The Big & Dandy 4-HO-MET Thread

I did approx 35mg on the tailend of an aMT trip. It never felt really strong; the visuals were outstanding. Headspace was lucid, but I was able to be pretty coherent. It is nothing like mushrooms though, imo.

You can probably push the dosage on this one if you want a really strong trip. Im thinking of trying 50mg next time. I would try 30-35mg or less, first, if it was my first time with this compound, to get a feel for it. :)

Oh, and I dosed about half of that oral in a gelcap. I spilt the rest of it on a table while filling the cap, so the remainder went up my nose. :)

whats a good dosage for a good very strong trip? 3Omg? oral? intranas?and is really exactly like a shroom trip... if not what are the differences? physical and mental?

I don't find any of the 4-HO or 4-AcO tryptamines to be exactly like mushrooms, not even 4-HO-DMT. 4-HO-MET I find much lighter, visuals closer to DMT in that they are very sharp-edged geometric. The mental trip is much less. I found it to let me remain feeling like myself, while being dipped into the tryptamine flow.

I've actually had great party times on it! I've always found that with a glass of red wine or three it doesn't give much headfuck unless you want it to, just laughing till your sides hurt and lovely oily patterns on everything you look at. And I'm usually not very keen on doing psychs in uncontrollable party situations, but I'd always consider taking Methyl Ethyl to a party. You might have difficulty communicating for a bit while enjoying the effects but you can still be sort of social on it.

I've done a trip report about it here - http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=501507

Hope that helps - I'd suggest getting used to it at home/nature/safe environment before going out into the wild with it though of course!

My experience with it has always been:-
T: dose
T+20 to T+40: smooth come on of visuals andtrippy thinking
till T+4: wave after wave of tripping your twat off/feeling sober again for ten minutes/over and over again
T+5: wearing off, starting to feel fine
T+6: back at baseline, no comedown, face aching from laughing

This substance also demonstrated to me the truth: "there are no casual experiments." Every tiny dose I've tried (5mg even) surprised me with its effects.

Indeed. My first taste of it was at 10mgs. This is interesting stuff. It's strange how being halfway into a psychedelic state can often be more intense in its own way than a full on experience.

1:30 hours in, this is really really light compared to what i was expecting... nice bodyload but very light on the visual side.. good CEV's very little OEV's... redosed 50mg

very pleasantt, just a bit light... especially enjoy music

Welll its definately interesting... some open eye visuals, mostly colors looking different.... but the close eye visuals are crazy... too much for me to handle

This may be my 'next up' psychedelic. From what I read, it does not seem to be as caustic to the sense of self as some of the other psilocin analogues.

Would you all feel a museum level dose will be conducive to hiking....or stick with 2c-T-21? I know, no 'tell me what drug to take' so instead I'll ask...

"What drug would you take?" if you were gonna go hiking and wanted something for a sparkle instead of a smack in the face?

I've never tried 2C-T-21. Now I'm on a 'gotta try the ones I've never tried before' kick so T21, 2C-P, 4-Ho-MET, 4-AcO-MET, 4-AcO-DiPT, 5-MeO-MiPT, 5-MeO-MET, MET, 5-MeO-DALT, and a couple others will next up on my list. In general, tryptamines are not suited (for me anyway) for recreational anything but this one sounds like it may be ok.

5 meo mipt has been recreational at low doses (8mg and less). But yeh generally tryptamines dont lend themselves to recreational experiences like PEA's do.

I also got a few things to try that i never have, mostly PEA's (t7, t21, 2cp, DOM). But am more inclined to take tryptamines these days. I find i can still explore some interesting places even on low doses without getting into dark areas.
And i never feel any of the physical distress from tryptamines like i do from PEA's.

This 4 HO and 4 Aco MET sound right up my ally.

I'd probably choose 4-HO-MET, as I find it more interesting than 2C-T-21 and still very non-threatening. But I like both of them and find both good, light-hearted compounds. I know you're more of a phenethylamine guy... and T-21 is more social for sure. So I'd say that if you want to have a social experience, I'd take a good dose of T-21. If you're going to be alone or not planning to be very social, I'd go for the 4-HO-MET.

It'll be same as last week. Me and her (or a couple trippin'=friendly friends if they want to come along) hiking among the mountains. There are other people around sometimes that you will see on the trail but everyone is busy getting their hike on, so you are never bothered...and if you get uncomfortable around others...you just make a slight detour off the main trail and find a nice rock to sit on and chill.

We have commited to hiking every weekend for the rest of the summer. We live in the prettiest land in the US and A, so it's about time we start making the most of it. She wants to hike 20 miles a week, and we got 15 in this past weekend alone..so almost there. And since I love tripping and prefer it outdoors....I suspect I'm gonna get a lot of it done this year. :)

So yeah, I'm thinking it will be 4-Ho-MET for this weekend's trip. So excited, and I'll be in the best shape every by the end of it.

Once summer is here and camping is an option (the higher mountains where you can camp are still snowed in) then I'll get a chance to sample some of the longer trips like DOM, 2C-P, etc.

Sounds like fun! But I have to disagree that you live in the most beautiful land in the US of A... for I live in a land that is at least tied as the most beautiful. :) And myself and my wife and some other PDers just went camping next to the Appalachian Trail this past Saturday with a 360 degree view and provided food, fire, and massages for some hikers who were a month into the 5-6 month hike :)
