[SYD] - Transmission 9th B'day! 03/09/05 REVIEWS!

fuckin so pumped for tonite!! :D

btw just out of curiosity, i only normally go to sublime, but i've been to the 2003 transmission dj battle.

when would u guys rekon is the safest time to get to trans... im jus really really worried bout those doggies...
as early as possible would u say? i was thinking gettin there with mates at like 9.20-9.30. We do have vip.. so we do skip the long wait outside, but as for safety reasons, anyone got any hints??

i dun wanna strap my pingers to my belly button again either lol

A mate wrote it, and sent it to all his friends and so on.

Six-Degrees of seperation later and a lot of people would've seen it.

Though anyone who just believed it and didnt go deserves whatever they get for not checking their facts beyond an email from a mate. ;)
 
I went to the meetup spot at 2am and looked for a really *obvious* group, and didn't find one so i went back inside :p

I think maybe i saw sassy85 (that's if she was wearing the blue glowing rabbit ear thingies) look around briefly and then leave too.

Ah well, not a bad night, apart from me arriving at 10.30 but not getting inside until 12.45 and missing half of 4 strings :(
 
argh i told you id forget the meet up, i put a reminder on my phone and when i realised it was beeping it was 2 hours to late.
i had a great night, favourite djs were 4 strings, steven hill and nervous, they went off
 
I happened to be outside and I looked at my watch and it was 2.00, I looked around, approached a few groups and just "Bluelight?"...
Thier puzzled looks said it all! Couldn't be assed asking every one!
 
Hi guys! Here's my story of trying to do the BlueLight meetup...

Went in to the VIP "meet the DJ's" thing just after 4-Strings set around 1:45am. Got one of my records signed by Yojo... (one random girl got her plastic army helmet signed by Yojo, then he wore it for the photo! very cool!) Got t-shirt signed by 4-Strings. Then went straight outside, the door near Rushn stall. It was a couple of minutes after 2am. Put blue glowsticks in my shoes. Looked around. Then wandered along outside towards the other door. Hung around for a minute. Hmmm. Nobody was really looking around. Walked over near the door. Thought I'd hang there for a little bit then see if anyone saw my glowing shoes if not then wonder back around near Rushn. Then a guy came over and was like "Are you ****" (my name!). I was like huh?? "Yeah that's me." I didn't really recognise him though and was thinking how do you know my name?. He said "You came over to my house for a scatt day ages ago". I was like "NO WAY!! You mean 2 years ago!?!" I came over with **** and all those guys!?!" "Yep that was my place!" So he calls up ****. OMG!! It was a spin out to see him again! Me and **** met 2yrs ago at Subbies. We were "gone" ;). New renovations had just been done and Lasers put in! We where chattin and found out we had same birthday! (Spin out!) Then he introduced me too all his friends and we hung out after. Some damn good people. Unfortunately we lost contact because about 2 weeks after we met I went overseas for almost a year. I still had a photo on my camera of me with them in a group photo outside Subbies! They were like "Noooo way!!!" So needless to say I had some damn fine people to party with all night!
 
Other Hightlights of the Night:

Music:
The DJ set mainstage just before 4-Strings was pretty good.
Also the very last set was pretty fine too. Yoshi vs Chia. (Tricky, Tricky ect);)
4-Strings. Some nice trax! OMG!! I took a video of "Take Me Away" and I was just starting to peak! My friend saw it after back at scatt day. The lasers goin. Crowd going wild. A sihouette of a guy dancin and reachin for the lasers! My friend said "Take a look at that! That's just wrong!" He he. (Just tooo damn good!!) =D

Dress:
Thought the chic with the plastic army helmet was rockin... what a classic. How bout some of the crazy guys wearing full camo and had their face covered in camo paint! Man they are nuts. Had pitty on them coz I know that camo paint stuff is nasty! Get hot and it runs into your eyes and stings, also makes your face itch....but looks very cool! The crazy chics with those noisy plastic rifles were heaps of fun! Also those machine gun bullet sashes always look cool.

Randomness:
Up at the front during that "Opera singing" part in Yoji's set. ohhh boy!. I hold my ears and so does another random girl. She is trying to alert her friends to the imminent hearing danger also ;) . Like a minute later I look around and she looks at me. We both laugh. We are the only two holding our ears. I'm sure we must have both been thinkin something along the lines of, "We must be the only two sane ones here!" heh heh.

