See you at the next one
Dancing is the perpendicular reenactment of the horizontal desire

It's nice to know that at least most of us AUS BLters have some sense and know that it's stupid to drive while being under the influence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reading that thread in the Other Drugs forum disgusted me and any respect whatsoever that I may have had for Phreex has totally vanished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that when there used to be parties at the docks you could catch a bus from Spencer St Station or if there was an Earthcore or a Rainbow Serpent on you could catch a bus to and from those events!!!!! Those are good ideas!!

I don't know you DQ but I'm really sad about you and your family's loss.
As for the other thread - these people aren't living in reality, they're living in some surreal world where nothing bad happens to anyone or maybe they just don't care. Either way, they're negative people.
Best of wishes to you and your folks, I know you'd love for your dad to be around but I'm sure he's in a good place right now.
Peace.

I hope it helps to know that you have got all of us here...anytime.

and i wasn't happy with phreex (i assume it was him) closing that thread in "other drugs" pleo provided a link to above. i didn't get a chance to refute his fucked-up logic.
something like "people will drive on drugs, you might as well teach them to do it properly". i think that sure, people might drive on drugs, but maybe if they hear things like this they might not. and just because it's common doesn't mean it's ok.
this may sound like a repeat of the drug debate ("people will always use.... harm minimisation"). i'm all for people having choices about using drugs. i think we should have the right to make our own decisions about the substances we use, and a right to knowledge about what we're doing. but driving on drugs goes beyond this, into the realm of encroaching on others' rights to safety and trust of other drivers. an accident when you're driving on drugs isn't really an accident, it's a big fuck-off mistake. and it carries a big fuck-off cloud of guilt with it.
driving is not a right, it's a priviledge that, for the sake of others, shouldn't be abused.
thanks for all your support.

PS remember the sleep deprivation thing is just as important. powernap... it might save you from a crash.

Well, I think phreex is a fucking asshole. (sorry mods, but his final comment is SO disrepectful) It is a huge diff between Aussie and American. No wonder they shoot each other every five minutes. Affter reading that, I want to shoot them too!

For anyone who wants to share your thoughts as I did, send it directly to him. Show some respect Phreex..asshole
Chin up DQ.... We understand and thankyou for sharing. *PEACE*

Driving is not a right, it's a privilege.
One has the choice to drive on drugs, and if the consquence be that they crash, how dare they take others down with them.
.... "What's DQ?"

six months today since the accident.
the first week was the slowest of my life.
the rest of the 6 months have been the fastest of my life. what a flash.
still no updates on the trial of the driver, no blood test results or even any word on when precedings get underway.
i'm still angry.

just a quick one for all the people goin out straight and driving (cos if your not straight then why the fuck are you driving??)...
last night i went to freq nasty and left at 6am. i knew i was fine to drive, was alert and awake (as msn/icq people know 6am aint to unusual for me) and as i was driving down hoddle st i was about 20m away from a red light when it turned green, so i didn't really slow down, just went into the intersection at about 50. as i was nearly at the intersection i saw a car coming down the road on my left, the light had just turned red for him, but he figured it was 6am, and he would just gun it anyway...luckily he saw me in time and thought better of it and quickly put on the brakes and stopped at the red light. in that case, both of us were alert enough to avoid what could have been an accident. however if one of us had been a bit scat, had a few beers, or even just been a bit tired, it could have been very different.
i had a very good mate in the car with me.
please think people. then enjoy your weekend.
