[Support PD] If you know NBOMe drugs, where did you first learn about them?

I answered "stumbling across a source selling them". Just so we are clear I then did my research and came to the conclusion that I'd rather not touch them with a barge poll. Just my opinion though.

I honestly feel like the way people are so careless with nbomes and how often they end up on the news and worry authorities, they will end up getting banned as well as having unrelated hallucinogens probably added to legislature. And this is all because of careless use, with a little bit of vendor greed thrown in. I feel vendors, especially those in the USA, are too ready to publically sell this stuff (any vendor forum...and that's not a "source", that's a generalization)

It's totally fine for experienced psychonauts who enjoy phens to carefully dose this stuff for themselves, but dumb kids are snorting shitloads of this stuff, some of them clueless to the potency. Can you imagine what actual drug education as well as harm reduction could do? It wouldn't make anything less available, but people would KNOW what they're doing more than they do now. At my university, if you even mention ketamine, people say "isn't that like a barbiturate? Yeah I did it once and k-holed"....people are so clueless when it comes to drugs. Always have been. I remember when I first joined blue light the MOST common daily question was (in OD) "can I snort Xanax". Everyday. Same reply every time by like 15 people: "UTSFE"

Never looked into them really until a source began to offer it, so I did some googling, ordered it up, regret it completely now

It was back in 2010-2011 in the very beginning. I remember talking about them to a friend, viewing them as a curiosity of sorts and laughing at their name, NBOMe sounded to us like some sort of a tribal African drug name. I either have read something about them on any of the drug-oriented sites I visit (which is any one u can google but I have my favorites) or I've seen them offered by a vendor then looked up the info on effects, which was very vague by then. I was quite interested though. But they were something completely new and unconquered and given their rather high prices at that point (import was only option I had), I eventually decided I wouldn't order any. Now they became very popular and easy to get, especially C and I, so of course I adjusted my attitude. :D

I first became aware through a news report. Unfortunately, it was the story from Richmond VA. I only caught a snippet, but enough to catch the name. Further investigation on a site i found in high school researching PCP for health class led me here and I've lurked and researched and read constantly about the NBOMe compounds and decided to procure the iodinated version. Since then, I've gotten the chlorine and bromine, but have yet to taste the latter (which i am glad, because it seems my grain OH-only solution has a small evaporative leak, which will be remedied before ANY sampling of it occurs, but I'm in no rush).

I frequent Erowid and I stumbled across nbome. It sounded like a good time so I asked my buddy to keep a look out. He found it and now it's my favorite thing to do, other than some good ole coke. I've been doing nbome for about a year and a half now.

I first heard about them from reading Ralf Heim's thesis. I became quite interested in them, and I ended up ordering 5 grams of 2C-C-NBOMe for a very reasonable price. The Chinese chemical company I ordered from must either have no idea how to use a balance, or the person who was responsible for shipping the products must have been sampling them too, because I received far more than 5 grams. Put it this way, the amount they sent was so large that when I place it on my balance, the display just reads --OVER--. The quantity of powder was so large that I initially believed I had been the victim of a scam and had received titanium dioxide (as the customs declaration claimed), but reagent tests, NMR, and bioassays proved that not to be the case. Even with the test results, I could not believe that I had been subject to such good fortune until I actually tasted it.

I know that opinions vary widely when it comes to the NBOMe-series compounds, but as far as I'm concerned I believe that 25C-NBOMe is one of my favourite psychedelics easily. I find it to be perfect for a nice, light-hearted, fun experience. Although many people say that it lacks in emotional depth, I have to disagree. I find it to guarantee me a burst of positive emotions that stick around even after the experience has ended. The emotional experience I get from it I find to be very similar to MDMA actually, but just a bit more subtle... I consider myself to be very lucky to have come across this compound. I was expecting an extremely interesting addition to my psychedelic collection, and yet I got so much more than that.

With all that being said, I think that this compound needs to be treated with care. Someone who does not have the experience and equipment to handle this stuff correctly could very easily hurt themselves if they acquired it in it's pure form as opposed to as blotter or solution. Hell, even in pre-measured doses it would be easy to get in trouble with it. People who can't understand that this is a very new, almost unknown compound and that it is definitely NOT the new LSD and should not under any circumstances be treated as such should not come near it. It is too likely to end in disaster.

I actually kind of like the tolerance. Its a good way to keep from tripping too often. Just thinking "Well, I had some 25C a few days ago, so I should probably save this 4-HO-MiPT for later when I can make the most of it..." has been a very useful way to restrict my intake.
