Terence Mckenna and his ideas today

I guess not all of them are scientifically valid but then again science is a fluid medium that is constantly changing, and will we ever truly know the secrets of the universe. It may just be speculation but hey, its fun to read about his ideas and then to make some of your own,

But what is truth?
there is subjective truth and objective truth.
we live in a subjective reality coexisting with many other subjective ones inside an objective reality.
I define Truth as the objective reality.
But no one has total truth as we all see thru our own subjective reality into the objective.
it gets distorted and/ or biased...

Yawn. He really did go insane.
Too bad, he was a smart guy with good ideas for awhile
sanity is relative.
and i think his sane or insane ideas is what made him who he was. IT was a strength not a weakness
:)

Amen to that. I will never feel your pain or happiness and you will never feel my exact pain or happiness or orgasm or my trips, etc.

That is the beauty of life. All organisms have the same goal in life, which is to live, but we all do it in different ways.

And i agree with you about nobody ever understanding total truth due do us living through our own subjective realities.

ypur personal expierence is what should matter most.

i do enjoy getting different ideas from people though.

but my ideas and reality is based on my own personal expierence, not others.

Yeah man I totally agree with you. Of course our personal experiences should matter the most, I just mean its kinda cool to experience other people's way of life which is why I love traveling around the world so much and experiencing different cultures. But yeahh, i dont base my entire realities on the works of other people which is why I admire McKenna and other psychonauts but take it with a grain of salt and dont base my life off of their experiences, findings, etc.

Wow. Well one thing that I never realized before, but its so easily understood now is - even though i've always grown up a science freak, programming a computer when i was 3, electronics and computers and how they work its all just as interesting BUT, i realized i have to admit something.

Science is no better than any religion. Its based on faith. Think about it, maybe some (what i would call 'minor now' but lets pretend i didnt say that, i just am able to see it get more and more minor but since its not my point..) differences.

What.? You can prove science really, but you can't prove religion or spirituality really? I love science, we use it. Its kinda like the religion we happen to choose to (almost all of us making it seem even more true) believe, out of them all (science + other religions but find me a christian that says i'm wrong, then ask them, ..am i sitting on..a chair? yes? no? whats this chair? anyway if we break a chair down and talk about all of what it is, we're prolly gonna start talking science, believe "oh, yeah atoms, but really, they start doing that quantum stuff eventually" *whatever*)

Its just some 'so obvious' thing now how could i think science is like white spirituality black when the entire game is all based on faith anyway. Your science professor went to school for 12 years, you saw him with your own eyes really? If not, its just like saying well hey my pastor's been doing his bible jesus stuff for like 20 years of course i trust what he tells me.

Why does "logic" have to be "vs" "i know it, so there"?

lol, anyway question,

i said all this theories have substantial credibility since obviously some of them are a little wrong (like the time wave theory)

Whats wrong with it do you think, are you talking about that little math he got wrong where the day landed on the 22nd or something?

Check this out, put in some dates related to you and your own personal life, or maybe the world/country/whatever, here's the "5th day" of the maya's calendar (took a couple screenshots long time ago) www.whatthehellisup.com/timewave.html

I think Benjaman Franklin's own 64 numbers (whatever they are!) line up i guess 'more sharply' but thats just what seems to look best, but watching this chart every once in a while and then looking at whats goign on around the world it sure looks like a pattern to me (but then you can just tell me "well if you look for it you'll find it) well try it or dont its interesting when its right on often i think or is it not (show me?), so far so good..

--- You know one particular date that SO many people seem to just KNOW about, post yes you do if you do but the date(s) of 7/6 to 7/7, like, sure a smashing pumpkins album comes out maybe, and whatever else, or 7/7/07, i dunno, but no something on the 6th just sticks out in my head, i dont know why, and when i aks my friends they say the same thing, yeah, something big, is coming 7/6 or 7/7, some guy on AIM even gave me a ;) and told me 7:07am, 'coincidentally' keep seeing 6:07, or just 7:06 then it changes to 7:07 (am/pm) before this (always see certain #s on things daily now, not that i pay as much attention i cant do that but yeah just enough), well, i've made a few posts about 7/6 or 7/7 and the 7:06 time thing, if something "big" enough does happen, yes could be totally random (well i do not believe anymore in random, anything anymore just saying) event, a "coincidence" (hahaha), or some syncronicity and maybe we'll find out. I've asked enough people who said yeah that day big big, so if anyone in this thread reading this had the same date floating around lets hear it, no contest just .. also heard something about Las Vegas, and 777, maybe money, what i dunno.. ok, sorry back on topic (f&b , damn you and your desoxy! lol j/k.... sorry i forget while fried good adn babble..)

Back to the topic i've not really read much (maybe any) of Mckenna's stuff, but i've seen lots of video's on youtube etc, and there's one i can't find now for some reason, McKenna and Ram Dass, having Tea at thsirestruant, it was kinda funny , yes McKenna the little i've seen he does seem like he thought "psychedelics yes save the world with them", while Ram dass was just ... so cool there, meditating all the time, he was asked something about 2012 and if humanity can make it through (well we're all dying but i guess wake up in time) without psychedelics or do we need them, Ram Dass steps back a little and thinks, and just says.. welll..i see it could go either way -

I totally agree with that.. either way.. Sometimes all this psychedelic use can hold you back really, im guilty though i finally found a spice stash and its like half gone (well first pull not that much, ...really... ). But man, psychedelics NOW, to be honest, mostly just kinda distort things (dmt excluded, its just fuckin different completely) but sober or on anything non-psychedelic, i still see numbers on the clocks all day, someimes incredibly clear colorful vision, i see the veil being slowly lifted... on and off... just right.. when its lifted good, manifestations appear faster after thinking also, no drugs needed, against my ego lol i think i'm better overall without psychedelics, seen about all i can see, now i can see more without them, things are changing... fast...

