Benzos Temazepam dosage - less is more?

Having had a script for 30mg temazepam daily for the last 4-5 months or so, I've had the opportunity to experiment with all kinds of dosages and redosing methods and whatnot. I've taken up to 150-210mg spread out over a day, sometimes 120-150mg all at once, but one thing I definitely have noticed, with temazepam, is that less seems to be more.

What I mean by that is, I seem to get more out of a 60mg dose than I do out of a 120mg dose, almost as if there was a "sweet spot" dose that's just perfect for you (which, of course, will vary from individual to individual), and taking more seems to be pretty much just a waste.

What are your thoughts on that? What is your usual temazepam dosage? 60mg gets me right where I want to be, gets me that amazing, perfect, dreamy euphoria, sense of disinhibition, talkativeness and overall mood-lifting effects that I seek, which makes temaz one of my all-time top favorite drugs of mine.

7.5mg is the most ideal dose for me. %)

I tried taking 15mg at once, too much. The most I've done otherwise was 15mg spread out throughout the day, which worked fine, but I prefer a single 7.5mg dose.

I also noticed waiting 1 or 2 days in between experiences is the best, euphoric/recreational wise. I have used it several days in a row, you do gain some tolerance to the euphoric effects that way. But when I take a day or two off, the best effects are there again.

I think you could be right OP, in a way anyway. I do think that past a certain dose, it is a waste either because you'll just fall asleep or you'll black out and not remember a thing.
As for yourself 60mg is usually perfect for me too, but sometimes 40mg does the trick (depending on Benzo tolerance).

I get a lovely, snuggley feeling, a bit of warmth, lovely relaxed muscles, evaporation of all anxiety and a slight euphoria which, coupled with the all the other feelings of worries and muscles melting away, combines for a very nice feeling overall
Also, it's a fucking godsend during Opiate withdrawals...

Cpt. - I'm extremely envious of your minute tolerance to Benzos! :D (atleast Temazepam it seems). Have you always had such a small tolerance to Temaz/Benzos in general?
Because when I first used Temaz for sleep I was given 10mg and that was only just enough. I barely drank at that time either so had no tolerance to other GABA-related compounds.
Oh, and I definitely agree that using it then taking a day or two without it keeps the feeling as lush as ever.

60-90 mgs is usually awesome, more than that and i'd be asking for trouble.

the first time i ever did temazepam was phenomenal. i had already had experience with a few benzos (lorazepam, alprazolam, clonazepam, diazepam, and oxazepam)...but, tolerance was still kinda low and the first time i did temazepam i took one 30 mg cap and boy it was the most intense feeling of utter relaxation, anxiety/worry free, sedated and calming feeling i had ever experienced. it was very euphoric.
now though, it's still my fav, but it has never ever been as good as the first time i did it.

it was love after first try...from then on i knew temaz would be my benzo of choice.

I sure have. Here's a similar dosage of a relative benzo I would take:

alprazolam - 0.5mg
diazepam - 5mg
flurazepam - 3 to 5mg oral, 1 to 3mg IV'd (i prefer the oral route - longer lasting)
lorazepam - 1mg (sublingually)
loprazolam - 0.3mg IV'd
midazolam - 2mg IV'd
temazepam - 7.5mg (which is the equivalent of 3.75mg diazepam)
triazolam - 0.25mg (sublingually)

I am generally very sensitive to amphetamine/meth, cocaine, opiates, benzos, alcohol (i never consume it now, haven't for a long time), nicotine (i never consume it now), psychedelics (all of them), MD series chemicals.

I think Cannabis is the only thing I actually have a 'normal endogenous tolerance' to.

Wow, that's rather incredible. The only other Benzo on that list I've taken is Diazepam, which I usually have to take around 10-20mg (relevant to tolerance) to get similar effects. Probably due in part to get just enough Temazepam as a metabolite from it. But most of the time I get even more sedated from such a dose of Diaz than I do the equivalent Temaz dose.

