Put aside your reservations. We've established that being dead does not confer some kind of immunity from criticism. Many people who have been disliked or hated are now dead. Just because they're dead doesn't absolve them of their crimes.

"Don't speak ill of the dead" eh? Well, why not? Because they're not here to defend themselves? People spoke ill of Thatcher when she was alive without defending herself. And we've already mentioned Hitler, and could mention many other pariahs, not to compare crimes but to compare treatment after death. The rule is stupid. Ignore it.

The crowd would have been a mixture of:

1) Unemployed lay-abouts (they type who would rather lay on their backside and peel the crusted shit of their arses and flick it at the wall than do an honest day's work)

2) Unions boys who do no real work and used Thatcher's death as an excuse to skive off and cause a scene.
