Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ & Megathread v3; 2010 - 2022

With that kind of tolerance it really depends on what kind of subs you get. I was on a 60 mg oxymorphone/day diet for quite some time, and taking half of a suboxone (orange stop sign looking one) made me ok for a full day and a half. Just make sure you are definitely in withdrawal before you take it. You do not want to make the mistake of taking it too early. Once you feel withdrawal coming on, just wait it out a couple hours until it's almost moderate before you take any sort of subs. You don't need to take the whole 8mg at once either. I never did and I had a fairly high tolerance because of what I was taking. Hope that helps.

Now to help you with your problem:

Luckily, your tolerance is not so huge, which means that you can probably maintain, or detox with very little buprenorphine. I recomend starting a sublingual dose of 1mg, 24 hours after your last use of oxycodone. Wait about 2 hours, and if you feel no relief up the dosage another mg. You probably will need 4mg MAX, to keep you out of withdrawals, but 2 mg would probably work to.

Now on the following days your going to want to decrease your dose. Say you took 4 mg day 1. Well, you should try 2 mg day 2, 3mg max.

Day 3:2mg

Day 4:1mg

Day 5:.5

then stay at .5 for two days, drop down to .25, and jump off... or just mainain at .5-1mg
 
Howlong to wait

So ive used suboxone several times recreationally, personally its my favorite high. I was wondering how long to wait after snorting a roxy30mg 13 hours ago (before that roxy I had nothing in my system). Mild to low tolerance. Thanks :)

Are you dependent physically on oxycodone? Meaning do you get dope sick if you were to not take any opiates? If so, you need to be careful dosing suboxone (buprenorphine) after dosing a full agonist such as oxycodone or heroin.

If you are an occasional user taking buprenorphine will not through you into preciptated withdrawals.. I am assuming you fall into this catagory since you claim you have taken suboxone recreationally. Because suboxone has zero recreational value being a partial agonist for the large majority of people once you have developed a decent tolerance.

If you haev a very low opiate tolerance people do report euphoria and stuff from bupe. You have to keep your bupe doses real low.. other wise that high you get will fade away quick. Captain Heroin is the man when it comes to bupe.. he shoots the stuff like microgram amounts and it stays getting him high. Thats the most cost effective high lol.

For me, I couldn't give two shits abotu taking bupe.. I fucking hate it. When I rtansition to buprenorphine from heroin its hell every time. Back in the day wheN i just used to do a few oxys bupe actually worked.. I didnt really get high but it made me feel 100% instantly.. isntead of taking 3 -5 days like it does now.

Even for people physically dependent on oxycodone.. many can get by waiting only 12 hours.. so regardless of your status I want to say you will be ok being that you are at 13 hours. Personally when i did oxy, I would wait about 16 hours and by that point I was deathly ill lol. Heroin I can get by 24-36 hours.. it lasts a bit longer.

Man I do that all the time.. I will take 2mg bupe in the morning and 12 hours later I am getting high on H. THe bupe doesn't block for shit at 2mg.. if anythign it adds to it a little. I get blasted like crazy. Seriously after a week on 4mg bupe daily my tolerance dropped so much.. I shot a single bag of dope and 60mg coke and fucking went straight to heaven!!!
 
you should wait 24 hours to avoid any precipitated withdrawl you would encounter from taking bupe whilst still having high levels of narc in ur system...in ur case u might b able to get away with it sooner, but all in all in generally depends on ur body n how fast u metabolize the drugs
 
since this seems a good thread to get some advice on n i do not want to start another seemingly pointless thread....anyone have an idea how long i gotta wait to get high from dope again?, i took a sub yesterday around 11:30 or 12
 
honestly, you can probably take the suboxone now, as it sounds as if you dont have an opiate habit, but wait the full 24 hours to be sure, or at least just to get the most out of your bupe.

