I think I'm the only one on the Seahawks side. I'm just counting on bad weather, a tornado of skittles propelling beast mode down the field and the fact that Manning only has one side of the field to throw to with Richard covering the left of the hash marks.
Tbh I don't think Monte Ball is gonna be able to make a difference against the Seahawks front 7 either.

It's called cover 1. He takes up an entire side of the field allowing a safety to either act as a spy, blitz, or play as hybrid lb-corner.
I don't think you ever played defense on a team with a sophisticated playbook/defensive schemes.

The reality is; is that no offensive coordinator in his right mind will throw anywhere near Sherman, leaving the other side of the owls completely loaded. Denver runs a lot of underneath routes, rubs, screens, and a few picks. Since Sherman won't be playing man to man he will be the contain man on his side of the field. Combine that with Seattles voracious front 7 and you aren't going anywhere if Welker isn't on fire.

No matter how sophisticated it is, manning's offense is more sophisticated. The only time I've really seen him baffled was against Atlanta last year, an he threw 4 int's. But that was like his third game back or something.

Anyway you're right in a sense, because even manning will not want to throw towards Sherman, but I doubt he makes the same pass that kaepernick made to end the game. I dunno. It's gonna be fun to watch, because they're both so good.

Manning throws 4-5 interceptable passes every week, ones that just hang in the air without much zip. He is only workingnwothbone true WR and a slot receiver in Welker that I one tackle away from being a vegetable in the hospital. If Denver can't lock down Lunch and Golden Tate everyone is in for a big surprise.

I think people should start learning how to play football or read a playbook before they start arguing over the dymics of offensive schemes/coverage packages.

LOL manning broke the single season touchdown record AND passing yards record.

It's quite apparent that it doesn't matter what "coverage package" or defensive scheme he plays against.

/argument

he's definitely having one of the great seasons but he's not invincible.

the same new england defense he shredded on sunday held him to just 150 yards in week 12. in week 17, the mighty oakland defense held him to 266 yards.

this season, he played powerhouse defenses like oakland (26th against the pass), philadelphia (30th), dallas (31st), jacksonville (19th), washington (22nd), san diego (29th), kansas city (23rd), new england (18th). the only top 10 passing defenses they played were houston and tennessee.

i think tom brady would have had a better year against that crap :)

they'll get a test against seattle's pass defense in the big game - the #1 unit against the pass in football this season.

Did you guys even watch the AFC Championship? Broncos D is so flawed it's funny. So many gaps, so many opportunities for scorin on defense. If Seattle can get to 21 points I think they can win.
The Legion of Doom is is so well balanced, a spectacular front 7 and the best defensive backs in the entire game. Even if Manning doesn't get sacked he will be hurried and his receivers can't keep up with the speed of his release. God damn, it's like you people never played as a defensive starter. You are spitting a lot of shit but you don't have any experience to back up your claims. Oh yeah, of Manning does get sacked, he will e hot so hard hell never throw a pass again.

I just don't see Seattle winning this game

before most of every last Super Bowl, I have sat there and meditated upon the game "which team has a better QB, and is most likely to win"

that's why I took Ravens easily over 49ers, and that's why I'm taking Broncos over Seahawks

when I first looked at the spread it was Seattle -1 now here is where its at.. thought i would be fun to see if/how it moves till the game..

Super Bowl Point Spread XLVIII (48) Super Bowl Spread
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ 2/2/14
NFL Point Spread for the Super Bowl 2014
Date & Time Favorite Spread Underdog
2/2 6:30 ET Denver -2.5 Seattle

no doubt that the Broncos D is suspect, at best

however, even more suspect is a football fan thinking that a team needs a championship caliber defense to win the Super Bowl

in today's NFL, offense and superior quarterbacking reigns supreme

and apparently this is a sign up around the Denver area, tweeted by someone driving around:

then what's the meaning of the phrase "championship caliber"? :)

there are so many ways to slice and dice this. we can agree that both offense and defense are important. although the extent to which is a potentially endless discussion. if you want to be crude about, denver has the #1 offense and the #22 defense. total 23, average 11.5. seattle is #8 and #1. total 9, average 4.5.

does the best offense and a terrible defense beat a great offense and the best defense? we'll see.

when you look solely at the numbers there's a lot missing but the fact is that denver's had such an outstanding offensive year because they have simply not been tested by great defenses...
