Heres my review.... hope you all enjoy!!

all of us met at the concord west pub at 10am, first drinks for everyone. left there at 10:30 and walked over through bicentennial park and to the showground. got there and joined the crowd waiting to get in. i think the majority of the dogs were at the station, because we walked through the entrance thing and then from the ticket check to the bag check there were about 4 dogs working the crowd. then after going though the bag check, i waited for the rest of them near the ear stage. My mate came over and told us that he ended up chatting to a guy who had a bag of rice in his backpack, and in that bag of rice were 20 pingas. go figure.



anyways, we were late for frenzal so headed down there. i always love watching frenzal, although the sound wasnt so good i thought. ended their set with russel crowes band's a fucking pile of shit, and it set the mood for the rest of the day.


caught the d4, and i actually quite liked them. never really heard their stuff before but they rocked out pretty nicely.

after that, went for a walk around the place. got a chicken burger that looked like it came straight from the primary school canteen, you know the ones with mayo lettuce and a crumbed chicked pattie? it was average.

then, it was time for the donnas. Now i didnt mind their music all that much but the singer was pissing me off. At the end of every song she'd say "how ya'll doing out there, you having a good time?!!?" or "how ya'll doin sydney, you having a good time!!!" Then, she's mix it up by saying "happy australia day, you having a good time?!!" i mean come on, use your imagination for christs sake. yes we were having a good time but hearing you repeat it 20 times got a bit boring.

Then, over to wolfmother. They werent too bad although i thought the sound was a bit lacking. Only caught one song before i had to go and meet up with everyone in the boiler room for scribe.

Now, scribe was pretty good. i'm a big fan so i guess he can do no wrong in my eyes. The boiler room was packed and everyone was going right off. He knows how to get the crowd going... perhaps a little too much.... halfway though a set, his DJ cut the song and it all went a bit like this..

"hey hey hey yo, i can see people fighting down there, stop that shit, stop that shit right now.... ima walk off the fucking stage and stop the show if ya'll dont stop that shit.... the BDO is all about peace, and love, peace and love.... ya'll dont like fighting do you?!" (crowd- noooo) "aiight, if ya'll arent down with fools like this, fighting and shit, i wanna hear you say boo on the count of 3... 1, 2, 3".. (crowd- BOOOO)...


I didnt see the people having the biff but they must have stopped cos the show went on. Apparently, there were 3 chicks on shoulders up the front, they took their tops off and started some 3 way pashing. Eh, whatever.


JBT- Werent too bad although they didnt sound all that good. I dont mind their music so it was alright to me.

Freestylers- i expected much more from them, from previous reviews, i thought they were a bit boring. Push up sorta went off, but that was it. At least they had a live band playing and not mixing records.

Slipknot- i never really listened to them before but i liked their music. They were good to watch, the crowd seemed to get right into it.... the entire mosh crouched down and all jumped up at once, it looked pretty cool...

System of a down. Was up in the grandstand for them. Now this was an interesting band to watch/listen to. Enjoyed every song. Aerials was prob my fave. Cigaro went right off.

Now, during system from our view up the top, about 4 skank circles formed around the ground. I havent seen so much biff in my life. These men just ran at each other and it was like the WWF smackdown. The crowd ended up watching these fights, not the band, it was heavy duty. None the less was a top show. Serj looks so different, much older..

Also, thanks to the dude who shouted me a cone, i gave him a bobby pin to clean out his conepiece and was thanked accordingly. Sharing is caring, people

Powderfinger- boring as batshit. Ended up catching up with friends and having a bite to eat. Wanted to see the streets but by the time i remembered they were on it was too late


Beastie Boys- Absolutely fantastic. These boys rocked out hard, the stadium was packed, by now i was pretty smashed/drunk and i cant remember what songs they played


Chemical brothers- not a huge fan. went and danced the rest of the night in the boiler room, blockrockin beats and hey boy hey girl went off.

All in all, a top day. Ended badly though when we couldnt get a taxi/train home and waited 2 hours on parramatta rd for a taxi.

Highlights(or perhaps lowlights) of the day

- The weather. How good was it. Didnt even get burned, thank u sunscreen!!

- The biff. i forgot to mention that as soon as we got there, we saw some poor dude get hit by a group of guys because they wanted the stuff hanging around his neck. fucken assholes going around causing shit, what a bunch of fags. i hope your reading this and get assraped by a horse, theres no room for that shit at BDO. skank circles are another matter, im all for that, but not picking on someone 5-1 just because their different. fuck that.

- the irwins. what a crackup.

- scribe stopping the show when a fight broke out. good stuff scribe

- I saw 2 girls there in supre tops and HIGH HEELS. I mean, come on. strappy high heels???? are you nuts???? i hope you learnt your lessons.

the lines at all the bars were outrageousley long and it too so long to get anywhere.

I fell over during the first Slipknot song and man, there was no love in that pit. Some fuck head stepped on my stomach and just waved his arms about, spraying VB everywhare, not to mention seriously hurting me aswell.

Got searched half way through the day for drugs. Lucky I didnt have any that day. All the while being the object of humour for 5 of the biggest meat heads Ive ever seen.
They're like "Huh huh, yeah search this dude, I seen him, hes got stuff on him huh huh!"
ARGGGGHH!!
Get drunk by all means but for fuck sakes, stop being such tools.

Survived the whole day on just 20 dollars.
