I dont know if this best fits into trip reports, but I figure it is way too trip reportish for Other Drugs. Please move though if necessary.

None of the following events actually happend.

Bupe/Subutex circa 2mg snorted (between 1.5 mg and 3mg)

Wow.

This stuff is almost too strong for anyone without a tolerance. I had let my tolerance slip back to zero before hitting this stuff (circumstances) and it blew me away. I knew it was both strong and long lasting, but I noticed a few other things that I will touch on below.

Within minutes after snorting the stuff I began to feel the all too familiar opiate buzz. I began talking more, pacing around the room, normal stimulated opiate feelings. Around the 45 minute mark it seemed to be peaking so I snorted a little more.

At about the 60-90 minute mark it starts really getting good. I now lay down and enjoy the heavy head and eyes that are now unavoidable. This was the first nod I had caught in a long long time and it was very good.

Now I know how heroin addicts can kick on this stuff, it felt VERY VERY similar to heroin. It didn't have a rush like snorted heroin, however the strong buzz and nod were very very similar. I have enjoyed a large number of opiates from hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone, to methadone, etc, and none has rivaled or given me a feeling that resembled heroin. I wish I could better word what exactly that difference is, but as a general statement, it was extremely similar to a heroin buzz.

About 3-4 hours after the initial dosing it starts to pick up again, and along with it comes large amounts of nausea (again, similar to when I have done too much H). Projectile vomiting ensues, although as with heroin vomiting, doesnt really bother me one bit.

While the initial dosing was mid-afternoon, the buzz follows me well, which resulted in more nodding while watching tv at midnight.

Also, subutex lingers. It kept me completely out of it and mildly buzzed for the following two days. I found this actually rather annoying because my opiate use is (I am trying) to be recreational, not a way of life and the continued buzz made reading and focusing on daily activities very difficult.

In summary, subutex feels strikingly similar to h. Although I would almost not recommend it for recreation because it will make those non-opiod tolerant very sick and lasts so long. If I didnt love opiates as much as I do, this experience probably would have led me to never use opiates again. If you have done too much, be prepared to be sick for a long time. On that note, this stuff is extremely strong too. I would compare my 2mg dose to doing a whole bag of h with no tolerance. Subutex would provide a cheap and great high for someone with a moderate opiate tolerance, but it is really too much for anyone looking for fun along the 20mg hydrocodone level.

Eh...I run with a few kids who are still opiate younguns and all get nodded within the 50-70mg range, and I've let them all try my 8mg suboxones and only one even nodded...don't get me wrong; they were high...just not as high as the 50-70mg of oxy would have got them

i guess everyone is different

I wouldnt call anyone who takes 70mg to get high a youngun, but then again maybe I have low standards.

i dont think 2mg suboxone would have laid me out like it did back in my heroin days, but I didnt expect it to effect me for so long, so heavily, and for days afterwards.

then again I catch a really nice buzz of 20 mg hydrocodone

Bupe is pretty damn strong on a mg basis, if you think the pain killing formulation is 0.2mg and 0.4mg respectively. I know lots of people that get high of 2mgs of bupe [nasally] and have been using it recreationally for years. Even saying it has a better high than hydro.

Recently after being clean of all opiates for 3 weeks I went back on Suboxone and 4mg sublingually had me nodding and content all day. Unfortunetly that majic feeling vanished the next day and I was just using it for maintenece.

I do envy ppl that can continuously get high from small doses of bupe, it kinda baffles me, and I wonder why they dont start becoming immune to the effects of the drug.

Nice trip report spirals...!

Me to blah! The first day of my maintence, I got high from bupe, at 8mg. Then I was up to 32mg within 2 days and just maintaining...its very odd.

^^^ yea, bupe is a strange one...however, I find that if I am taking bupe, I will suffer through the humdrums of taking 2 mg or less for a few days and then practically rocket off with an 8mg. Of course, it doesn't always work, since the lasting effect of this drug is unreal (which helps when you have urges to get high and realize you would have to double astronomical amounts -- for most users who go on subuxone are at high doses before -- to get high).

Anyway, I embrace subuxone and look forward to new developments in addiction treatments....they have some crazy shit in the pipeline (go figure, considering the rate of pharm opiate abuse is through the roof). Damn pharm companies--evil--EVIL, I say.

Also, going any higher than 32 mg is pure waste. I have some papers to prove it. Anyway, stay safe ladies and gents!

Subutex killed me the first time i took it. I let it dissolve under my touch and far out i was dazed and confused for over 30 hours.

I was given 2mg and took about (eyeball) about 1/3 of that.

Nice trip report, and a very good summary of the effects. Subutex affects me a little differently than you said though. It feels different than omst opiiods for me though. I'm glad it works so good for you :)

Please compare it to methadone. I heard many people (opiate dependent like myself) that they didn't like it much and that they much rather preffered methadone. I think they were doing it orally. Doesn't it contain nalaxone, to block your high if you crush and snort it, so i hear. Also when I first did methadone, 15mg was okay, and 30mg made me so DAMN high that I fought the high AND puked. Now im on 200mg daily and it doesn't feel like that first 2-3 weeks on it did when I was on MUCH lower doses. Might your lack of tolerence have caused such effects? I'm wondering as I have never done it nor seen it in my life. I've done pretty much every other opiate besides heroin and morphine, including hydrocodone, oxycontin, fentanyl, codeine, demerol, hydromorphone.

^^ Suboxone rather than subutex has the nalaxone (2mg bupe to 0.5mg naloxone or so). it always surprises me that they say sublingual administration, i can't stand leaving things under my tongue. yecch.

awesome report dude

there is no doubt that my tolerance played a big factor in how whacked I was by the subutex. I also cant really attest to its maintenenece abilities because I dont use it for that purpose. I'm not physically addicted and I just snort from time to time to get high. Anecdotally, everyone I know who is on subutex/bupe says it works amazingly and there are no cravings.

Using it myself, what I can imagine is that the drug must be extremely successful in treating heroin users because subutex feels very similar to heroin.

as mean girl answered, suboxone has naloxone (the blocker), while subutex is only bupernorphine. but if you are looking for a drug to get high on, don't bother switching over. if you want to get on a better stabilizing drug and move towards quitting, I would think about trying bupe.

you can get high just as easily on suboxone or subutex...the only difference being you can't IV suboxone because of the naloxone!

two of my opiate-niave friends tried some buprenorphine and BOTH got floored off doses of 2mg or less....and BOTH preffered smaller snorted doses to larger ones they took sublingually...both experienced the "real nods" for the first time...

they loved it, but both said they'd start with smaller doses next time and work their way up as it doesnt really have a rush, and bupe just lasts so fucking long(i can feel effects for nearly 48 hours).

its easy to take too much bupe and get sick(like one of my friends did)...good thing is, its pretty hard to OD on bupe because it doesnt depress the breating as much as most opiates...
