Im now back at work now and all this people that dealt me pills, got middlemanned from me, or whatever were asking me about roxis and bags the first day i came back from unemployment and they knew i was in this program. But this shot isnt helping cravings at all. sub works much better.

I did relapse on dope after 40 days of only subs back in november (this was while i was waiting to be seen by the doc. took till 12/11) but i think i wasnt as serious about staying clean as i am now. Im not drinking on top of subs, although i do smoke marijuana but no one at the place really cares bout that. I dont wanna use dope when i smoke but when i drink its the first thing i start thinking about so i no longer drink.

He put that girl back on subs but it took her 2 weeks to convince him. We were both on 8mg sub a day then the shot and now we both rather have subs. im sure we're not the only ones with this problem. Hes actually having a meeting with everyone that decided to try the shot to see our opinions so after he hears all the negative feed back maybe he will realize we were'nt bullshitting him. Dudes a fucking quack.

I personally don't really like the naltrexone shots, but if it works for you, then cool ya know? But, you're saying that it really isn't. You're still having cravings to use, which is one of the big things that they claim the shot will help you with.. but you're not the first person who I've heard say the same thing. So, if you think you'll have a better chance with subs again, and will feel better with them, then yeah do it, man.

Who or what convinced you to get the shot in the first place?
 
Yeah, i dont like the shot either. All was good in the beginning when i was on both vivotrol, and subs. I had no cravings or physical problems until i came off sub and i just had the shot in me. I feel like total shit from the shot and it doesnt do a damn thing for cravings anymore.

And what convinced me to get the shot was my first counselor (have a different one now cuz she left) wanted me to try it out so after i kept failing while on subs i tried it and it worked so i thought id stay on it but then i came off subs and felt like shit and had/have cravings but didnt if i took subs.

If he doesnt put me back on subs then im not gonna be on anything then. Fuck that shot. They cant say dont knock it till you try it cuz i have tried it and now i want out. It would'nt be fair to be if they let someone else who did'nt do good with the shot get back on subs but not me. Hopefully at this meeting on wednesday, which is after my appt with the doc, hopefully there's a lot of people that dont like the shot. i know there is at least 2 of us. What do you think my chances of him switching me back are? All i did was try what they asked and i didnt like it and so imo it should be my right to go back to what i was doing before, minus the alcohol and occasional dope use.
 
^Its his same fucking doctor that's prescribing him Suboxone that's giving everyone Vivitrol shots at the same time!

You're either on or off opiates, you don't take a partial agonist and an antagonist at the same time....It's like this doctor couldn't just follow protocol, he had use all his patients as guinea pigs, what an asshole!

If a doctor told me he was going to prescribe Suboxone, but that I had to have a 30 day naltrexone shot to get it, I'd laugh at them and walk out the door! There's something fishy about this...
 
Well what happened was subs didnt work at first cuz i was a bullshitter at the time (still am sometimes ha) and my counselor, after numerous relapses on my part, suggested i try the vivotrol shot. said that doc is trying something new where if you're switching from subs to the shot that you just dose before you go in and then get the shot and he prescribes you 18 8mg strips to take in 7 days on a taper schedule starting with 4 strips in one day! its crazy.

There was this girl that got the shot the week before me and she wished me good luck and told me how she immediately went into withdraw and had to go to the hospital. some people were fine and some were not. we were 2 of them. Its funny cuz i was in group (that girl is in it to) on monday night and the instructor said that the doc will be holding a meeting this wednesday to get opinions on this new method he's trying to see if he should continue with it. we are literally the guinea pigs for this shit but in his defense i was not forced off subs, it was my own decision to do it. But the group leader said that doc is weird and that he's definetly not following the usual protocol of being detoxed from everything, including subs for 10-14 days before being on the shot but he doesnt wanna do that anymore.

I have a meeting with my counselor monday and ill talk to him about it cuz he told me if i have any concerns or if i feel like imma use then to speak up. so ill probaly be able to have him on the same page as me and maybe even convince him to come to my appt with me to see the doc. Im nervous. I got counsleing monday at 430 and got the doc wednesday at 345 then got that meeting to give him feedback on the shot, along with everyone else on the shot.

I'm on 6mgs of subutex a day. I think 8 might be better? To be honest the thing making me relapse is my partner still using, bringing gear over everyday and using and offering it to me. I know this has to stop. :(

I got subs on my own back in october/november (40 8mg pills and i took 6 mg a day) and i kept relapsing but i was drinking while being on subs just didnt care that much abnout working my program. So it was'nt working cuz i didnt do the work. so since we knew it was'nt working my counselor and doc suggested i go on vivotrol and see if it works better so i tried that. Its so shitty that id rather be on subs and have occasional cravings instead of being on the shot and having unbearable cravings plus physical pain.

This time around im trying to do better and give it a more sincere try with subs again. The last week ive been taking 2-3 mgs of sub before work and ive felt better and my cravings were minimal at work, which is where im most vulernable. Its a sticky situation.
 
Honestly, that doc sounds like a fucking quack, and you should drop him completely and go find somebody else. Scripting suboxone on top of naltrexone injections? Staring a suboxone taper at 32 mg's? It's just ridiculous. If you want to be on suboxone, find a regular sub doctor, get on a normal, stable dose, and do that. This whole naltrexone shots and suboxone combination therapy business sounds fishy and very odd to me.

Oh right that's you, the girl living with the guy who uses in front of you and offers you dope. Okay, I didn't realize that. Yeah, well that changes everything. Hah. I mean, no matter what dose of subs you are on, you're not going to stay clean with that ass hole waving dope around in your face. For any kind of sobriety method to work.. you have to get away from him. That's the only way. Right now, you're not even allowing yourself to have a real shot at the suboxone working and staying clean ya know? Get rid of him, up your dose to 8mg's, and I guarantee you'll feel 10x better and have a much easier time staying clean. That's my advice for you.
 
It is odd,man. Thing is that i like the groups there, piss tests are unsupervised for me, i like my new counselor. The only thing wrong is the doc.

I would switch but its the only place where i could find free treatment and subs that are $10 a week without insurance. i have insurance now and subs are $3 a week. I dont wanna leave the place and there isnt much else. Everyone else would be strict. im also sure i couldnt smoke trees anywhere else and get away with it but if i gotta then id quit.

As long as he puts me back on subs then i dont have to worry about him being a quack cuz i only would see him when i request an appt, unless he needs to talk with me.
 
will do. Ill report back monday night after i see my counselor for my individual and then again wednesday after i see doctor fuckstick.
 
My opiate tolerance is basically zero with .05g being a dose that will have me nodding... My question is how long after taking a single 1.5 mg sub will I be able to feel recreational opiates? .. I see a lot of people saying 24 hours to 72 hours depending on chemistry. Since I have little tolerance and only did one 1.5mg I assume that it will take at least 24 hours but not much longer after that. Anyone with experience?
 
ive taken up to 8mg at a time and still got high less then 12 hours later. 1.5 for one go shouldnt block shit for the most part. you could wait like 6-8 hours and then use and i guarentee you should feel it.

1.5mg's is barely a blocking dose. 12-24 hours you'll be fine.
 
for those who use suboxone with no tolerance to get high (such as myself) how long does it take to become ineffective for you?

for me i only do a mg or 2 in this situation and if i do it more than 2, at most 3 days in a row i'm not feeling it much anymore.

Wow. That Dr. is one of the most incompetent addiction doctors I have ever heard of.
