Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ & Megathread v2; 2010

I thought this was pretty interesting:

I had just finished shooting some sub and used a piece of paper towel to wipe clean the spoon of residue. I had no where to put it so I just stuck it into a almost empty can of cherry coke. I turn around and hear really loud sizzling and it's the coke..it's been sizzling non stop (at least 30 minutes so far) very loudly ever since the paper towel went into the can and touched with the soda. Whats up with that? I'm guessing something in the suboxone is reacting with the acid in the soda, but what?

It can be time well spent if you have the right attitude.

Anyway I just wanted to check in with you guys and say whats up. Im doing great im still on suboxone at a mg or 2 a day. I have moved 2 hours from my home town in order to go to college and i dont know a soul its crazy luckily 2 of my roommates smoke so I was able to find some bud its a wierd expereince. Classes start in a few days ao im gonna hit the books and try to maintain on suboxone and pot maybe some booze and benzos occasionaly.

I dunno its weird six months ago I knew I would be dead right now. Anyways I love you all peace.

^^ lol crimson your pretty lucky that your two roomates smoke and got a hook up on your first day their. just dont sell your subs to your roomates :) lol. good luck crimson we can only hope you stay on suboxone and personally I find suboxone to be far superior in all the opiates ive tried from H down to tramadol

your in for a treat my friend, euphoria for 8 hours and pure happiness and bliss atleast it was for me, hopefully its the same for you :) depending on your dose you should have a good time, i used it sublingual for 3 years, now im snorting it because I only need to use one now instead of three saves alot of money and i get more out of it. you might wanna try it if sublingual dosent work for you although if your against putting things up your nose or you think it makes you feel like a junkie again then dont do it :P. good luck law!

that is pretty intresting, maybe something to do with the acidic compounds of the pill, i found this on rxlist.com
"Buprenorphine hydrochloride is a white powder, weakly acidic with limited solubility in water (17 mg/mL). Chemically, buprenorphine is 17-(cyclopropylmethyl)-α-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4,5-epoxy-18,19-dihydro-3-hydroxy-6-methoxy-α-methyl-6,14-ethenomorphinan-7-methanol, hydrochloride [5α,7α(S|]-. Buprenorphine hydrochloride has the molecular formula C29H41NO4 HCI and the molecular weight is 504.10."

so it is weakly acidic so I would probably not drink soda while taking the pill
 
amen to that, i before and after i snort i squeeze some some saline solution into my nose, This question has been nagging me, does the nalaxone get into our bodies more when we snort? or is it destroyed just as much as when we use it sublingually. hopefully its destroyed just as much. if anyone has the answer id love to know.

It doesn't matter because buprenorphine will out compete naloxone for the mu-opioid receptors in your brain.

Ya i know but im just curious, Id rather my receptors not make war with each other :) make agonist love not competitive war ^_^
I dont believe that the nalaxone is metabolised in the nasal membranes. just the same in the nose as it is sublingual so we probably get very little. but if anyone has information on if it does, it would be of interest to me. Hey captain what dose are you at with your bupe?

do you know how much they are going to prescribe you? hopefully you can knock them up to 24mg or if your lucky 32, i get 32 mg, its nice because i have alot to save incase 2012 comes true :P
 
Lol ya i have about 2 months worth of my 32mg bottles and not including the ones im going to use this month, using it nasally is great for your moneys worth and i barley use 1 8mg pill these days. a year ago i did sell some bup for herb but i would reccomend against selling unless you cant afford your next months supply, because you may run out before your next supply or if you lose your prescription and if someone gets caught with it y theyll rat you out and then youll never get subs again. thats my greatest fear and its kept me in line for awhile now. but on the street they fetch a handsome price X-X$ a pill if you look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opiate_comparison youll see suboxone is 40 times more potent than morphine so .25mg of sub will be the same as 10mg of morphine. pretty crazy. so i guess you got pros and cons :). im never going to sell mine ever again.
law your probably be put on 8 mg to start and then just tell them your still having problems holding back your addiction and your getting pains everywhere. ofcourse itll probably be the truth. atleast it was for me.

1mg-2mg per day? thats pretty nice lol if your on 32mg and dont sell them youll probably have to make a house out of all those orange tabs, man 20-25$ lol you must have some rich dope fiends around you or really dumb dope fiends ethier way thatll be pretty nice. a year ago my friend sold me 60 8mg pills for 50 bucks lol i was prescribed on them but that was cheaper then what they cost at the pharmacy.

I am at roughly 28 mcg per shot (ranging from 24 mcg to 28 mcg). It effects me very well. :)

Yeah I am still tapering. However at this point I am using such a small amount per shot I am even wondering if it's worth it to taper even further.

I'm doing really well though, it's just a long and drawn out process to taper in the manner I am. At this point I don't really have WD symptoms anymore. :)
 
I had a question about starting sub. I've been addicted to Norco 10's for the last year or so of my life. My doc recently cut me off, and have been through withdrawls. I'm still fatigued and depressed. I also have intense cravings for it. Will I able to do this treatment since I've already been through withdrawls? I'm also on Zoloft 100mg for depression and it isn't doing shit. Thanks.

My last dose was 7 days ago and I usually took 50mg-80mg daily.

Yes you shoudl definitely be able to get on a suboxone maintanence plan. Just tell them the truth about your addiction, how much you used, and about your cravings, etc....

They probably will only put you on a low dose like 8mg tops a day(actually thats a high dose but in comparison to most other suboxone prescriptions its quite small). Usually people are put on like 12- 32 mg's a day.

You could always just lie and tell them you had a bigger habit than you really did and they will more than likely give you more suboxone, but you should only do that if your looking to be able to save up some pills to have extra....

or....another reason to do that is because once you save up enough pills you can just stop going to the doc to get more scripts cuz you have enough saved up to cover you until you wean off. This is smart cuz it can be VERY expensive to be on a suboxone maintanence plan, with all the doctors visits and prescription costs......it adds up, believe me....even with insurance.
 
It also might help to tell them that that your are still experiencing moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms even though you havent used in over a week....this would suggest to them that you had a big addiction and make them more likely to give you suboxone/or simply a larger dose of suboxone.

So, there's a chance I won't even get suboxone? I don't want to waste $450 and up for the visit..

thats good to hear man, well thats a pretty small amount you probably wouldnt even have any WD symptoms if you quit all together right now(If thats what you want) and if you start getting headache,chills,cold sweats,etc after a couple days you could always go back to your 24mcg-28mcg dose and be WD free in a hour or two. If I were in your shoes that would be hard to do though. just the habit of getting everything prepared is a little euphoric in itself. I guess i could snort orange pixie sticks, and you could IV sunny D but that wouldnt be the same and also have health complications lol. I wish I could taper myself down like you are doing, you got some balls man.
