The Big and Dandy Basic Psilocybin Mushroom Questions Thread (Arch 3-18-07 - 4-21-08)

Im 5'5" 128 pounds and my first time I took a whooping 1/4...craziest shit ever and it was the most profound experience, took me months to uncover the true meanings of all the unconscious things I had in my mind.

Typically its good to wait at least a month, but some people say that after two weeks, eating healthy and doing sports in between, is enough to keep your tolerance level low.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I am more concerned with health risks. Say I take an 8th of mushrooms a week after I have taken a half 8th, will there be any substantial health risks, or will my tolerance just be a little higher?

In my experience, it just increases your tolerance.

When I was eating them every week, or more than that even, I was up to an oz., and I was a just a tiny thing (5'1'', 115 lbs.)

as long as you dont try to go pick you own, or decide to go walk atop a 40 story building while tripping.. then the worst that can happen to you is a stomach ache.. and mabey a mental disoder long term. but thats just another word for personality

there is no set amount of time that is good to wait...

keep in mind that it takes at least a week for your brain to re-adjust its neurotransmitter levels after a psychedelic experience, sometimes closer to a month.

i would suggest meditating on the topic...or next time you partake ask the mushrooms what they think about regularity of use.

i've eaten mushrooms weekly for a few months in a row and maintained sanity....i'm just a little more philosophical and artsy now thats all. :)

remember also that each experience changes you forever (well so does each non-drug experience), watch yourself grow and progress to determine how often psychedlics are necissary. it won't take more than a few trips for you to start noticing alterations in your mentality and perception due to what you've learned from the mushrooms.

make sure to always respect the mushrooms and other psychedelics..they are not drugs but teachers.

in terms of physical health risks there are none. unless you are allergic to psilocybin (which you would have already noticed) the mushrooms are healthy for you...protein, vitamins mmmmm (they are very high in a certain mineral/vitamin, i can't remember which it may be panotheic or folic acid)

Leary was said to have taken them weekly for years.

There are certain toxins? in them though, so you might want to alternate with other psychs.

No physical health risks but if you take them weekly for several years in a row you will notice a drop off in effect untill you take a few months off.

Merged in question on shrooms and length between tripping.

Leary was said to have taken them weekly for years.

He took psilocybin pills, not mushrooms. Once a month is more then enough with the fungus funk. I have heard of many mushrooms containging a indigestible protein structure, including some of the active psilocybes

i'm 5'11" 120lb, my first two mushroom experiences were with eighths.
mindblowing. ridiculously.

anyone bigger than me, which is most people, should have no trouble with 1/8 though. maybe. depends on... you, i guess.

I have recently tried the mexicana strain, and found it to be a complete mental fuck up, as my report suggested. I hardly experienced any OEV's, just some floating of 2d objects (i.e paintings) and some size distortions. I have read from various people that this particular strain, the mexicana, is more of a mental fuck up than anything else, and that the colourful OEVs and dream-like stuff is experienced on the hawaian copelandia.

My first and so far only trip on the mexicana kind of put me off trying mushrooms again, But having read these reports & info has had me thinking twice. I still want to experience those dream-like OEVs and entering a new world, and perhaps the copelandia hawaian could provide this.

I'd like to know if these differences between strains are actually true, and if the copelandia holds itself truth to what I have heard. If so, I would make a last order before they are made illegal.

Copelandia cyanescens (Blue meanies) which grow/have grown around Melbourne australia have always put me into a way more dreamy, loss-of-ego trip then P. subaerignosa. Whats the species name exactly? Hawain copelandia could be anything and may be called Panaelous sp. If you mention the species exact name I could tell you more I thin. I'd snap 'em up were I you, however I've found copelandia cyanescens to be pretty variable in potency.

I've never used shrooms, but am looking around. I've never been around anyone that is on them either. My only real psych is morning glory, although I'm a regular mj smoker.

So, on to the question...

I'd really like to go to our art museum my first time on them. I'd plan on doing a "test" dosage, and then upping that if I feel it's doable when actually going to the museum. How in control can you be on shrooms? I should note, I'm very very good at controlling myself on pot and morning glory.

I find it quite easy to handle myself on low doses of mushrooms, but they can quite easily strip you of control at somewhat higher doses. You should test the actual dosage in a closed setting before taking it to a public setting. Upping the dose in such a way is not recommended, a low dose mushroom trip is nothing like a high dose.

I have never had access to that many different varieties; if I did I would take advantage of it…

I always get nauseous when I eat mushrooms, but last time I ate them, I thought I was going to die, I was so nauseous.
After spending some time trying to throw up in the nasty ass campground washroom, I lay down for a bit in my tent (this was at an outdoor music festival) and I just focused on breathing, deeply and slowly.
I chanted a mantra "Everything will be Ok".

And after a little while, the nausea transformed into euphoria, and "everything will be ok" transformed into "everything is beautiful".
It was the most intense trip of my life, I saw visions of heaven and hell and became undifferentiated energy that was connected to the rest of the universe.

But to get to that point, I had to just breathe.
