I was inducted two months ago..Took 12-16mg for those two months..Till I realized that I was always tired, and impotent on a level that I had never experienced before..

So I read up and figured I was overdosing..I took two days off and my energy and boner returned..Then I took 2mg, then an off day, and another 2mg..THen I found myself feeling like shit..I went to have sex with my gf and my dick was limp..bad. I was also raging with anxiety..This two days ago..

So yesterday I took 6mg and by midnight was feeling withdrawals..Woke up this morning sweaty, depressed, anxious..Tryed to jerk off as a test, and the porn didnt turn me on, it actually disgusted me..I took 4mg two hours ago, and now I feel great emotionally and physically..

Am I doomed to never get boners? It's like the bupe either kills them because of the dose, or the symptoms of withdrawals make sex seem quite unpleasant, mentally..

When I was inducted, we fucked like bunnies..It was amazing to be sexually competent again...And then it just faded away.

THe embarrasment and shame of not getting it up is also fueling the anxiety for future sexual encounters..She is incredibly supportive, but the point is we both enjoy sex, and I don't want her to suffer that consequence..

Personally all opiates kill the mood for sex for me . When I am on any opiate I never get in the mood and porn actually disgusts me . My wife hates it ,but what can I do . I love my opiates more then sex.

Have you had your testosterone levels checked? There's two types off blood tests, specifically ask for both to be run, generally the less expensive, less revealing test is performed. I endured exactly the same problem from the day I begin banging dope until while on methadone I scored a real hottie, and she was very into sex.

But I was only able to get it going one out of four tries, then that anxiety hit each time and it got worse. Cialis (sp?) only helped a little, mostly I got boners at the wrong time, like at work or driving.

I bet your testosterone is low... About two weeks to a month after I started using Testim (I now use Androgel), I was like a 21 year old, able to go for as long as she wanted/needed then busted nut like mad. I'm 46 and still use Androgel as bupe does the same to me. I still can out perform my 20 something self, able to literally go 45 minutes... Crazy acrobatics, tearing up the bed.

It is treatable, but the only form of testosterone that seems to work for most are the newer transdermal formulations, but ime, they work excellently. Oh, man did we get it on... Too bad she was a severe alcoholic and I had to kick her out... I still miss that crazy sex but it took some serious patience on her part until the raw gel transdermal formulations came out - patches didn't work but the gel you apply directly is the shizzness. I think there's a generic either available or in the pipeline for US patients.

I had allot of the same experience on suboxone but it wasn't until I cut down to 2mg. I literally had no sex drive for a few months, it really put a damper on my relationship. Now I am on vivitrol and my sex drive continues to lack; I think naltrexone has this effect. Along with the effects opioids have on sex drive of course.

I've never experienced any sexual decline from any drugs, especially opiates, in fact, no matter how much opiates I take, it seems like an aphrodisiac for me, I can't explain it.

As for your situation, it happens to quite a bit of men, & they're not using opiates, so font dwell on it too much......also, you have a supportive gf in your situation, & you should realize she's a special girl.

There are other ways to please your gf w/o your penis, get inventive if the situation comes up again.

Don't put yourself down & get depressed & then the intense anxiety rolls in......in fact, extreme depression had me limp once as my gf was giving me a bj & I wasn't getting hard, that's the only time ever, so your adding anxiety with your opiate use, & you're adding twice the problem to your situation.

I too experienced exactly what the OP described in terms of lack of drive on suboxone, and withdrawal making the whole idea distasteful. Long acting opioids seem to have a greater effect on testosterone levels, there's a nhi study on it but I'm on my phone, I'll try to link later. However, I noticed that after about the 2nd or 3rd day off, the drive returns with a vengeance. Also as a side note, when I'm in mild or moderate withdrawals and I don't orgasm daily I'll get wet dreams, which never happens outside of those circumstances.

What's crazy to me was when I was inducted on a high dose, I was always horny..then today, within thirty min of dosing, I was feeling the drive again.. Now its gone..

So it may be less of the opiate effect and more of the withdrawal effect?

I agree... testosterone levels are known to decline massively in opiate abusing men, including bupe. this will cause your lack of sex drive, boner, anxiety, etc. I am currently shooting 250mg testoviron (testosterone enanthate) every week to combat the low T effects of my bupe use.. it works wonders...

Ofcourse opioids mess testosterons, U should get simple blood test and maybe testosterone replacement therapy. Im on my way with methadone and I have just one testicle, just survived testcancer. Methadone is known to lower mens testosterone alot. My testosterone was signficantly low... now waiting for TRT. It is a fact that mens suffer lower T who uses opioids and thats ur case for sure. PM what ur freetestosterone bloodtest says? Ihad 12,4 and that is too low especially for 24 year old guy. if 15 or lower TRT is recomended but at this age it should be more like 20-25. well, opiates not only killed my desire for sex but my ability..it didnt matter what the woman looked like, i wasnt interested..the testosterone lowering effect of opiates can last a long time even after getting off..
