The "Best" Anxiolytic?

I
No, other doctors are even more strict. This one was not supposed to give me even benzos but he did so sparingly. As I said, I have disavowed the system entirely.
There's no point in sampling lyrica. Even if it works great, that's irrelevant if I can't afford more than 10. I believe you anyway, lots have testified to it being a godsend. Is it a temporary or lasting fix? Ever experienced any WD?

Valerian root is what valium is made from and kava increases adrenaline which I don't want. I'll look into the others, thanks.
I keep hearing that valerian root is related to valium or valium is made from valerian.this is bullshit, they have nothing in common,no relationship at all in any way shape or form other than 3letters in common.its misinformation and u should stop spreading it immediately.stick to facts.

2) It's not a trend, nor is it romanticized. Reading your take on it, I'm curious what has you so up in arms about the whole issue. You seem oddly invested in it.

This right here is why I rarely bother with these subjective topics. They go nowhere, everyone has their own personal definition for everything and I can never seem to offer my take on it without getting accused of being oddly invested in it.

4) Also, funny how you shit on my anecdote and then offer one of your own, as if more valid than mine.

Did nothing of the kind, just pointed out that anecdotes are unfalsifiable which you certainly recognized by dismissing my reciprocal anecdote.

So let's just agree to disagree. I'm done with this sub-topic.

Thanks for the sound response after I got a little heated. Sounds good.

Well I stopped Mebicar cold turkey last Friday, I was tired of droopy cock syndrome and never being able to get enough sleep. No noticeable anxiolysis. The pills tasted like shit. The next day my horniness returned to normal but the insomnia remains.
Moving on we have Picamilon, if no one has any opinion on it I will start first day with 50mg to assess effects and then take 100mg daily from then on. Anyone think I should wait a few more days first for any effects/after-effects of Mebicar to clear off first?

Now Picamilon is the best name for a drug I've ever tried, too bad it's doing squat. I took 6 pills (300mg) on the weekend and felt nothing. Gonna try 10 pills next time. Afterwards we're gonna see if Grandaxin (Tofisopam) is so grand after all.

Benzos are overall the best GABAergics for anxiety.

Barbs may be more effective anxiolytics, but are way easy to overdose on.

So, that's why benzos take up that market share. The usual exception is someone with epilepsy and anxiety taking phenobarbital.

I personally think that minor herbal GABAergics is better, for me, though, in not losing part of my persona. But though I'm in the field, I can't recommend it to anyone.

Yeah, for me Valium is simply the best. It hits all the right spots to make me not care about anything, even better than opioids.

Wish I could try barbs though. Can’t fake epilepsy :p

I've tried a few. As good as the high was, it was NOT worth the morning after. Never in my life have I had such a hard time waking up as after trying secobarbital and amobarbital. I was in grade school at the time and both my friend and I could not be woken up by our parents and were hours late to school because of it. And, even after waking, we were drowsy and out of it for hours more.

yeah that's some old school western medicine hahahaha

Valerian root didn't have any effect on me, even when taken without any benzo or alcohol tolerance...

Rosemary essential oil vapors, when inhaled in undiluted form, got me about as high as a real benzo or pregabalin, as described in this thread. The oil contains compounds that bind to benzodiazepine receptors (and also affect calcium channels, but I'm not sure if they are the same Ca channels that pregabalin has an effect on). Note that it's unclear what adverse effects it could have, some people can even get an asthma attack from the mere harshness of those vapors. And using the stuff makes your home smell like a cannabis farm genetically modified to contain eucalyptus terpenes too. Your first impression could be that its mechanism of action must be the same as that of chloroform and other volatile solvents, but in that case you wouldn't be high for 5 hours after inhaling less than 300 milligrams of that stuff. Trying to vaporize that oil with external heating is dangerous because the oil is flammable. And because some of the compounds in it are only partial agonists at the benzodiazepine binding site, it could in theory cause a precipitated withdrawal in some people who are dependent on large doses of Valium or similar.

