Awwww so pretty!!! What breed is she?

Thank You! She is a mix between a rott and a german shepherd , she was brought to my door by a friend who found her and said "hey you want a dog" which was perfect because our first dog named Jazmine died in 2007 she was 13 she was a collie, shep mix and very smart but with Lizzy has an attitude problem, she reminds me of a junk yard dog, but I teach all our animals so she is also smart but moody at times and an awesome watch dog, no one can dare enter this house when she is in the house she really doesnt like people, but likes other dogs so that is her only problem otherwise she is a loveable fat dog. She weighs almost 90 pounds now and is 6 years old.

stardust I just adore your passion and enthusiasm for dogs hun!! <3
I kno right she wrote me a wonderful post on dog food which was really informative i may try some of her suggestions on changing brands for my problem child lol i just have to find something that is lamb and rice only cause everything has corn and he is allergic to corn apples potatoes, chicken beef venison alot of grains and soo many other thing i have a list of like 400 allergies and he tested positive for almost 100 things its just rediculous he is like having a drug habbit hes a 90pount pit he EATS and its 45-50$ for a 40 pound bag and the bags dont last long. It would almost be cheaper to go holistic and buy lamb meat and rice and make him dinner like everyone els.

Aw thanks n3o <3. Dog love comes natural. =D

I'm so happy you listened to some of my advice. Just be careful of what vets say :). Just like doctors, when they don't really know what's wrong because of limited knowledge on a subject, they can misdiagnosed. Science Diet is a favorite cure-all of vets for all dog allergies.

My mother went to an allergy specialist for years to get shots for everything under the sun to cure her ailments. There is apparently an allergy scale from like 1-5, 5 being most allergic and they said she was a number 2 allergic to chicken, shrimp, and a whole slew of other things. We later found that the food was not her problem at all. Vets get a crash course on dog nutrition and most of the education is old and out dated with many of our older vets. It's a recent thing focussing on better nutrition for dogs.

Dogs are natural carnivors I really wouldn't be surprised if it was another ingredient completely that was causing the problem (ahem--corn gluten meal). If you look into Orijen, it has been the pet food of the year for the past 3 years. When you receive the bag it is vacuum sealed in a silver lined matte finish bag with basically every language available on the back. THe amount of care they put into the product is obvious the second you see the bag. It has been awarded several rewards, the most notable was the Glycemic Research Institute of Washington, DC.

Ingredient List

Orijen:
MEAT ( 80% )
All dogs are adapted for a diet rich and diverse in meat proteins — not grains and plant proteins. With 80% of poultry, eggs, meat and fish, ORIJEN features high ratios of meat and protein to mirror the natural diet.

A VARIETY OF FRESH MEATS (6)
The natural diet is seasonal and diverse, so ORIJEN features 6 fresh meats, including free-run chicken and turkey, chicken liver, and whole eggs, and a superb selection of wild-caught fish — all delivered fresh each day!

FRUITS and VEGETABLES ( 20% )
In place of high-glycemic grains such as corn, wheat or white rice, ORIJEN features a full complement of regional fruits and vegetables. While providing a limited amount of carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables provide important vitamins, minerals and protector nutrients in a natural and bioavailable form.

GRAIN-FREE (0)
ORIJEN is grain-free and carbohydrate-limited to match the natural diet of dogs.

FRESH FISH (2)
ORIJEN features freshwater and saltwater fish — harvested responsibly within our region and DELIVERED FRESH, so they’re loaded with natural, non-rendered Omega-3 (DHA, EPA).

All ORIJEN foods are free of plant oils such as sunflower, flax, coconut or canola oils all of which provide Omega-3 in a form that is ineffective for dogs.

Tell me which list you can identify more ingredients, and which ingredients are from natural herb, vegetable, meat, vitamin/mineral substance. ;) There is an obvious difference between the two.

My boyfriends mother feeds science diet and she lives in the same house as us. It's hard to keep our guys from sneaking bites of that. They prefer the science diet because science diet puts flavor enhancers in the food to make it taste more appealing to the dogs. I equate it being similar to delicious junk food vs. healthy foods with humans.

When the zombie apocalypse happens or there's an ice age and we have to hide in caves I'm going to survive off Orijen dog food. :P

I'm also pretty educated on RAW feeding (feeding your dog fresh meats) if you want some info on that ;). And no feeding ONLY lamb meat and rice would not fulfill his nutritional needs. Dogs need both meat and bone (for calcium substance). That's why they use whole chicken meal containing both meat and bone.

HAHAHAHA!!!!!! That cat makes me howl! I know he/she is probably yawning but what a belly laugh it looks like. Your tortoise is magnificent. How long have you had him? He looks quite jaunty with the grass sticking out his mouth.:)

Seriously, I would love to have this picture of your cat to whip out whenever anyone says something really stupid.=D

I've had the tortoise maybe 4 or 5 years now, he's got anothr 10 plus years of growing left. He'll max out @ 200 lbs the most..the pictures don't do him justice.. Ill see if I can find a bettr one to accentuate his size. He's huge and the holes he digs are amazing.. They're both "hims.". The cat picture would be good for lol cats..

More 2 come.
