature as it's a triple releaser like mdma, maoi & psychedelic too, I only tried a threshold dose & noticed some increase in body temperature. I'm not sure how well studied al-lad is, if anybody knows exactly what it does.

Wiggling my fingers & toes or moving around seems to help the cold hands & feet. Weed sometimes helps with the body load, and it usually boosts trips, but it failed to do much when I took al-lad.

One of those grey 150ug al-lad blotters seemed almost inactive to me & mildly unpleasant. I didn't trip off it at all, I just got muscle tension, some stimulation, a small panic attack for about 5 minutes, dilated pupils, a slight sickly/weak feeling & that's all, didn't feel hot or anything, no visuals even eyes closed, no euphoria, couldn't even manage a giggle at a comedy on TV, I was higher before the al-lad from a small spliff. I know 'bad acid' is a controversial topic, it's probably some small impurity that caused the grey colour, the amounts would likely be too tiny on one 150ug blotter to do much or anything at all, but I didn't like it. It was possibly some tolerance from my bk-2c-b/5-meo-dalt binge that ended 9 days before, bad state of mind & a boring night in alone, but it didn't feel right to me at all, it was my first & only al-lad trip though. Some of the body load & slightly clouded thought continued for 24 hours, like a mild acid hangover, but most of it was gone in a few hours.

I don't usually get panic attacks, I don't remember ever having one before & certainly not since, it only lasted a few minutes before I calmed myself down, but it was intense, my heart rate went up to 180bpm (33 years old, normal resting rate about 60bpm for me, measured on a fingertip pulse oximeter), but it started from anxiety that I wasn't getting the expected mental effects, just some body load, worrying I'd been sent the wrong drug, etc.

I will have to try it again sometime, maybe it was just me that night, I wasn't in the best state of mind after a long psychedelic binge, but I'm not in any rush to do it. I've got 3 other psychedelics that I haven't given a fair trial either, another two I know I love & apparently mushroom season has started early too... so it's 7th on my list of psychedelics to try.

I tried AL-LAD again 4 days ago, 150µg without any benzo in my system and almost had a bad trip on it!

It was CLEARLY active, I experienced scary thought loops and mind blowing music distortion aswell.

Trip lasted 9 hours and even strong visuals !

Still clearly active, was my own fault !

Even got me by surprise, I was overwhelmed during the comeup and kind of lost my shit, I had to go to tripsit.me to have some help :)

Had some scary trips myself on 300mcg. Music sounded alien and evil haha.
I think the blotters aren't even in dose. Most 300mcg trips are beautifull, but i had two instances of the trip feeling like i took double or triple the dose and ended up feeling like i was going insane (even the terrifying trips ended up being awesome in the end though)

Thought i was dead once too, but still kept my shit together.
 
I think I've had that overheating thing last sunday when my head felt very hot. I haven't had that before (have taken ten blotters in total over the course of a year and a half; last sunday I had taken 1 blotter of al-lad and half a 1p-lsd). It didn't last very long but it was slightly disconcerting for a while.

Something I observed with al-lad a couple of times was how I distinctly noticed the exact moment the plateau ended. It was literally a realization: 'ok bang so now it's over'. I call it being kicked out of paradise but I think I picked up that phrase from this board.
 
@ Kishka...I also bought a lot of AL-LAD in 2013, and it's still potent as hell. And while I don't have time to get into it right now, I find it amusing that people sometimes say that you can't go "deep" with AL. WHile I agree it's nothing like LSD in that regard, it can kick your ass at high doses. I have built a tolerance lately, taking 1-P, ETH-LAD or AL each weekend for about 6 weeks, I took 750 ug's (yes...but usually do 300 to 450 anyway) last weekend and I tripped so hard and such huge ego-dissolution that I was like semi-conscious, and drifting in this strange space where stories were playing themselves out that had nothing at all to do with the music I was listening to. It was almost like a blackout, but deep in psychedelia, for sure. I really felt like I got hit with a psychedelic sledge-hammer...in a good but very serious way. AL-...while not as beloved as LSD or even high dose mushroom trips, is really a phenomenally useful tool, and I've learned a lot about myself experimenting with it.

Does any of you by the way knows if AL-LAD is toxic or physically dangerous?

What are the chance of dying from lets say an heart attack, stroke or dropping dead? Does it carry the same safety profile as LSD?

I've seen a video where Dr David Nichols mentionned that AL-LAD was x3.48 stronger than LSD.

Any ideas? :)
 
Not at all, unless say you were already predisposed to that sort of thing. Then you may drop whenever. Lysergamides have shown some of the highest safety profiles of all psychedelics. Comparatively at least(not to make them sound any less safe!).

Nichols is most likely talking about agonism because ug for ug LSD is stronger. Either way strength means nothing..... LSD is active at 45ugs but dependent it'd take forty thousand times more to kill you(and that's just me going off the top of my head it may well be eighty...).

I know it's difficult to help but your a thousand times more likely to drop dead of a heart attack after years of OCD sorta stuff then just a dose of AL-LAD(also if your worried about these things, learn about them there are few things more interesting...plus that way you won't be trusting some random internet people...;)).
 
had some al-lad wrapped in paper in a book in my bag which got very hot (up to 40 degrees). My bag also got soaked one day at the beach. A few days later they were indeed still very active. :)
 
Is there possible any sniffing dog which can detect a sealed bag of gram of al-lad in airport or any customs?
 