Kinda like all of us are very near the event horizon of the black hole of evolution or something.. don't expect your money (just my guess ) to be worth a damn thing in.. mid.... late 2009 i think is kinda late it'll be crashed by then (guess lets see how close i am with that? ..) Whole new system of doing everything is already here, while the old is too though. Prophecy gets easier and easier closer to the end.. start to know what others are thinking, or they know whts in your head, without trying, start talking but outta your head, peoople freaking out, indigo people its a label sure but i got no iddea how this 14 year old just came up and told me she's an indigo / crystal hybrid from another dimension
wants to go home etc, that ain't even 0.1% of it i might as well just ziiip.

You know there's a lot besides bluelight to discuss crazy shit, http:/zaads.org , get a laugh here: http://galacticdiplomacy.com or http://www.lawoftime.org/2012/telektonon-prophecy.html

god, myspace years ago i said no never me but fuck yes, myspace.com/radio879 there's so many girls on there, nearby, so many, i mean old (ahem, sorry... 50s? how about that.. or 40's.. middle aged.. that works) middle aged guys and gals are on there all the time, fun way to meet locals in the U.S. Off topic (i blame desoxy and f&b for talking too much about it! hehe :) ) anyway, havent read, but what video i've seen of Mckenna, i dont see anything bad about him,

nobody's perfect, shit, people like him and leary and you and me exist for some reason (me, dunno haven't figured that one out yet..), what i've seen him talk about he's humorous (maybe more for the time period) i mean he sure sounds like he's doing it for more than any money or fame, he's just being himself is that so bad? man, i have to download some torrents for work.. whoops..took a bit much desoxy, and got desexified ohh.. naaw no mdpv so i'm not..:(

ain't it kinda wild? there's like millions of different yet similar sites, it just keeps going like this, try to finish all of this, who spent the time? and when?

http://www.keylonticdictionary.org/Words/A/Ascension.htm

(find the end of that!). No where did i said i believe anything i have no time to read 50,000,000,000 new websites like that a day, almost like it was hidden from my view until i unleashed a very simple, basic, start page at whatthehellisup.com never finished it (the "idea" was enough...think i got the point or close to the point maybe, just that everything exists already, 2012 is kinda now besides the clocks and stuff, everything ever invented is here, just look for it, ("come up with that unique, special to you, idea ;) " suddenly they're all over, or after a few days or something). ((try it with some software you wish existed... think about it if it isn't there, wait like a week but think about it, maybe draw it on paper, software that does this that and is free then gogoe it)) works for me usually.

--- lot got suddenly chopped off, probably the 2012 aliens tellingme to go off and get some work done while i'm energetic... :)

Sir Terrence mcCannot and Mr Limited Theory , the two 60's-guru's who in the end got somethings right and somethings wrong.

both interesting beings , both interesting minds and great story tellers.

funny thing is that one of terrence most sold books "Food of the Gods" , is more or less written about his brother Dennis experiments with hallucinogens.

Me thinks Dennis is more the scientist and Terrence was more the dreamer.

Aren't you confusing 'Food of the Gods' with 'Invisible Landscape'?? And invisible landscape was written by both of them anyway. And it wasn't just Dennis' experiments, they both did the experiments, but Dennis was the only one who went fully psychotic

What's wrong with dreaming? Sounds like an negative ego-trip, when people rail against someone who is not around to defend himself. Most people who put down Terence are usually rather vague, too. Granted, no-one is perfect, and if Terence was around I doubt he'd say otherwise, either. I do think he showed vision by devoting most of his energy to "drugs" like DMT and psilocybin which are so close to normal everyday consciousness, that it's almost scary, and definitely "weird" and bemusing.

terence was/is way ahead of his time. His major at UCB was conservation of natural resources, and with so much attention focused on global warming, these days, maybe we should thin k about conservation of OUR natural resources.

Personally, i don't quite grok Timewave zero, other than it does allude to the DMT experience, without haveing any One "end-date", but death does happen, and I can attest that it is definitely a novel event, and that the level, and occurence, of novelty increases exponenetially, and approaches(reaches?) infinity when the body releases DMT from teh pineal at that fateful moment(or we get a good hit of DMT in that little glass pipe). :)

specialr

nope, food of the gods , where they go and try to fing yage and ayahuasca in the amazone , but find mushrooms instead and Dennis sees a UFO on it.

(no bigfoot involved)

(and i'm actually just being ironic.....love both the writings of Terrence and Timothy)

Ummm, they do that in invisible landscape too then. They go on a week long mushroom binge in a little Amazonian villiage. No wonder they're crazy. Who's mind could take that much.

Food of the Gods is about the history of mankind from a drugs perspective, starting with the bemushroomed apes and ending in modern times

you are thinking of 'Invisible Landscape', and the simplified version of Invisible Landscape, 'True Hallucinations', about their adventures in the Amazon

Food of the Gods is the one about psilocybin mushrooms as the evolutionary agent responsible for the catalysation of human consciousness. pretty BS imo, but an interesting read anyways.

damn , you are right ,
it's in true hallucinations,
foolish of me.

sowwy.

personally i think Terence Mckenna is the best spokesman for the psychedelic mindset, noone says it better than he does

I don't know what anyone could possily add to what Mckenna said though,. and also, thanx to the internet, Mckenna pretty much lives on
