Edibles THCP withdrawals...

I've read reports on here about the withdrawals being unusually bad, and almost benzo-like. At first I was skeptical of that, assumed they were obviously worse than weed, but not that bad.

Anyways, they really are that bad...

I've been eating these THCP gummies daily for 4 or 5 months now. I don't know the dose, but they are very strong.

The withdrawals start at about ~10 hours. You get the plethora of typical weed withdrawals, except the dysphoria is much stronger, I start getting extreme dopamine cravings, as if I was coming off coke or something... but the kicker is the intense anxiety.

Here's the weird part. The anxiety is not controlled even by high doses of benzos!? It doesn't matter how doped up on benzos I am, I will have extreme anxiety unless I take more THCP....

I've started tapering, and my plan is to eventually switch to less potent alt noids, and eventually back to regular weed.

If anyone has any experience or tips, I would gladly appreciate it. I love THCP, but the withdrawals do not make it worth it over regular weed. It actually shocked me how bad they are.

Wow, damn. That bad? I guess I'm surprised but not outright shocked, this kinda makes some of what I was going through make sense - last year and early this year I was very much abusing all the alt noids, and very much to my detriment. Reminds me of the rude awakening I got way back in the spice days, when I started having seizures, fever, etc. after it got outlawed. Fun times. I guess I won't be trying that 1g pure thc-p cart at the smoke shop.

Nothing really tried and true I could suggest, only thing I've ever had any success with is a STRONG valerian tea, as in over-steep a cup of bedtime chamomile-valerian tea, then add a double dose of valerian extract. Works okay for me but I did build immunity over time, but it's also not something you wanna do continuously, can over tax the kidneys/liver.

Hope you feel better soon bro. ❤️

It was really bad, but I cut my dose in half and 3 or 4 days later the withdrawals were back in the realm of normality for weed. It was easy to taper. None of that weird anxiety anymore.

I can't really explain that, or why benzos did not help at all. Made me think of a reverse cannabis hyperemesis syndrome or something, idk.

I was taking high oral doses for a long time, like I would literally wake up at 2am and eat one and go back to sleep. I was dosing 24/7.

Wow I didn't even know that any of the neocannabinoids could actually give you withdrawal effects. Is THC-P worth the withdrawal effects? Despite them being out for a while I've never tried any of the alternate cannabinoids and I'm wondering how they compare to regular weed.

I'd say stick to weed.

I do enjoy some of them, particularly THCP, much more than regular cannabis. But they are also more addictive, worse withdrawal, and they jack up your tolerance to regular weed like crazy. Not worth it if you have an predisposition to addiction.

I got something similar, but hugely less I'll wager, from THC-O-acetate. Taken as an edible, it took 3 hours (at least) to peak and lasted forever. Damn, it felt good. Lasted all night, more psychedelic (in the weed kind of way), I loved it. However, after 3-4 days continuous use I experienced withdrawal like I had been smoking flower for months and months. I can imagine what long term use and commensurate increasing dosage would have been.

Since this was theoretically a ∆9 effect, I think the long lasting effect was part of it since Methadone is supposed to be a worse withdrawal than Heroin for instance. Also, I think any pure cannabinoid jacks up tolerance more than flower. I've tried a lot of the smoke shop cannabinoids and my policy is to stick with flower all the way now.

I can't imagine all that and a more potent effect on the receptors as well. Holy fuck.
Not a full agonist, but heading in that direction.

"While THC is known to be a partial agonist of CB receptors with moderate affinity, THCP’s enhanced affinity for CB1 is more comparable to that of synthetic cannabinoids, which can often be full agonists at CB receptors."
