the 2010 NBA playoffs!

^^ yea i was about to qoute that exact couple sentences.

Fisher is clutch, he hits 3s when the team truly needs it

he may not be 'what he used to be' but how many older players are? he is a damn good player IMO

Here's a shocker!

I think that Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are pretty fucking good at basketball.

Cleveland the "league's best team?"

LeBron the "league's best player?"

Ha!

Wow it's been a while since my last visit... but it's good to see the same 'ol discussions are taking place. :)

Keep fighting the good fight LL!

cavs vs celtics tonight. pics everyone.

im going to go out on a limb and say celtics. yes i know its at cleveland, yes I know last time the cavs lost they (more specifically lebron) responded with dominance. but I have heard a lot in the media that lebron is going to be playing D on rondo for a while to stop some of his monster games.

I really thinking thats a mistake, the cavs have beaten the celtics convincingly with their current matchups switching lebron to rondo gives a sleeping pierce the chance to wake up on offence. pierce is bound to have a good game in this series and this switch just may be the catalyst. whos going to guard pierce? not jameson because garnett will then have a beast game, definetily not mo or d-west... hmm

wouldnt be suprised to see lebron go for 40 and the cavs have that mindset of we cant go into a must win situation back at boston... but there are other factors at play. either way should be a great game to watch for any basketball fan. whether your a lakers fan, celtics fan, or cavs fan

Wow... this game is a fucking disaster.

The Cavs are playing like shit, LBJ is playing like shit. The Cavs really aren't picking up the slack that Lebron's leaving behind. Jesus... pick your fucking star up. With the way Rondo is playing and the way the Cavs are playing... this game is over. Heading back to Boston... I'm all but sure this series is over. If that's the case... what a fucking shit outcome, but while nobody's really steppin up their game while Lebron's struggling, he can't be totally bitter about anything, because he's been a HUGE disappointment this series as a whole. Game three... he owned, but it's been so up and down against the Celts.

Now, that's not me completely throwin in the towel already, but I'm damn close. :|

Oh... but I will say this. IF... somehow the Cavs end up winning this series. They've got NOTHING left to even come close to beating Orlando... so yes... it will be (and I did say WILL BE) another disappointing season.

Let's give LeBron fifteen more MVP's!

CLEARLY, when a team loses 2 straight HOME play-off games by a total of FIFTY (50!) points as a ONE seed, their best player is probably the LEAGUE'S most valuable player!

Best loser EVER!

KING james.

That's all you hear.

KING james.

Let me know when he does something royal in the postseason.

My boys looked pretty good there. On the other side I'm not sure what kind of D Cleveland was playing. Everyone chase the ball didn't do shit but open up better players than Rondo. It was real nice seeing Ray Allen being playoff Ray Allen.

I often wonder if these Cleveland fans are really Cleveland fans or just lebraun fans. I mean he's probably leaving... I mean people didn't really like the bulls after Jordan and they actually won shit.;)

I like lebraun though. I think if he finds a team with a better supporting cast he'll do big things.

^^^Can't blame ya, but part of me really wants Lebron to play D'Antoni Ball with Amare...the stats could be surreal. :D

LeBron is a rare breed in that he is very good yet STILL way overrated. Never seen so much hype around one guy.

God fucking damn. Is this still the NBA playoff thread or is this yet another "I hate Lebron" thread. Sometimes I forget why I avoid this shit so much.

well normally I would agree with you because I hate how every basketball thread turns into a kobe vs lebron debate however since the cavs and celtics are currently the only active teams right now because of all the sweeps, ide say this time its legitimate conversation

the cavs are in a must win situation going to boston largely because Lebron choked in the biggest game of the season. and skinny guy rajon rando is controlling and having more impact and over the series than mr. james. this raises som HUUUUUGE questions not just about the cavs, but about what kind of player lebron is.

do the cavs have what it take to advance?

does lebron at this stage in his career have the ability to lead his team to a ring? is he merely a great regualr season player and an average playoff player?

was that his last game in cleveland?

Lebron may come back and have a monster game in boston and send it to a game 7, but these are all valid questions because of his playoff career so far. he had the oppurtunity to put the dagger in the hearts of the celtics and didnt show up/played scared

my bet says bron gets to the line about 18 times next game, if I were shaq or coach brown ide be on his ass about driving the ball to the hoop instead of shooting these long jumpers, thats never been brons game.

NSFW:
I understand what you're gettin at, but I think there's a big difference between relevant conversation about the playoffs and another pissing party with Lebron as the guest of honor. Don't get me wrong, I'm not all butt hurt about it, but it gets frustrating sometimes when I venture in here to read intelligent basketball conversation and end up with nothing but Lebron shit storms. I think it would be more pertinent to just start a Lebron hate thread so we can at least try to keep it in one place rather than in EVERY basketball related thread. If I was none the wiser, I'd swear there were fewer basketball fans than pure LBJ haters here.

/rant.

To be quite honest... I'm one who rarely gives up hope before the final buzzer, but you can see it in the Cavs' body language that they just don't have it in em. Lebron seemed completely disinterested, didn't get involved, his shooting was awful, and like you said grimble... why the FUCK didn't he go hard to the net like normal? Hell, did he drive hard to the basket once last night? And nobody ever steps up when he's off... last year was a good example... he had the 40+ point game and they STILL lost. How's that gonna happen?

You could tell early in the second quarter that Boston had that one on lock down and that was BEFORE Rondo turned it on. I know Rondo's good, but god damn he's SERIOUSLY stepped up this series. It's gonna take a herculean effort by the Cavs to combat the Celts in game six. And if by some miracle they end up winning this series... they have absolutely zero chance against Orlando. They're spent already... how are they gonna hang with arguably the best team in the NBA right now?

I'm not even gonna touch on LBJ and his future with Cleveland, but I will say this... last year, he had every right to be pissed off because nobody picked up the slack in the Orlando series while he busted his ass. This year however... he can't point any fingers because he himself hasn't stepped up. So if he does leave Cleveland, he'll be hated for not only leaving, but for the way he went out.

Well - I suppose it's only fair:

Last night, LeBron totally took the night off.

Tonight, in this thread, apparently, his apologists have taken the night off as well.

Sleep well, 61-win team on the brink of elimination in Round Two.

Ok, maybe I'm a little sensitive since my teams about to lose and I learned that the MVP really doesn't mean shit, and rings really DO matter, and the number change is coming at the same time as the contract expiration. And maybe Lebron does love to wear his Yankees hat at the most inopportune times, but man does he got game!

Just not right now.

If it makes you feel any better he'll still suck during the playoffs with his new team.
