Thatcher's dead

What's the main beef people have with Thatcher anyway? Granted one or two of you may have had parents who lost jobs because of her, but that can't be the case for everyone here.

This Thatcher tribalism seems mainly to be people following the herd, wanting to look cool, left wing and anti establishment.

1. She supported the retention of capital punishment
2. She destroyed the country's manufacturing industry
3. She voted against the relaxation of divorce laws
4. She abolished free milk for schoolchildren ("Margaret Thatcher, Milk Snatcher")

It's mostly northerners plebs sporting hate
 
Only time I had the smallest degree of respect for the woman who took all that was good from our nation and handed it on a plate to all that was bad was when the Brighton bomb hit. Thatcher at once ran to check Dennis in the bedroom was all right, which said something. ( unless Bern-ard made the story up. )

I suppose the best you can say for her is she believed what she was doing and was victim of a mammoth delusion. Her utter inability to understand not everyone wants to be an achiever, or why, didn't help.

Twitter was alive last night with reports and photos of folk going mad in Brixton.
Smashed shop windows, blocking streets off with bins to stop the old bill getting through and posting about a big meet up at Trafalgar Square 6pm Saturday night.
Could be another case of London's burning.
Should riot against all the benefits cuts from the current government also

I was reading some speculation about what circle of hell is Thatcher currently burning in when I remembered a Bobby Sands poem where Roy Mason approaches the pearly gates and attempts to blag his way in by blaming his sins on other people, the final verse might be adapted thus for Thatcher.

What is to be done said Peter,
Oh Lord you must contrive.
Poetic Justice, Peter, said the Lord,
Send her down to H Block Five.

And there she will stand for eternity, naked in a freezing cell and the walls encrusted with her own shite, the monotony only broken by the beatings and no friendly message will ever be tapped out on the pipes in consolation.
 
I don't really understand the celebration. Do you feel like you've won some sort of cosmic battle because I died of old age IN THE RITZ? You lost. The fact I died changes nothing about this situation. It's 30 years since I was in power, and it shows. I broke you.
