I like spätzle, its just hard to find 'round here, and I don't like making my own..... much easier to do is my own blutwurst, kräuter-butter, sauer-kraut, & neuwein...
I lived & played in the the basic equivalent of the Ozarks & Apallachian mountains.... the Pfälz and Odenwald.... mostly by rad, zug, and outright wandering on foot.

So I stayed away from Bavarian, Swabian, and Turkish / Döner kebap food of the metro German areas.... and developed a powerful taste for real absinthe as well.. Die Grüne Engel.... as well as frischen Nord See fisch coming up the Rhine to the markets..... and the käse, und bier, und Gasthauses, und und.......

Although..... my Great-Grand Oma makes some mean Ukrainian..... they were Germans living in Russia who fled Stalin's collectivization of the farms into communes, and my other side fled the Nazis because they just outright sucked..... and the family saw what was coming.

wooo it's the long weekend. wish I had money to go to a few of the amazing parties but I'd rather be bombing down the mountain on my bike :D

the adrenaline high is so much better than any drug ever- no comedown, hangover, side effects, and it's just a whole lot of fun. hope I can make it up there!!

I've got my own long weekend here because I took today off work. Let's just say that it's in honour of Canada Day ;)

It's a day off, and happens to fall on a Friday this year, so everyone gets a proper 3-day weekend. Woo!

Speatzle is like a cross between a dumpling and a noodle. It's pretty boss.

Planking is a goofy thing where you lie down in a place where you're not supposed to lie down, and someone takes a photo. Often includes across gaps, or balanced precariously.
 
Haha planking sounds awesome. I need to just get a damn camera and start taking photos of various absurdities I find.
 
last night i had fun with my friends without drugs for the first time in years. it felt like such an accomplishment.

Wait......what?? You mean to tell me that you guys don't get the full 3-day weekend if the national holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday?? That the "public holiday" continues to just be a normal Sat or Sun if it coincides with that day?!

Outrageous!!!

Here in Aus, if ANY public holiday falls on a weekend-day, we get the Monday off as the "public holiday" day.

I'm not sure why but this whole planking thing delights me to no end. I like just absurdity. So the more planking pics the better!