This is not directed at the op, as he/she is new here, but please people, all questions retaining to taking full agonists before or after bupe or vice versa, belong in the suboxone/buprenorphine Megathread
 
Ah thanks. Sorry I should have put more info about the situation. I figured with the half life of oxycodone to be about 4 hours that if I waited 16 hours the roxy would be redused to about 1.9 mg, but im used to the buprenorphine in subutex without the naloxone so I was unsure. Plus its the sublinguil strips so thats new to me. I havent eaten anything, and im kind of a water junkie lol, so I didnt know if metabalism would be a defining factor.
 
well, you're on the money about the oxycodone. i personally just took a mg of suboxone 12 hours after shooting heroin, and I felt only mild discomfort for fifteen minutes.

How long to wait truly depends on the person and their metabolism. You don't have to worry about the naloxone in the suboxone strips, they're inactive however you take them, as buprenorphine has a higher binding affinity to the opiate receptors than naloxone does (therefore, the Bupe blocks the naloxone in a sense). The Naloxone is pretty much put in there as a scare tactic, as well as a way for R&B to keep its patent on suboxone, especially since subutex went generic. (In fact, R&B gave up on subutex, you just get generic buprenorphine hcl)
 
Awesome, I had been reading up on the naloxone but couldnt find a straight answer as to if it would react with the oxycodone still in my system. Im very lucky when it comes to buprenorphine bexause the first time I had taken it was about a year ago and it was the 8mg subutex pills. For my stupidity I should have probably died but instead was blessed with the best and longest feeling ive ever had. Lol. Its funny too because at most I only take roxys 2 times a week and max dosage would be 60 to 90mg.

How much sub did you take? If I take 4mg or less I regularly get high 12 hours or less later. Usually I only take 2mg and 12 hours later I am getting blasted out of this world. It does not take away from the experience at all..it actualyl adds a litlte. The next day my high is not as good as it is the night before when I still have a lil sub in me.

If you are taking 8mg+ you want to wait atleast 24 hours.

If anything is going to cause PW's it is the bupe. Not the nalox

I'm down to like, 1mg of suboxone a day..however, I'm drastically considering using again..of course, I'm still psychically dependent on the bupe.. so I'm wondering If I can almost use the dope to get off of the suboxone..and then just not get restrung out on the dope. Though, it may not work because the amount of days I would need to get off the suboxone, If I spend them just doing H, it's too many days and I'll be wound out on that. Another option is to just get off of the suboxone first..(easier said than done) by itself, just by continuing to ween..and then go back to dope once I'm no longer dependent on anything. Any suggestions on how to proceed if I do make the stupid choice of going back to H?

If stopping an opiate is going to lead to withdrawals you're not going to be able to switch to a different one, and end up with no withdrawals. You might be able to take some dose to make the withdrawals less, but if you're able to take a dose that makes you withdrawal free, you'll end up with withdrawals from that.

Also, it's going to be very hard to stop doing heroin after you start using it to "stop" sub. Besides, how will you know when you're off the sub, and it's not just your feeling sick from h withdrawal, or maybe you're still feeling sub withdrawal this whole time?
 
I suppose I could do it gradually.. with a mix of going back and forth between H and bupe, even though I normally don't like to do that.

So, I know I can't use more than 2-3 days in a row with H, that's when I got strung out in the past..so If I taper down to an even lower .5mg a day bupe.. than stop and use H for 2 days max, I'll still be feeling the effects of withdrawal from the bupe, but it will be lighter because of the 2 days off of it when I was on dope..then, I go back on the bupe at like, .25mg a day for a couple days, switch back to dope for 2 days, the back to bupe and take .0125mg for a couple days..and eventually, I'll be off the bupe and still not strung out on dope. Does my logic make sense or is it only in my head?
 
The fact that youre already planning heroin usage out after having stayed on bupe for so long to avoid heroin usage should speak for itself....

You're just making excuses and justifications. Youre taking a big step backwards, and if you spin it any other way youre only lying to yourself.

This is why i'm not getting off the bupe yet. I know i'll just just start using again. I think you need to tell your doc you're already planning out heroin usage and obviously not ready to stop. Or if youre getting them on your own I think you need to reconsider why you're weening now, because obviously you're not ready.