I think I've a relatively moderate/normal tolerance to the other substances you mentioned but nothing in the realm of "high tolerance" to any. The only classes of which my tolerance could be considered really low would probably be Alcohol (dislike it most of the time but sometimes like the odd glass of wine or bottle of perry aka. pear cider) and Hallucinogens (30 Liberty cap shrooms is plenty enough, and half a tab of LSD had me experiencing light visuals that I've never experienced since [which is sad] and a full tab going fairly strong for 12hrs with a fucked up comedown).
Oh! Infact, the first time I took Codeine, I took 4 Nurofen + (51.2mg of Codeine overall) all my social anxiety melted away and I found myself chatting to a couple of mates like a very relaxed Cokeface lol... (This is like some odd, Anti-matter, flip-reversal of dick-sizing :D )

The odd thing about Temaz is that I took 10mg for a while and it began not to cut it enough to get sleep. So I took a good 3-4 months off then tried it again, but still it was not enough for sleep. In the end I managed to get my doc to up it to 20mg which, if tolerance is low enough, will still just about push me off to sleep.

I've read a few anecdotes on here about a Benzo tolerance happening just as I've experienced but I would love to know if there's any known mechanics behind it. My "pluck-from-the-air" guess would be receptor down-regulation. But, if anyone can shed some juxtaposed "solid light" upon this impolite, party-crashing issue, I'd be grateful

My ideal dose for day is 15mg. That amount makes me feel good, peaceful and still able to function while feeling not a care in the world. For night time I take 30mg which pretty much knocks me out in 25 minutes-keep in mind I'm already a bit tired, the temaz just helps me out. I probably COULD take 15mg at night with similar effects. I agree that less is more. Too much and I believe it's just being wasted as I'd be too out of it to enjoy it at all. I like to be 'aware' .

im jealous of all you lot with your sensible tolerance levels.

how long until i begin to get my tolerance levels back to 'sensible' levels again.

ive been a once a week user for the past 5-6 months,started off binging on about 20 tabs,then this recently escalated to over 100 tabs a weekend.

Make sure that when you decide to give it a rest, that you keep a few around just to get rid of any rebound anxiety you'll experience.

Benzo tolerance is a weird one to be honest mate...
Most of what I've read / heard from people that it takes a very long time (months up to a year) to get down to a significant amount that it will be worth taking them again.
But don't expect miracles however long you abstain. You'll never, ever get down to baseline

infact if i take more than 30, ever, even several hours after my initial 30 MG dose, it seems like my high seems to decrease, and negative effects increase

even though 30MG dont get me high anymore, even when i try to take more than that i just get negative effects, and methadone used to be my fav drug, now only like 120-160 MG of crushed oxy will get me high

I'd imagine everyone's different. It just seems to be a common occurrence that Benzo takes stupidly long to lower

I too am jealous of CH's ridiculously low fucking tolerance to virtually every single drug.

I, on the other hand, build tolerance to everything stupidly fast, I barely get any kicks out of my daily 80mg methadone + 2mg clonazepam + 30mg temazepam combo (all legally obtained). So I'll usually take a few days off, sometimes up to a week, maybe, maybe two, and then I'll take 2-4mg clonaz or 60-90mg temaz and I'll get that warm fuzzy euphoria once again. Of course I can't do the same for methadone, since, being on MMT, I need to take it daily without fail.

..but methadone is ...methadone (?). I'd say doses of methadone are not even comparable (in experience and 'less is more') to that of benzos.

Benzos don't really appeal to me but 90-120mg makes me euphoric and floaty, only benzo I really enjoy a bit at least besides diazepam (Valium). Benzos aren't really my thing, I'm pretty much a use as prescribed guy when it comes to them, will abuse once in a blue moon honestly. Doing stupid shit and amnesia aren't my cup of tea 8).

Indeed. Sometimes the subtlety can only be recognized until you experience the conditions that it's supposed to be prescribed for.

I agree man, all 3 is the best relief you can get from it. Recently I have been very anxious/stressed and not sleeping so it's been very great. Now I'm less anxious/less insomnia, so I'm taking a few days off.

I'm prescribed the clonazepam for anxiety, I use it as a very last resort not wanting to become dependent on them, already being heavily dependent on opiates for pain management (presribed 280mg oxycodone a day, 3 80's 4 10's, and have trouble staying within prescribed amount still, always running out early and having to "supplement") so a poly-drug addiction isn't something I'm real interested in picking up ya know. Same with temazepam, use rarely as prescribed, even more rare recreationally. Benzo buzz just isn't my thing but I my opiates. Mmmm...
