What made him go further with it? Surely not his distaste for poverty? :( Massive was an overstatement to be honest, but being a liberal enacting SOCIALIST reforms is still to a degree, socialist. I'm not sure why you can't grasp the concept. I'm not going any further into this, you don't agree, you'll never agree, so whats the point?

She was essentially a Randian, along with her economic guru - Milton Friedman. Oh, and one of her best buddies, Pinochet.

Treating people and their communities as merely numbers in a game of Galtian, supply-side, trickle-down bullshit is what got us to the fuckin' mess we're in now. Even worse, they were fuckin wrong - both Friedman and Greenspan have accepted this. Yet the filthy genie will not be going back in the lamp anytime soon. Too big to fail, ya see. Amazed earlier when some tory twat mentioned how Thatcher was a star for allowing people to own shares in companies like BT etc - we fuckin' owned them anyway u moron. The whole country! Think of that next time you open that gas/water/leccy bill, and wonder whether the CEO is worth their £2 million yearly bonus.

So instead of providing subsidies to our own nationalised industries (oh noes!) - the one's the working class peeps built those communities around - we now subsidise a bunch of money-grubbing parasites, most of whom have a real phobia of actually keeping their money in the country they feed off. Cool innit? We were had over.

And I did pretty well - from clear working class roots to (according to the class questionnaire, lol) 'established middle class'. Had fuck all to do with Thatcher or that Blair twat. I worked fucking hard - just like me Ma & Da. I could go into this more, but twats like Thatcher decimated whole communities, families, and large areas of the UK.

Can't have been all bad, I did get elected 3 times on the trot. I had no idea you guys liked working in the cold dark ground for 12 hours at a stretch so much.
