The 2013 mushroom thread

^ Me too! Gonna start checkin the fields up the mountain at the back of my house in the next few weeks.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the best thing to do is to flick the head before you pick it to sprinkle some spores. Could be bullshit though. I agree that the mycellium is probably too large and goes too deep to be affected by giving a mushie a bit of a tug to get it out of the ground.
 
Spent all day walking the moors, found a couple of fields with plenty of libs in. Probably found around 300... trippy times ahead
 
So, I want to start harvesting these from cow shit. (Why buy spore kits etc?) Would this be a good time of year. I'll post any I find; wouldn't want to get poisoned now...? Is this a risky way to proceed. Advice appreciated.
 
Going to hopefully start in next week or so, car is out of action which fucks things up a bit as was hoping to get up the mountains for some proper good altitudes. Would really like to compare to all the vendor synths.

Me too! I live at the foot of a mountain so only a 5 minute walk to my dead cert fields. %)
I'm actually gonna check when I get home from work this evening cos conditions here are perfect at the moment & I have a very strong feeling in my heart that they are in abundance right now! =D %)
 
perfect weather today where i live, any1 been picking yet? dunno if i want to make a small trek out?
 
Any sign around Mancland/Cheshire yet? I've seen a lot of mushroomy activity recently but nowt psychedelic yet.

We get to the field before the sun comes up sit down smoke a big bowl of weed and when the sun comes up the little bleeders all reveal themselves. We used to have a right giggle.

The hunting's all part of the fun, ain't it? And it's nice to get out of a built-up environment every now and then, even if it requires the promise of free drugs to motivate you!
 
Aww that sounds like fun that does :D Had a half hearted hunt this year but found nowt except apples and elderberries and stuff, which was still kinda cool to be honest. Weather is suggesting to me I should probably go again, though. It's just knowing where round here. Field we used to keep the horse in had loads but he's long since moved to a new yard and it's like a twenty mile round trip to the old place, which I'm not fucking walking.

Might have a scout around the new 'un though when I get chance. Got to be some hiding there.
