The Anti-Christmas League is BACK!!!

the new anti xmass song

silent night
by damien rice

Silent night, broken night
All is fallen when you take your flight
I found some hate for you
Just for show
You found some love for me
Thinking I'd go
Don't keep me from crying to sleep
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, moonlit night
Nothing's changed
Nothing is right
I should be stronger than weeping alone
You should be weaker than sending me home
I can't stop you fighting to sleep
Sleep in heavenly peace

Oh yes, im in support of the anti-christmas league. all it is for me is spending all my money on people i don't even particularly like- only have to buy presents for because its impolite if i don't. Possibly the worst thing about it is putting up with the christmas movies on TV, the christmas adds everywhere, and the christmas music on every radio station and tv show!

I am not in support of the Anti-Christmas league. We've always celebrated and I have way to many people who expect to see me on Christmas day, to turn my back a forfeit [not that I'd entertain the thought].

Things I love about Christmas:

* Seeing everyone
* Giving and reciveing presents. I'm getting an iPod nano this year... what's not to be happy about? ;)
* Pretending to be Santa and wearing silly Christmas hats
* The massive seafood platters just waiting to be scoffed down [fuck the turkey] :D
* Going to carols by candlelight! [yes, I admit]
* Late night strolls along the Boulevard and setting up our own Christmas tree/ lights/ display.

CHRISTMAS, I LOVE YOU!!!

But.. since I'm in the Anti-Christmas league thread...

God. I'd completly forgotten about christmas-tv, much like amnesia brought on by extreme psychological stress.

But now I remember, oh yes!
I remember the never ending onslaught of 1hr long programs, each one a mindless cliche neatly wrapped in vomit inducing carols.
*shudder*

Now, I don't know that I like Christmas T.V...

That might be going that bit far... ;) I just like going to the carols, just once, being there and feeling the good vibe. It's an awesome, loving feeling. One that [however unfortunate] isn't typically experienced on any given day of the year.

im normally rolling drunk by 11am and nanny napping before lunchtime=D
i <3 christmas

Christmas carols. Good cheer. It's enough to make me sick on a good day.

and it definetely makes us sick on a bad day. i have been avoiding the malls and shops to steer away from their tinsel roof decorations and fake candy canes.

get a real festival you fools!

I do really feel sorry for people who work retail at Christmas time, especially in places such as Go-Lo. The constant playing of Stevo & Robbo (or insert other suitably named characters here) singing 'Aussie' Christmas songs about Santa and his ute makes me feel suicidal about 2 seconds after walking through the doors.

Two people in my street have lights up. Oh how I loathe them.

My Christmas is going to be great this year. Friend goes to court three days before, and his own lawyer says there is nearly a 100 percent chance he is going to jail.

Bar humbug.

this is a great chance for an opportunist like yourself. make your own informative sign and strategically place it between the lights. it doesn't even need to be a christmas message, just something we all could afford to remember :)

That's not a very merry Christmas...:\

My first boyfriend ever died in a car accident, only a few days before Christmas last year... :(

R.I.P Aidy.

I am too lazy to research it properly and provide a link, but STA has an awesome Anti-Christmas ad that has warmed my cockles substantially. The Anti-Christmas League spirit is alive and well! =D

On a more serious note, that sucks about Aidy, Doppelganger...the guy who married my ex's wife killed himself a couple of Christmases ago...dead people at Christmas is so not good. :(

That's terrible doppelganger. I don't really know anyone personally in my group of peers who has died. I don't think I would cope with that very well.

That's a good idea Mean Girl :)

Though I couldn't really think of much to say at the moment that isn't vitriolically saturated.

all it takes is for a couple of globes to go missing form the string and bam there gose the whole string

also if you short the to wires then you will blow all the lights

this one may be a little bit dangrus as it can result in fire
but its there own fult for stringing them up

friend live on a street with lots of houses with lights and no back rds to get into her place
was a night mare to get home
could take over 30 mins just to drive down her street

i fucking hate xmass lights

had no one in family die on xmass
but have to cuzins in the police in nsw both in country towns

both have had to be the news breaker quite a few times on xmass day to familys about family memebrs who have toped themself on xmass day
