Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ & Megathread v2; 2010

I just micron filtered an 8mg Subutex tablet in 8ml of water, and used 10 units of the final solution. I mixed it with 3.5mg of hydroxyzine and had the shot.

Comparing it to any other Suboxone shot I have had thus far, I can tell little difference, if any at all. The hydroxyzine boosted the effects, but I don't think this is much different from IVing Suboxone.

I am feeling pretty high, as I normally do.

The only difference from this and my Suboxone solution is that I diluted the Subutex twice as much, maybe this yielded less of a loss in the final product.

Overall as far as I'm concerned, Suboxone and Subutex have the same recreational and medicinal effects when IV'd.

One last interesting note: Suboxone, in half as much water, breaks down much easier than Subutex. I don't know why, but it does.

no, there is a difference for people who have high tolerance. like the dude saying he cant get high cuz he takes 16mg subling. he could get high if he iv'd 2mg of subutex, but couldnt with suboxone. when my tolerance was higher i could tell a difference for sure. now im almost at .5mg a day and i can barely tell the difference between the two

As for your hesitations. Your DOC are opiate(s)and yes the Subo/Tex are as well---(Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic opiate with partial agonist actions at the mu opioid receptor site) as do your DOCs just in a different stronger way. The Narc in either just forget about bc its worthless, no really it is it doesnt do anything. So now you see it (just buprenorphine) as a crutch so to speak, like swapping one opiate/addiction whatever you want to call it for another one just differnet but still the same.? Lots of people most likely see it like that too, and others will not, as were all differnet and drug ab(U)se is for different reasons etc. It comes down to you knowing whats best for your particular situation Opiates got you in to in the 1st place. If you have to use 1 opiate in order for you to Stop using 1(or more) opiates then before, than I'd say go fucking for it with or without the 'crutch' bc at least it is just getting around life with 1 crutch and not 2 for easch arm if you get what I mean. I would rather in the end use suboxone or subutex than dy DOCs as it will be better for you in many ways in the long run(most of the time that is)

the thing I'm most scared of is the medication costing a fortune. I guess I have to remember how much I've been spending on pills. if I can do that, I can spend it on medication to help me get OFF the stuff.

Getting Subs to work better

I first tried Subs about a year ago , and at that time was just doing dope once in a while .............Subs got me really high then .............Over last year ive done dope more and more and was taking Subs to fill in days i couldnt get dope..........(getting subs from friends) NOw i picked up a dope habit ( 5-8bags a day) and i get a script for Subs which i use about 2-4 days a week , depending on if i can cop dope or not ...........
I usually only take 2 mg of sub and it stops me from being sick but i used to take subs and wouldnt even care about dope , id be ok on the subs but more dope i do , harder it gets to stay on subs and feel ok ............Anyone have any advice ? I wish i could go back to when i felt good on subs

Suboxone doesn't work for everyone, if it isn't holding you well at high doses, you may want to try methadone.

Can somebody enlighten me on how one first goes on Suboxone? I went to my doctor,
described my situation and explained I would like to clean up my act a bit and get off
dope. I currently IV 200mg Morphine at a time, once or twice a day. Either that or 30mg
Hydromorphone, (Dilaudid) whatever i can get my hands on that day. SOOO I need to clean
up, this is getting expensive and outrageous and i can barely function when I'm not on
dope. Can't get out of bed, feel really shitty my bones ache, my nose constantly runs,
etc etc.. Oh, and the depression is a real killer too. Anyways he has no problem with
helping me out, though he said he is going on holidays and now is a bad time. He wants me
to come back at the end of the month when he is back in the office. He says I will need
to come into the office every other day, but he did not really outline why. I assume it
is so that he can monitor my progress in some way, like piss test me or see whatever dose
is holding me. Does somebody else have a similar experience when first going on Suboxone?
Or did your dr's simply write you a script for it and send you on your way? If you had to
guess what do you think will happen? I know, I can just wait until my appointment and
find out for myself but I just wondered if anyone out there had a similar experience. I
am in Canada if that makes a difference.

I don't know about Canada but in US you can find plenty of docs who basically write you a sub-script and send you on your way. They are like professional drug dealers though. They don't accept insurance for it and basically I get charged $150 a month for him to take my blood pressure and write me another monthly script. But I'm getting the subs themselves for a deep discount so not too bad. If you type suboxone in google you should be able to go to official suboxone site, type in where you are, and they'll give a list of doctors who can prescribe you suboxone.

no, there is a difference for people who have high tolerance.

With a high tolerance, IV buprenorphine won't give you a rush, so I would rather take it sublingually. That's just my opinion. With a low tolerance, it's one and the same.

If you need 16mg buprenorphine sublingually, I doubt IV buprenorphine will get you all that high in the first place. Just my 2 cents.

I got a 2mg Subtex for rec use, it was pretty big, this time i bought a blister packed 8mg generic subtex, and its about half the size and small and round?! I thought they were ment to be big oval shaped fuckers? Anway im worried about the dosing as 1mg is all i need!

I swear the nalaxone has a higher affinity than the bupe.

I think I'm going to find a dr and start Suboxone. I'm having such a hard time quitting opiates on my own. I have my hesitations because I sometimes see it as a crutch but I'm going to let the dr know I want to do a somewhat quick weening process. I don't want to be on it for long term

Trust me it makes it infinitely easier as it gives you control over your life again. Sure you have to go to a pharmacy but that beats having to score opiates all the time.

For real, going to the pharmacy 1x a month vs going to the dealer in the ghetto 1x every two to three days, obviously 1x a month in a pharmacy wins.

Use a pill cutter and a pill crusher, and divide the 2mg powder into 2 piles, 1mg in each roughly.

Subutex is way smaller than Suboxone.

No, I don't. Can you be very specific, what effects do you get when you try to IV buprenorphine? And as JC asked, are you taking full agonist opiates before hand?

its the 8mg subtex thats tiny! like a little round pill with an 8 on it, smaller than the oval shaped 2mg one i had, worried about dosing as i only need 1-1.5mg, guess just crush as fine as possible then just keep halving.

Yeah,same here...didn't take long before I realized that this "procedure" is the worst one can do ,as in alternating between Subutex and dope ...after a while of doing so Subutex no longer satisfies and then you're in a world of shit.I just had to rethink my priorities and I chose to stay on Buprenorphine for obvious reasons.The advice is very simple,quit alternating between H and Bupre altogether,you may feel rather ill for the first couple of days but after a while you'll feel just fine on Bupre alone.

Maybe the larger pill you had was a generic, and the 8mg is brand name.

Ah thanks, yeah seems fine, measured out approx 2mg and feeling good so far, just wondering how quick does tolereance raise in a week, already did 1mg monday and also 0.5mg tuesday top up, also been doing alot of tramadol this week so im thinking my opiate tolerance may me up slightly?

Yeah your tolerance is up but I don't think you will be bed stricken for weeks or anything. If I were you, and I do this myself alot, save the tramadol for when you run out of the suboxone. You will thank yourself. Good luck.

Subutex and Heroin

I am relatively new to Bluelight and I didn't know exactly where to post this. Here goes: I have been on subutex for about 14 months, 8mg daily. I inject my dose daily. I stopped taking my subutex just under a week ago (a few hours short of 7 full days) and have been using heroin each day since. Usually when I am on subutex and I shoot heroin, I don't feel anything and get a histamine reaction where my skin goes all weird and swells up, which goes away after a few minutes/hours sometimes. My question is: is it possible that because I inject bupenorephine the length of time that I need to wait before being able to get a rush from the heroin increases drastically? Any comments or responses will be greatly appreciated!
