the Russians have benzos figured out phenazepam is the methadone of the benzo world, very long half life, easy to taper off over a few months.
Uhhh. No. Just no.
Everybody says diazepam but i doesnt work o nmy anxiety. Just to give you an idea the only time it worked is when i stupidly ate something like 300 mg after half a bottle of vodka and the next day I still needed my usual dose of xanx. It just sucks for anxiety imo.This... Phenazepam is by no means a panacea... It shouldn't even be mentioned at all in this thread.
Diazepam is what the OP should switch to, temazepam is one of it's primary metabolites anyways and Diazepam is the real methadone of benzodiazepines IMO. The half life does not = the time for which the drug is effective, just like how with methadone, people don't get pain relief (and addicts don't experience relief from WD symptoms) for anywhere near it's half-life. Phenazepam is a disaster waiting to happen, it's by no means easy to taper off of, and it's very difficult to dose it accurately without devastating side effects.
I've been taking benzodiazepines for more than half my life, have been extremely dependent on alprazolam, 5-6mg a day is nothing compared to what I used to take, and these days, I do my best to only take diazepam, despite being prescribed multiple benzodiazepines, I'm currently trying to get off of benzos so using alprazolam to treat my panic disorder or using temazepam to treat my insomnia just raise my tolerance and do not treat the underlying conditions at all. So switching to an equipotent dose of diazepam has been helping me to begin my slow taper off of benzodiazepines...
Diazepam is the best benzodiazepine to taper with, phenazepam shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread.
[QUOTlplE=LSDMDMA&12004186]Temazepam isnr even used for anxiety. It would work imo but youd need a lot and youd be too fucked up to function.
Another vote for diazepam. Long-acting and comes in a great variety of preparations so it's easy to accurately cross-taper and then taper slowly when you get down to smaller amounts.
Is etizolam an option?
Like you I find the classic benzos pretty shit for anxiety (admittedly I havent tried them all), diazepam barely touchs my anxiety even in high doses, it just too subtle.
Temazepam wipes out my anxiety but causes rebound anxiety and panic.
I think my anxiety responds best to gabaergics will a high a1 affinity.
Zopiclone works better on my anxiety then then actual benzos with little rebound anxiety, its just addictive as hell.lol I would be interested.in trying zolpidem in the future the test my high a1 affinity theory, but I digress.lol
I find etizolam to be perfect for my anxiety, I know it short acting but its metabolite is effective at the same potentcy as etizolam.
This seems to ease any rebound anxiety I experience without the amnesia etc seen with z-drugs or nitro-type benzos.
The po roblems of tolerance, dependance etc also seem to be less with etizolam and ive exoerienced no problems with my use, so long as I take regular breaks from use.
You cant be seriously considering flinitrazeoam as an anxiolytic for daytime use? Mate, that will get messy, very quickly! The amnesnia etc will be very pronunced and the drug will accumulate with everyday use. Leading to you either falling asleep at an inappropiate time or blacking out completely. Flunitrazepam is a lovely benzo but save it for bedtime.lol
Bromazepam was found to be significantly more effective than diazepam with respect to the somatic anxiety factor and the total score for the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale and the fear/anxiety factor of the Patient's Self-Rating Symptom Scale
temazepam is really not going to help you here, it's hardly any longer acting than alprazolam, they are both fast acting benzodiazepines.
I've been taking alprazolam, temazepam, and other benzos for more than half my life, each has a good purpose but they are all bandaids for gunshot wounds, and treating the underlying conditions do 100x what any benzodiazepine could.