In the crowd and legs start hurtin so I duck down for a bit. Some random guy is ducking down too, it's kinda quiet down there so we start start chatting and laughing about it. Then we wait for the huge music build up and soon as the bass kicks in we pop up :D fun..

After the rave is over eventually get to the car after after loosing and finding the carpool buddies half a dozen times and going up and down elevators and stairs. Car doors open and stereo starts. Uh oh! Of course then it's dance, dance in the carpark. ;) Oh well good thing no one needs to be anywhere anytime soon.
 
Had a fantastic night. Forgot about the meetup until about 2:30. Spent most of the night up in L section watching the laser show and chatting to people. It would make the third Trans I didnt touch the dance floor because of all the talking.


I loved the SMS thing up on the screens. Lucky I've got call-cap, cause I sent about 10 sms's @ $2 each. Though only 7 got up (none of which bigged it up for the <insert western sydney suburb> massiv).

Got mistaken for 4-Strings 3 times (Once while he was playing), and PeeWee Ferris twice. Took it as a complement. I wanted someone to ask for an autograph so I could sign it as "Not 4-Strings".

I should email 4-Strings and apply to be his stuntman or something.

We ended up leaving at about 5:30 cause the driver was getting tired, so I didnt get to see everyone.

Pretty good night all in all.
 
Tops. thats all i can say. Definately an awesome night.
Recently, I've been concentrating on all my uni work and hadn't been out in 3 weeks, and the last time I went raving was well over a year ago. Well worth the money, and far better than i was expecting.
And the camo, people, the camo! some of the ppl there were dressed in fantastic outfits.
loved it.

Well Donny I was wearing the blue ear thingys!! Should have said hi!! My other friends were wearing green, yellow and orange ones so we didnt loose each other. I found 2 glow sticks too!! That made me pretty happy!! :)

I dont think i went to the meet up point, i couldnt remember where it was!! hehe. Met up with Tony85 briefly though!!

I was walking round randomly for most of the night, loved the music!! Take me away was awesome!!!! =D And as always XTC was a favourite of mine!

Was dancing up the front at the beginning of the night but i wanted to shuffle and that carpet stuff that was on the ground was just no good!! So i went upstairs and shuffled near the doors to the chill out area. =D

I got pushed down the stairs by some random guy!! :( Was not impressed about that!! Lucky i couldnt really feel the pain at that time! hehe

By about 3 o'clock i was ready to go though... I was just so tired from work! But i stayed till about 6am!! Went back to a friends for scatt day, had some breakfast bikkies and OJ, rang my dad for fathers day and then was asleep by about 10am!! Slept basically till 7.30pm then i went home... Had yesterday off work and i'm feeling fantastic today!! =D

Ahh... what a tops weekend!!! ;)
 
^^Yep, one sweet weekend! Thursday morning and I still feel greeeeeaaat! Wow! Was well worth the 4month bikkie break! I think I deserve a pat on tha back... he he :D

Hope to meet some of you guys at another party.... maybe Prophesy? (if I have the cash) or a Sublime night? I'm lookin foward to Melbourne, Godskitchen!!!

Man by the end of the night those stairs sure tired me out.... Too many friends doin random walkabouts, next time need elevators :D. Enjoyed it all though!
...Seemed like nearly everytime I'd hit the steps balance would go funny and I'd be like oh yep... still rollin' =D

Had fun up the front dancin but pity about the carpet. Found one ace spot. Up on the top level. Plastic floor, all wet near the food/drink stalls. So slippery! Shuffling was soooo good up there! :D I have to remember to chuck heaps of water on the floor of the middle level at Subbies next time I go! Nice!

ps. they're still puttin up pix on the Transmission web site they recon they took about 600 over the night. I know me and a friend where in a photo with 4-Strings.... waitin to see that!

Argh...I missed the meetup :S

Had an awesome night. Saw so many ppl I knew :) Music was kinda meh, but it was gr8 to be back at the SSC.

Those stairs are always a scream :P

Anyway...I'll probably be at Prophecy (Isaac!!)...so might finally meet some of you there :)
 
haha the stairs... oh my gosh i think i lost about 10 kilos goin up and down those things haha.... had a mad nite though!
