Tell us about the bluelight you joined.

Back in my day the men twirled the poi, the monkeys were mad, the rococco was rushing, the chicks were nocturnal, and the bass was super.

And all hell broke lose when you couldn't order a taco.

*There were lots and lots of NRG hate threads :p. Also a lot of discussion about Will E Tell. There were lots of *fake* alias' created. Those that come to mind are WillETell, Millsy, Oakenfold. There are lots more.

hehe I remember Wet Musik coping flak for liking Will E Tell - he kinda just disapeared?

Twas the Summer of 69... ummm, 2003 I mean (hang on, I just checked and it was Spring... the shitty joke no longer applies :\ *sigh*).
The only thing I've noticed is I get less 'warnings' from Mods telling me things i've done wrong... and once you've been on BL a few months it seems people are more friendly toward you.
You feel less like a person impeding on BL as a part of BL.
I'm sure everyone treated me with open arms but it was a little creepy at the beginning.
Sorry, a little off topic, but I was going somewhere.
BL as a community has changed for me, although it's still the same in relation to content (give or take a few new forums), but as they say, it's still early days.
=D
PEACE

Sllip: i remember the taco bring it back i say!

I also remember when i called somebody a condescending wonker and pleo posted a pic of willy wonka that was gold!

Ahh. . .*breaks into that memories song from CATS*

Back in the day, I too found Bluelight through Pillreports. I made a nuisance of myself and lived in the Perth Pills thread in ADD, that's all I was interested in. I remember lurking for ages, snagging my nick (Couldn't believe it wasn't taken! :)) and making my first post raving about the first batch of pink domes ever to hit our city and how they were the best pills I'd ever had, which they were. People flamed to the shit house and called me a drug dealer trying to talk up my wares. I laughed when "hard cunts" came back with stories of how double dropping pu them in the kitchen big time. . .*quivers* damn they were good.

BT was my hero. . .he knew everything! So I endeavoured to do as much research as I could about every single drug I ever took/wanted to take. I now owe my fairly considerable knowlegde of drugs to him. . .Thanks BT :)

It wasn't for ages that I found social, and when I did, I posted sparingly. Now however, I'm quite frequent and enjoy it.

I met heaps of BL'ers at TT 2003. I remember somebody in a Hot Sluts T-shirt he was great I was too mashed to remember his name though ;) sorry! 1234, damn we were loose :) yeah it was good times!

At Kabuki 3.0 - Paul Van Dyk, I either met BT or Mr. Horse, once again, I can't remember, but I doubt they remember me either!

I've met a couple of others, but not for ages. . .maybe it's time for a Melbourne meet-up! :)

^^^^ hot sluts sounds like the infamous SupaDiscoBreaker!

I remember the flaming back in tha good ol days- everybody is just too damn nice these days! bring back the flaming!

for me,
I pretty much lurked then and i lurk now,

one thread i do remember is when PhreeeX (i think) started his thread about getting girls for his rave porno line of vids, pretty funny.

when i started, there was no "JOIN", it was posting on bluelight.net/mdma... PILL REPORTS BAYBEE. there was no bluelight.ru. then i remember a shady BBS-ware that only lasted a few months, then the UBB, then we switched to this vbulletin as "the NEW bluelight"... member #114. that's me. old sch00l.

Bump... For the newschoolers who aren't newschool anymore ;) And for those that had valid email addresses and didn't lose their passwords in the VBulletin 3.5 copyover, or those who did too.

BT :)

the bluelight i joined was back when mp and keystroke were living together... didn't that end well ;)

i had a different name for a year before this one, and i rarely posted. the bluelight i remember the best was green, and the trip reports were top notch :)

The bluelight I joined was the one... ummm... before the last major format change ;). Been here about 1.5 years now!

Oh.. and the people were crazy. They don't seem so crazy anymore but maybe I'm just lost in the sea of craziness. Which is probably the likely option.

* Lots more meetups
* Definatley more snobby, but who cares its the way we liked it, the community seemed to be closer anyway (unsure if thats actually true or not)
* Horsey's mom was a celebrity (nfi how that started)
* You could fax acid
* Much more open about drug usage
* A lot more kudos and review threads re: parties
* Ruski and Bunny were still around
* Bunny was a virgin (Bluelighter)
* dim_mak was called sifu_elver, but hes now called sifu_elver again, go figure :)
* chemical_nights bulberator was the size of a weather balloon when at max capacity
* Enlighten had less of a presence then it does now (IMO anyway)
* JB posted a whole heap more (but who reads his nonsense anyway)
* Aus Social had just sorta begun and was filled with less bullshit
* I didn't deny being a Bluelighter when asked at a party
* Wild Things II was one of the biggest BL meetups to date
* The EC threads were a whole lot bigger
* There seemed to be more rampant MDMA usage rather than rampant Meth usage
* The board software was totally different, colour scheme was different (but that could be said if you joined about 6 weeks ago too I guess)
* Everyone just seemed to be getting to know each other

Can't remember a lot about it. I remember Psychokitten moderated Aus. Social and she was mean, overbearing bitch (personal opinion of course).

I'm sure no-one payed any attention to my posts for a long time (and I'm not sure that has changed much :)).

Well, my recollection is a little hazy, but I started off looking at ED, Health and Aus DD. Back then, at least half the moderators were completely inactive, not at all like these days when you get your ass fired for not turning up to work at BL8) I spent a lot of time in health Q & A, until one day they needed some mods and fairnymph and I got the jobs. I couldn't believe it - the awesome responsibility! I was so chuffed.

Back then BL ran like a commune. There were lots of well meaning folk, but while some people did the hard yards, others sat on their hairy arses and kicked back. Then one day, the commune was privatised and the managers went corporate. Lots of people were fired. Some resigned. Some stayed. I stopped posting when motherhood became my priority, but I'd stopped enjoying the work too. I couldn't justify spending an hour or more trying to provide a well researched response in Health Q & A, and couldn't be bothered with the new job description from management. Maybe I'd accept that in a paid job, but not as a volunteer...I also remember dealing with abusive users, and later abusive moderators as a Supermod.:(

I do remember fondly the many discussions about being jaded in Aus DD, and the debate about the appropriateness of the taco. And NRG was indeed shite. I also remember all the Americans with names that utilised variations of pornstar (what was up with that?)
