Well said, Ketamike. I tend to focus on the end-stage of my addiction, when dope was in total control, when it had stopped giving me any pleasure, when I could not live without it. But there was a long period before that when heroin worked wonders in my life, gave a weird kind of energy, relaxed me, helped me work, gave me social confidence, made me look better (I have the photos to prove it) I started using because it worked! I could afford it, I could get it easily with little or no risk. After a couple of years long frantic, manic, binge on coke, expending vast amounts of money and energy doing absolutely nothing, I was so happy to turn to a drug that seemed to work with my life and not against it. Boy was I wrong on that score, in the long run, but that's the thing, that's why we're all here on bluelight, DRUGS WORK.
HEROIN WORKS. THen eventually it stops working and try to kill you.
