Took my car in for a "major service" today at 8AM. You know when it says major service it is going to cost a fortune and was prepared to hear $500 but no....try $800! I need to get it done because I am going to be driving 700 miles up north and 700 back through the mountains and I will feel lots better knowing my tires and brakes have been looked at and everything is in working order. I get really nervous whenever I make this drive but winter really scares me. I do love the scenery though and just getting out of town. The minute I leave the town limits I feel everything lift off my shoulders and I can just settle into being in my little tin can with all my favorite music. I like that part. And I haven't seen snow in a few years so that will be exciting!:)

Getting away is always a good thing. Knowing your car is good for the trip will certainly ease your mind knowing you're safe. Road trips are so fun - I love driving. I just like to zone out, focus on the scenery & blast my music. Snow is so pretty and serene. It's supposed to snow here today so I'm hoping we get a decent amount. I love the pure, white, untouched beauty of fresh snow. I hope you have a safe trip! :)
 
^ i am preparing to road trip across the country.... around 35 hour drive from florida to colorado... i am not excited.... being 5 months pregnant does not make the experience more fun sounding either lol.....
at least i can eat a lot of waffle house along the way!!!

stay away from the st Louis area as we only have like 3 waffle houses here :/
 
Congrats Michael. You sound just like me. Longest I held a job down previously was about 18 months, usually just a few months before getting sacked, fastest was I think 3 days. 8) Benn at my place over 6 years now. Should have been sacked a hundred times of course these past few so not sure how much can be said to have really changed up to now? ;)
 
Got my disability and medicare benefits re-instated yesterday, since they got temporarily terminated during my incarceration. So that made my mood improve a bit. Now I can resume seeing my therapist and get back on meds because my bi-polar/anxiety/ptsd has been out of control since I got home from prison. I also have an interview tomorrow to find out whether or not this residential treatment program is going to accept me; I hope they do. It's one of the best ones in NJ and I am praying they take me.
 
Oh no way? Almost embarassed to admit this but I'd not even picked up you'd been down BDP. I've been spending less time in OD than I thought, clearly, you're fixtures and fittings man, you'd think I'd have spotted that? 8) Just had to read back to see what the score was. All OK in there? No major dramas? Nothing better than being back out those first few days is there, it's like you got your life back all of a sudden. Good luck man!

every day is the longest I have ever had a job. it is both great and sad at the same time. after 365 I started getting angsty...

Can't drive it until I get some money to have it fixed.

I've been getting slammed with financial difficulty this Christmas.. Can't wait until its all over.

Ugh I'm sorry :( that's a huge fear of mine...almost irrational. I'm in tons of debt too so I know that feeling...hopefully a bag full of money flies in our homes :)
 
Yeah that would be quite ideal.
My dad gave me some money this morning to help out a little.
I feel so bad accepting money from him, but he's so nice and insisted. I really hope it makes a difference.

Nah. Zombies are gonna have problems of their own when they're wading through molten lava up to their necks with more raining down from the sky on their swedes.

I'm looking forward to the end of the world as we know it. Save me a fortune on the last minute shopping at the weekend! Knowing my luck I'll survive it and have to go scavenging instead. Bit like in Fallout 3 maybe. Quite fancy meself as an armed to the teeth wanderer of the wastelands, be fun that. Game made it look good anyways. =D
 
The commencement ceremony for tomorrow has been cancelled, not just postponed but completely cancelled. We're gonna have a blizzard. I was actually gonna go and have my cap and gown hanging up in the guest room all set and everything, but I guess now I don't have to. Well played, Mayans =D
 
Aw, no way. After you psyched yourself up for it and everything? Can't believe they wouldn't reschedule it tho, why not? Would have thought there'd be mad clamour for it from student body and family alike?
 
I am kind of surprised that they haven't rescheduled it for right away. I'm guessing they might just let us walk in May with next semester's graduates? I'm just gonna let my cat take over the gown and my boyfriend said he'd use the cap as a hat for when it rains :D
