SuperBowl: New York Football Giants VS New England Patriots

The pats have a pretty good defense though, better than the Rams did that season.

Could things work out the same way for the 2008 Giants or are the Pats of 2008 THAT dominant?
the giants could definitely win - it's the superbowl and the patriots are by no means a shoo-in.

i think the reason the patriots are in the superbowl is that they've show consistently that they are a quality football team but, more importantly, when somebody challenges them, they adapt to accommodate that challenge and still find a way to win.

I think for the Giants to win, they need to create a few turnovers, or make a big play on special teams. Something like that will need to happen; if New England plays mistake-free (or even very few mistakes), as we have seen, they don't lose.

Rooting for the G-Men. But It's hard to pick against the Pats. =\

woooo

The Pats are gonna crush the Giants. The only teams in the NFC that had a real shot at winning were Dallas and Green Bay...

too bad they both got beat.

The Pats will win by a landslide, but I would really rather they loose horribly.

I have zero confidence in someone predicting a players' performance when they can't even spell his name correctly.

Thanks for providing us with your insight into football in this extremely useful reply. No one knew who I was talking about - you have saved the thread.

The patriots are so boring to watch. Honestly. WOOOOOOW, so a team can constantly recreate themselves with various running and passing plays, has a great quarter back, a solid defense, a well-rounded offense, and great chemistry.

SO WHAT?!

How boring.

Pats beat giants by 21.

The Pats beat the Cowboys by 21 points

The Pats only beat the Giants by 3 after trailing for most of the game.

Add to that the fact Giants are playing amazingly and also beat the 'boys in the playoffs.

So where do you get the idea that Dallas would be a tougher opponent for the Pats than New York?

I don't understand how Dallas and Green Bay are superior teams to the New York Football Giants when they beat BOTH of those teams ON THE ROAD during the playoffs? please explain your point further.

...by, er, the new york giants :)

i'm also interested in an explanation of this logic...

also, why do people commonly refer to the giants as the new york football giants given the baseball giants left new york 50 years ago? is it just a nostalgic throwback?

Fred Flintstone started that?

I would have thought it was the New York Football Geeeeeeeeeeee men.

Hell yeah, go GMEN! Their defensive line is probably the best suited to go up against the Pats. Hoping for at least a couple sacks. This is going to be a close game but if Eli doesn't turn the ball over ( hasn't in the postseason yet) and we get a pick or two off Brady then we've got a hell of a good chance to take the Lombardi trophy home.

^^I think that Chris Berman from ESPN started that whole New York Football Giants thing

No, it was a legitimate way to differentiate between the two teams 60 some odd years ago that has carried over into today. It's also the team's actual company name.

if they'd just say jersey like they should "football" wouldnt have ever been neccessary ;)
