Super Important - Drugs and Driving

I do drive scattered, as I've already said in this thread, I honestly believe I never put my life or the lives of others at risk.
Anyways, my point to this response is this:
Something to keep in mind if you ARE going to drive on drugs/with drugs still in your system:
Scenario: Someone pulls out in front of you, there's no way you can avoid them, it's their fault, even if you were straight you would have hit them. Who do you think gets busted, the person who drove dangerously or the one with a body full of drugs?
Just food for thought.

anfa: if it's unavoidable then it's unavoidable. it's just that you're less likely to be able to avoid a sticky situation if you're scattered/drug-fucked/over tired. so if some nonce pulls in front of you and you hit them, it's still their fault, but if you could've avoided them but didn't because you were a scat m0f0... you've just fucked up.
and i maintain that if you consistently, deliberately and knowingly drive scattered (ie not taking precautions and planning to avoid driving), then you are a selfish fuckwit and i hope that when you crash and die, you kill only yourself. sincerely.

This is the reason why i tend not to stray too far from home when i have to go home and i am driving...........
keep safe........ i want to meet all you people next year ok!

You know... of the people who claim to drive fine scattered, I wonder what it would like watching them from the car behind...

'De Quincey'
As much as people stress about drugs and driving or drink driving or driving scattered people are still going to do it, I admit i have driven while on drugs before which was a stupid mistake and selfish, but so did my brother and he happen to die and kill my best friend but you are trying to say to me that my brother deserved to die? he desverved to die because he drove while he was on drugs? Seen you have such a strong option about this subject I understand your point of view but you also should understand other people's.Their should be no excuse for drugs and driving etc but you have to understand people do it and if they do they might find out the hard way which no one deserves to find out.

people are still going to do it well yes, evidently they DO still do it. people also continue to commit murder, robbery and rape, but that doesn't mean these sorts of behaviours are acceptable. i'm not trying to say that driving scat is equally naughty as rape, simply making the point that just because people continue to behave in a certain way DOES NOT MAKE IT ALRIGHT. and personally i'm not quite ready to say, "well, fuck it, i can't do anything about the fact that people drive on drugs... so why bother?". i'd rather be the prick who has to shout again and again, because some people haven't got the brains to figure it out for themselves. if it changes some attitudes along the way then that's all i ask.
and i'm really sorry about your brother and your friend. i'm sure they didn't "deserve" to die. but the fact remains that your brother made a CHOICE to drive in an unfit state. in hindsight it was the WRONG choice, and your brother has paid for the consequences in the most extreme way. but surely a person must be held responsible for the consequences of their own free choices. So in that sense, your brother - sadly - fucked up, he himself made a stupid choice and it's his own fault that people died.
it sounds harsh, but if you can't accept responsibility for your actions, what the fuck kind of human are you?
i've said it a hundred times, just don't drive under the influence of drugs or tiredness.
DQ.

I have nothing say to that.
it was a harsh thing to say.
All i asked was for you to understand other people's point of view which i can understand would be difficult but i never asked you to respect them.
Think before say things Dq if you think it's a harsh thing to say don't say it!

Drive safely guys.
As difficult as it is to imagine ever being in a car accident where someone is seriously injured or dies, it happens - none of us are invincible. Human beings are fragile at the best of times.
The awful thing is, a lot of people are going to lose their lives on the roads these holidays, this might sound a bit full on, but its a fact. Don't be the cause of any of these acccidents and don't let it be you.
~peace~

sometimes the truth hurts, raverbunny.
be safe over new year's, people. two years ago a girl was killed crossing the road in melbourne on her way to summadayze. she had consumed ecstasy, and so had the driver of the car that hit her. the driver is now in jail. just be really really careful because a lot of people are not always as responsible as they should be.
PLEASE be safe.

nye bump.
think about how your getting home tommorrow peoples...
if your still thinking of being selfish then think about how much the whole of nye is costing you...and how much a taxi would cost instead of driving...

This is THE topic, especially on NYE.
DQ and all fellow BLers all the best & have a very happy & SAFE New Year.
If you're driving 2nite pls be careful and think hard before you go.
Cheers
P.S. the lawns outside Summadayze will be a good place to collect yourselves.

Or even better, catch public transport. I mean, hell, it's really easy to get to Welcome from Spencer St. Station, and it's not horribly hard to get to the Music Bowl afterwards...
Really, that's going to be 26 hours of partying for people, and no-one should be driving after that...
So, please, be careful, and think about those who could be affected by your decisions.
Dante :)

Agreed... take public transport to your nye celebrations.. its more fun anyway cause you and all your friends can all go in the one vehicle that way

please please please everyone be careful this new years.
too many people die on the roads so why increase the risk to yourself and the friends in the car with you?
if you take any drugs, or drink, don't drive.
simple as that.
the money you spend on a cab, even if it's $30 or $40 is nothing compared to *you*
too many of us face the holidays mourning our friends and relatives. when it can so easily be avoided.
convienience is not an issue
money isn't an issue
there's no excuse
please please everyone be safe. it would break my heart to hear that anyone more on this board would have to go through the same things that de quincy, raverbunny and I have had to go through.

Our public transport timetables have added extra times due to tonights events, seeing as though most of us are going to events in the city, then there really isn't any excuse for anyone to drive!
If u live far away like I do, then drive to a friends place, catch PT in, have fun and then go back to your friends place and sleep for decent amount of time!!!!
I don't want to hear of any bad stories tonight, and I'm sure no one else here does, stay safe!!!!!

Big thumbs up to my friends for taking PT before and after welcome, despite the rain, and the wind, and the shrinkage.
Thumbs down to all the people climbing into cars after welcome.(I still can't beleive how many people drive everywhere). There was a disgusting display of egos, bad driving and tired looking people getting into cars - in the carpark alone.
Keep spreading the good word around. The message will make it there eventually.

Just one off topic point.. Kudo's to the people who do not consume drugs and drive their drug taking buddies to and from events... :)
