Success with light bulb vaporizer (but a question!)

you don't need a cap, just plug the hole with your thumb and when it's ready, stick a straw in and suck...
 
Electric tape should be good enough to not melt. It's made to take some heat. Of course I'm not taking any responsibility for anything that happens but thats what I use and it makes sense to me. Oh ya and Danashae your bf is def right bulbs are coated in plastic but only on the outside to my knowledge and not all bulbs, in fact I doubt the one you have was coated good pick.
 
Maybe the effect of hot air expanding lets you take a hit without an intake?

If you don't want to melt the plastic, get a bulb that's longer. The farther away the flame is from the tape & cap, the better. They make some long, clear bulbs, so get one of those.

The urge to give the light bulb vape another go has gotten the better of me... :) I'm sitting here with a cleaned out 120W bulb... getting ready to find a plastic bottle to cut up now.

You may want to try using the metal tube from a pen instead of a plastic straw - these are probably better under heat.

My friend had a vape made from a huge round light bulb. It was like the size of two fists together, and he always had it in his car. This vaporizer worked very well because the herb was so far away from the cap!

They all do break, eventually.

Hahaha =D My friend did that yesterday. I lit it up for her since she doesn't know how to use it, and she was so stoned that she went to grab the BOTTOM and burned the shit out of her palm. I laughed so hard, because I do stupid shit like that too..

Don't feel bad. I'm overachiever with a hyperactive imagination... and I went to Home Depot, stoned, with a credit card. 8) :p
 
lol, i found a burnt out bulb in the bedroom fixture, a dead pen and an empty bottle. i didnt leave the house till i got the weed! it was free!free!free!

I want to make out of a regular bulb... the special shape of mine is annoying me. Also, the glass is thicker, so it takes a while for it to vape.

The thicker glass might pay off in the long run - more durability. The thin ones are fragile especially when being heated/cooled heated/cooled.

Do you use a candle or a lighter as a heat source?

I use a lighter. If you could see the room I stay in, you'd see there was nowhere to put a candle without holding it. And that's annoying, because I have nowhere I can put it down when I want to take a break. Holding a lit candle while you're stoned = disaster.
 
Hmm... the light bulb vape didn't really do it for me. Not very much of a mind fuck or anything, just a slight 'stoned' feeling.

Oh well. It was a fun experiment, anyhow...

I'm not doubting you... But if you have good herb... the vape should work as well as anything else. It would be worth giving it another try.

Make sure you shake it about and toast everything really well.

You'd think it'd be worth another try... but this is the second time I've tried using a light bulb, and it just doesn't work for me. Yes, I made sure I shook the weed about; yes, I made sure I toasted it thoroughly; and yes, I made sure that the device was constructed with totally airtight seals.

Light bulb vaped weed just doesn't get me high, man... what can I say? :\
