Hey Guys!.
Am new here.
Am from the UK (England).
I've been on Subutex for 5 years now. Currently on 1.5mgs having Tapered from 12mgs. Hardly had any problems.
My query is do you have to use a Short-Acting-Opiate to get off sub? is that what this thread is about?. If so then which SAO??????......People always say SAO is not a good idea as it will prolong withdrawals and hardly make a difference.
What comfort meds help withdrawals & PAWS.
How should i taper from 1.5mgs? I got 0.4mgs and 0.2mgs. I got valium, tamezepam, ativan ,zopiclone, trazodone, quinine-sulphate, dihydrocodeine, co-codamol, tramadol. Lofexidine (simmilar to Clonidine). Got prozac too. Would these help with subutex withdrawals? do i even need of any of them if i taper slow and low?. Which of these would be best to use for few weeks and taper off?. Are supplements such as Valerian root and 5htp more better then these i mentioned above?.
Sorry for the questions, its just that i want to be best prepared i can be and i can't seem to find anyone even on the net who has tapered of Subutex/Suboxone/Buprenorphine/Buprenex and stayed clean for 6 months.
Is there hope? which is the best route and what is a good taper and what are good meds or opiates or whatever to use while detoxing from Subutex and few weeks after????????.
Thank you.
This thread is about all things buprenorphine related (ORT, Suboxone, Subutex, Buprenex, etc) and there's a directory to major sub-Suboxone threads, in the 2nd or 3rd post (I forget). Anyways, I would not use a short acting opiate to get off Suboxone, just taper down to < 1mg, and probably < 0.5mg. Good luck! And welcome to Bluelight.