How is it possible, that im so very sensitive for even threshold doses of tryptamines like 4_ho_met and 4aco-dmt, but 150μg of AL-LAD barely made my trip a + experience?

I've done it twice, on empty stomach, had the blotters under tongue for a few minutes, then wash it down with a big glass of water. I did experience a short duration of happy giggles an hour later, I did see some patterns and letters that appeared to breathe in a magazine i was reading meanwhile, but i really had to focus to get these visuals, focus to a point where i wasnt really sure if i had mild OEVs or if it was all just a placebo effect. Nothing even close to hallucinations on tryptamines i previously had experienced.

I just wonder, what am i doing wrong here? Its the most expensive drug i've purchased but so far, even weed gives me a more psychedelic experience than this. Did water maybe destroy it after i washed it down with the water? Whats your idea why im failing here?

Everyone is different. I am kind of a hardhead to everything now (except, strangely, DMT), due to past overuse of psychedelics, but when I first started tripping, I took low doses of tryptamines and phenethylamines compared to most and would get blown away. Conversely, with LSD, I was never able to push past threshold, even when friends taking less of the same batch would be off their face. Fast forward to current times, I find the same is true with lysergamides. AL-LAD, for example, I don't really bother taking less than 300ug of, and I prefer 450.
 
Interesting. I don't consider myself a particularly heavy user of psychedelics. I've taken them around 10 times in 2 years, although i must say, that last month 30 days ago i took a huge dose of 4 ho met (75mg) so it could've heavily altered my tolerance for psychs.
I will test if low 5-10mg doses of 4ho met also fail to produce a trip for me, like they did in the past, so i know if i gained the tolerance for psychs
 
I finally got around to trying the ~150ug sample blotter of AL-LAD I got off one of the darknet marketplaces. I think I've had it in my possession for at least most of this year, but stored in a cool, dry location.

Two hours after dosing, I barely felt anything more than a few alerts to suggest that there was, indeed, a drug in my body.
With great disappointment I then ingested half a tab (~600ug) of 25B-NBOMe. This seemed to combine nicely with the AL-LAD, as I believe I tripped harder than I have from that amount of 25B by itself in the past.

Although both chemicals are known for being visual, my trip was lacking in that department. I was in an environment known for sensory overload (a party at Alex Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors), and the various sights seemed somewhat enhanced but weren't particularly inclined to morph in my vision. I wasn't bothered by this though, as everything there is already so incredibly beautiful to begin with.
Headspace was very shallow, allowing me to enjoy everything going on around me without being sucked into introspection. I realized afterwards that I did not have any thoughts about the men in my life (romantically speaking), which is something my thoughts almost always go to while tripping. This realization really defined the lack of mental depth for me.
Although at the same time that I was not having profound thoughts, I found myself making clever remarks to my friends, despite the fact that I sometimes had difficulty getting words out. Some psychedelics seem to make me wittier than others (4-HO-MiPT is another that tends to have this effect). And during the car ride home, where I might usually be quiet and/or fall asleep, I was the chattiest on in the car. I blame this on the stimulating nature of 25B.

A couple other interesting effects:
- Warped audio perception. Sounds seemed to come from the wrong location. I noticed this a handful of times throughout the night... I always find audio hallucinations very interesting as I do not experience them too often.
- Disjointed thoughts and images while trying to fall asleep. They occurred quickly in succession and mostly unrelated to my conscious thoughts. Towards the very end of the night as I struggled to sleep, the images started to become disturbing (gore, human waste, etc.) They didn't particularly frighten me, but I actively tried to make them go away. Closed-eye visuals are by no means unusual for me to experience while trying to sleep, but these immediately seemed different than the typical.

I managed to fall asleep about 9 hours after dosing the 25B, but with much difficulty. I almost reached for a benzo, but finally got myself to focus on the darkness behind my eyelids until there was nothing else.
 
It is quite possible that the reason that you are not experiencing much of an effect from the AL-LAD is because you "wash it down with a big glass of water". Assuming that there is chlorine in the water that you are drinking, and chlorine is known to quickly and efficiently kill LSD. I did a quick google search to see if chlorine killed AL-LAD in the same manner that it does LSD, which I assumed it would based on their structural similarities and found this;

"AL-LAD molar mass = 349.4693
1 gram of Chlorine would destroy 4.9g of AL-LAD

50ug of AL-LAD = 0.000000143074084 moles
50ug of Chlorine would destroy 245ug of AL-LAD
therefore 10ml of tap water would destroy 245ug of AL-LAD"
 
It's not unusual to feel little from 150ug of AL-LAD. Now, I am a hard head, and usually do 450 to 600 of AL. But even when I first tried it, 150 was barely perceptible overall. In my estimation, AL-LAD shines when you start to up the dose to 300 and beyond.

Nope, I am aware of the effect chlorine has on LSD and as such did not want to risk it with AL-LAD. I didn't drink any water for at least an hour after ingestion.

I am not particularly a psychedelic hardhead, and my last trip before this one was three weeks ago. Based on trip reports, I know a lot of people find 150ug underwhelming, even though others have a ++/+++ experience from the same dose. I was just hoping to be in the latter camp :( oh well.

I'd like to try AL-LAD again at a higher dose, but for now I am more interested in sampling 1p-LSD.

Great info darkstarcrashes, I did not know (chlorinated) water could destroy al-lad. I drank it because i always had a bit of trouble swallowing the blotter alone. I always sensed it got stuck in my throat, which is why i made a mistake of washing it down. Maybe next time, i will take a beer or a shot of vodka instead :)
