Ocean-- Apparently both "the Sun and [my] Ascendant are in Virgo". I don't know what that means, but this is from a summary of a 'full reading' of my chart that my Mom received as a gift when I was born. Unfortunately the person who wrote it is estranged from us, so I can't ask her personally for clarification.
I tried reading the Wikipedia article on ascendants, but couldn't make heads or tails of it. I'll have to try again when I'm a bit better rested. From what I was able to gather, at my time of birth the sun was in Virgo and Virgo was rising. Is that what it means?

Yes, us Virgos have a particular "look" about us...
Those who are born under the jurisdiction of Virgo are usually graceful and charming with well-proportioned figures. Miss Hollywood, I highly suggest you credit the person that alleges to have written this though I have my doubts (and didn't do a very good job - the word is "decanate"). I have studied astrology for many years and, as with any other discipline, plagiarism is highly frowned upon.
Your Rising Sign/Ascendant will usually determine more of your physical appearance than Sun Sign.
