Are you travelling overseas any time soon or are you there right now? Let us all know how it is and where you are!

Right now im in Rome but ive been to switzerland, London, Monaco, multiple cities in France and a few other places in the last 2 weeks and got about 5 more euro countries(including Amsterdam yeaya!) to go and im having a ball like never before. Its like 2AM here and im pissed as a fart and should probably go to sleep heh but still smiling nonetheless, got the sistine chapel and other roman attractions to see tomorrow but yer, im hoping theres some other Aussies getting around. Im the only one out of most people I know to go overseas and im sick of hearing "you lucky bastard" Im not a lucky bastard I just care about more than wasting money on drugs and shit, its not luck at all its just dedication.

So is anyone going anywhere special soon? Where, how, why and for how long?

Now I think sleep is on the books, sweet dreams or maybe its good morning to the Aussies!

haha, have fun bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a girlfriend of mine over that way on a Topdeck tour recently. She just got back and loved it.

Thailand for me is the next trip but that's in January.

May Saint Christopher watch over you wherever you go!

Most people know that I live in Scotland now.

Just recently got back from trip to Krakow, Vilnius, Tallinn & Riga. It was sensational, I would do the whole trip again. The baltics are amazing! and the women! OMG something you haven't seen before in your life!! I thought I might not bump into many aussies as its not a well traveled route. But more then half the people I met were aussies.

Ketaman, what was switzerland like, where did you go.. thinking about going there in October, coupled in with Prague and a few other places around there

I'd go to the Baltics before it gets over run by tourist, cause it will... It's big now, and it's only going to get bigger!

I came over to Paris for a conference and am hiring an apartment for a couple of weeks. Spending a few days in a tiny medieval village in central France later on

Ive done a fair amount of traveling and love Europe the most. I prefer to temporarily 'live' somewhere rather than race around and look at landmarks. Hiring a car and winging it is also a great way to go

Hoping do the same next year... now i only if can get the conference to pay my way :)

My current most wanted list list: Dublin (again), Paris (again), Japan, Moscow, Berlin

^^ See I find I get bored if I'm somewhere for too long. I was over Dublin in two days and I was there for four.

on my current want to go to list is:

Belgium
Germany
Czech Republic
Hungry
Slovenia
Russia (well really only St. Petersburg)

^^Belgium and Germany are brilliant. Expect to put on at least 5 kilos after going to those countries. =D

My next trip is Vietnam and Laos in September. Can't wait.

Well thats OK, I've lost about 15kg since being in Scotland, and I cant work out why? I eat loads of crap and I'm not even partyinh

I have all those places to go except russia, also going to austria and the netherlands, all in the nest 2 and a bit weeks plus another few days in Britain.

Im going to be a obese mofo when I get back if im gonna put on weight in germany coz ive already put on quite a bit in the last 2 weeks lol but its all great beer and food.

I went to a place in switzerland called Interlaken which was absolutely stunning and many people on my tours favourite spot but its my second fav, I just love Italy and oneday plan to live here for awhile. But Switzerland is beautiful if you go to the right places, we went up to the jungfraujoc(I think I spelled it right) basically the top of europe with beautiful snow but unfortunately On the way up and down I got the most unimaginable altitude sickness, but it was great nonetheless.

You gotta come here.

If anyone can give me some pointers on whats good in each country then hit me up, especially any aussie pubs or pubs frequented by aussies in vienna coz thats where ill be when the state of origin is on and I really dont wanna miss NSW banging QLDs ringhole. If not then carry on peoples!!!

And yeah it is amazing how many aussies you meet, ive met soo many random aussies and even the europeans love us to death, but an aussie accent instantly attracts my attention and as soon as you say hi it starts a conversation and often a new friendship so its just great, never been happier :D

Today i visited pompei and it was stunning, lots of mafia there though, some guy was handing out pamphlets and getting people to sign a petition while yelling "support the mafia guys!!!" I had to laugh coz most of them seem decent while the police are assholes.

Airports

Heathrow is like airport purgatory

You sit and wait while your fate is decided by the crazed celtic gods of flight and mayhem. Sometimes you're the predatory bird endlessly circling the sky hungrily looking for a succulent runway to expose its vulnerable landing lights. Other times you sit in the steel belly of the beast, drunkenly taxing across the tarmac without apparent purpose or destination.

