Sorry to bump an old thread, I kinda feel posts about stuff like this never grow too old though since through the years new people inquire about this stuff. And while the OP may have found an answer to his problem I just wanted to put in my 2 cents.
I'm on MMT for a second time, (i store never again after I got cut off cold turkey from 80 to 0...alas the alternative wasn't.)
When I first started I would have to change out my pillows at least 3 times a night. My sweats where so bad I didnt even have to be active to get them, when I was active though it was really bad. Like a previous poster I would carry with me a little towel everywhere I went. Like I was about to go golfing lol. I would even take a spare t shirt to change into in the mid day.
I had to quit my job bartending.
What I eventually found though was that theres a sweet spot in the dose amount that helps. Too low and youre sweating bad, too high and again, youre a hose. When I was at 45 was when I couldnt sleep without sweating, but when I decided to go up to 65 I stopped having the sleep sweats. I still was sweating more than normal during waking hours but not too bad. Then I decided to go up and got to 80. I didnt have problems while sleeping but the day sweats got super bad. Especially after slight exertion. And really bad while walking.
When I tried to taper I got back to 60 and after about 2 weeks at that dose things got better, but when I made it to 40 things were awful.I'm sure a good deal of it could be attributed to MD w/d but still...
Ater starting up on maintenance again I found the same thing to be true. A few weeks at 40-45 it was bad, thought it could be w/d but after a few weeks steady and even with it happening after using I went back to my former school of thought. There has to be a sweet spot for everyone since I meet plenty of people with little sweat issues at the clinic. Most who have it bad are just starting out, or are on high doses. I'm at 65 now and it's purtty bad. So I'm thinking about going to 70 or so, while staying as low as possible. Kicking was rough >_<
I've also picked up some cinnamon caps and will be trying that. Theres "nutridone" and similar supplements that claim to help but to me they are overpriced vitamin supplements with cinnamon.
I did try the nutridone for a few weeks since a friend got a large supply and kicked down with a decent amount. They seemed to work well. I think it's the cinnamon but of All the extra healthy from the supplements prolly didnt hurt. I mean I imagine most people with the kind of habis that necessitate methadone mmt dont have very good eating habits either. (not all of course, don't burn me at the stake!)
I do have to say I think cold weather is the worst personally. I live in colorado and it could be 15 degrees outside and if I walk half a mile I'm seeing like crazy. Bundled up, cold as all get out And dripping sweat is the worst.
Oh and just to note when I was at 60 I was fine, so perhaps going up isnt the answer. Can only try.
Apologies if this is all just a repeat of earlier posts (i know cinnamon has been mentioned) I kinda scanned page 2 since my battery is about to die.