Concentrated extract is effective, ime. Also, giant doses swallowed with water, sort of like kratom toss/wash in method. But at that point one really ought to have a doctor saying okay or giving a medication to replace it.

Had some phenobarbital before, obviously a weak barb but the only one I could get my mitts on. Didn't do much on its own but mixed well with benzos, had me monged out for a good while.

Would love to try one of those old school pills that was a combo of amphetamine and secobarbital.

Threw the rest of the RM oil away yesterday, to not use any more right now... Can't really know how harmful it is when used too much. People who live in slums and huff gas would probably be better off using that as a cheap inhalant, though.

Any anxiolytic may cause you to perform. NE serves an important role in being a sexual male.
Too relaxed/calm and most end up not wanting it. I have known a lot of alcoholics and other depressant addicts. Not a lot of sexual interest there.

Yeah if I take too much Xanax I'm too monged out to fuck but if I take like 1mg clonazepam instead I'm easily in the mood. Lyrica is a great sex drug though as long as you take a low enough dose that it doesn't completely fuck you up.

due to ptsd, etc. some alprazolam helps me perform better "some" meaning never more than 1mg and 1-3 beers tops (over-thinking/etc is a worse alternative), but the nervousness and anticipation, etc. is all very rewarding and part of the experience.

Lyrica works as anxiolitic but it's shitty for several good reasons.
Difficulty thinking. Slow thought. Difficulty connecting concepts and visual hallucinations.

I take it for neuropathic pain but every psychiatrist want to augment my dose. And I always say. No! This medication is worst then most Benzodiazepines. It's just not regulated. At least here in Canada. It's easy for them to prescribe it. Compared to Benzodiazepines.

But Lyrica litterally feels like you have a moron brain.
And a penis that does not feel alot of sensations.

Yep it's the same in the UK, it is scripted as an anxiolytic as well as for neuropathic pain. It was recently made a controlled drug just a few months ago but for the past decade it was uncontrolled and handed out freely by GP's, pain specialists, and psychiatrists all over the country. There is now Lyrica addiction throughout the UK and it's been dubbed the "new Valium" which is accurate in this context - for reference in the 90's there was a huge class action lawsuit against doctors for overprescribing diazepam and causing addiction, and the same thing has clearly happened here with pregabalin.

And not to get all tinfoil hat about things but I know I'm not the only one who thinks it's a little weird how it was only made a controlled drug in the UK after Pfizer's European patent expired. The NHS and ACMD were warning about uncontrolled pregabalin prescriptions causing addiction problems since at least 2015. Yet it takes four years to control it, conveniently just as the generics come to market. Usually if the ACMD recommends a drug be controlled, the government will do it within a few weeks or months at most. So this is very unusual.

Anyway when I was on the stuff it was being thrown at me. I complained about side effects and was given a higher dose. I tapered myself down and the psychiatrist said no, you need to take more. It was madness. All the time I was feeling like a retard and forgetting things and losing stuff constantly.

This is a nasty drug that honestly feels like it is bad for your brain. I have seen a study linking chronic use of pregabalin to brain damage which does not at all shock me considering how you feel under the influence. Give me good old benzos any day, the science on those is pretty clear they do not cause brain damage unless taken in excess of therapeutic dose ranges.

I have to say though pregabalin for me does increase sexual pleasure. But I still don't really like taking it.

Thanks for the continuing info guys, I re-added pregabalin to my try list after figuring a way to get it cheap. The retard-inducing effects remind me of benzos to be honest. It's discouraging but I guess I'll see what happens. The goal obviously is not to take it long term but to finally grow out of this damn anxious state for good. But I'm not optimistic because nothing seems in my control. I feel like a programmed machine. The mood swings I had last year, feeling super happy or super depressed for no rational reason, it fucked me up. Everything feels so unnatural and disconnected now.
The mental state that Selank gave me I wish I could feel 24/7 but the instructions say not to use for more than 2 weeks straihgt. Yeah, if only the feelings could stay after those 2 weeks are over. :(
