well, the tragic news has come in....
superman, aka christopher reeve as passed away....
dead at the age of 52....
whilst the passing of mr reeve himself is a great tragedy, he was a great actor in his time, and a fantastic spokesperson for spinal cord research...
but the most important point of this thread is that a hero has fallen...
for many of us growing up, superman was in our life in someway...
be it the superman undies, the superman lunchbox, or simply putting a sheet down the back of your shirt and pretending you could fly...
superman was the ideal superhero... he was strong, nearly invincible and he could fly.... but not only that, he did it all from a mundane, boring everyday life...
showing us that it is possible for the ordinary man to infact, be extraordinary.... COTB - permission to use your quote here
so, we do bid goodbye to christopher reeve, a great man dealt some of life's crulest blows...
but most of all, a goodbye to childhood memories of super human powers, of being able to rescue people, to the power to right a wrong, but most of all, goodbye to a fantasy world where everything was right and we were innocent...............