The airport madness is known to get its claws into a man. Even a calm and reasoning gentleman will succumb to superstition, drop to their knees, and beg for the miracle that baggage claim will spew forth the bounty they so desperately crave. Sometimes (like now) you sit in your overpriced lounge, drink your mediocre free booze and entertain yourself as best you can while the hours tick by with agonizing slowness.

Then the moment is upon you. If you are true and your resolve never wavered a femme fatale British librarian voice will reward you with the fateful announcement: 'Ladies and gentlemen QA302 is now ready for boarding at gate 10'

Enlightenment!!

(gota run) :)

^I'm with you Dog. I love having the money and time to really explore a place. Living on pasta and working dead-end jobs to get rotton drunk in the gutter doesn't float my boat, although I know many people who wish they could relive their backpacking years. :p

Getting rotten drunk and working dead end jobs is what living overseas is all about.

Shame you cant enjoy it.

=D

^^South America would be awesome depending on where you go, if Columbia wasnt such a dangerous place id love to go there but its too crazy for me. Where do you want to go?

Im in the Czech Republic at the moment, went clubbing in the biggest club in central Europe last niht and I have to say it sucked balls, nothing at all compared to all the raves ive been to, it was still fun and I drank plenty of Absinthe(the real stuff, its made here) but I dont think ill be going to any clubs any time soon, if the clubs are like that in Australia I will be in tears.

Got 6 days left on my tour then off to london for a few days, im loving it but im starting to get run down, need some chill time but I cant coz everything is so hectic and everything has to be on time so its not exactly rushed, I just cant do everything I want to. But all is good, im not whinging, at least I got to sleep in this morning :D

^Look for some outdoor psytrance festivals while ya over there. It's summer there, there's bound to be a few happening. I'm also sure there's good clubs there, I know for a fact the Czech's love their Tech....

I want to go to Brazil, Peru, Chile, (maybe Columbia, see how brave I'm feeling)...nowhere in paticular really to be honest. Just want to wander about and soak up some local atmosphere...

If you head to Spain, don't miss Barcelona. My favourite European city (out of the small few I've experienced).

^^Unfortunately there will be no Spain or Greece which are two countries I was planning on going to but my tour doesnt go there. Its also my last day in Prague so I wont get to experience any good Czech trance parties, but tomorrow I start in Berlin for 3 nights then Amsterdam for 2 nights so im sure there will be plenty or partying in Berlin and plenty of greenery in 'dam so thank god I will have some chillout time after basically drinking for a month straight and non stop sightseeing, partying and good times. I cant believe its nearly over, its been absolutely amazing, beyond my wildest dreams.

Whereabouts in europe have you been psyco? Just so I know what to compare barcelona too coz there has been so many great places, but the best places were the ones I wasnt expecting much from. Although Hungary/Budapest sucked, I will never go there again, its a very depressing, poverty stricken place although there were some lovely baths and some fun times its just somewhere I dont want to see. But I guess you cant blame them, they were one of the most recent countries to get away from communism and there were some lovely, accommodating people there, most people there didnt know what a smile is, well not literally but I think I only saw maybe 10 locals smiling there. But this is all my opinion, some people on the tour liked it but I dont really see how thats possible.

If anyones ever interested in coming to Prague, check out the Top Hotel, its where I am now and I will be back for sure one winter coz I want to see this place covered in snow. There is a casino, 10 pin bowls lanes, 5 resturants, lots of shops, plenty of bars, pools, saunas and spa's all in one hotel and its very affordable, a very awesome place.

ah czeck republic very cool place, was there in 2001. You go to Czesky Krumlov? mad little town. And yeh Prague crazy gothic building eh and the beer omg love the beer halls. Did you come across Eggenberg beer at all ketaman? Was my fav I think, had a dark type aswell which was tasty

On my agenda is a holiday chilling and pimpin it in Thailand in September then have some friends in Korea so I might try my hand at teaching english there or somewhere else in Asia if I dont like it there. Should be fun times!
