soboxone question

swim took a oc 40 today and he is going to get soboxone tomarrow. will he be alright taking it?
 
^yep. otherwise if you have a habit wait until you feel your withdrawals initially start to come on until you dose the bupe. please use the search engine next time, you could have found the answer to this in the bupe mega thread. this should have also been posted in there.

You want to wait as long as you can until the WD symptoms are very unpleasant, so that you reduce the likelihood of going into precipitated WD.

I have switched back and forth from short acting opiates and buprenorphine and I have never had a problem to be quite honest. You just have to do the research to find out when to expect the opiate to be mostly out of your body, and you have to perceive it as being so as a way to "be sure" you won't get precipitated WD. If you know WD and your own body well enough you should be able to get it down pretty well.
 
I've never experienced PW and I've certainly done plenty of switching back and forth. That's just me, and I would never recommend others to follow that lead. For me, the antagonist properties of suboxone are minimal.

i would say 24 hours would be sufficient

the paper work i got for suboxone says 24 hours for long acting drugs: like methadone n Oxy ( i assume the paperwork assumes the time release wasnt broken otherwise oxy isnt a long lasting opiates)

and then said 12 hours for shorter drugs like heroin.

i would assume 48-72hours is overkill
 
need help..when to take my suboxone

Yesterday at about 9 pm I did about a gram of heroin..IV..I sould like to know when I can take my suboxone. Its about 1 pm the next day. I know the common answer is to wait until withdrawal, but an estimated time frame will help. Thanks

Do I have permission to make a separate thread looking for anyone who has direct experience with poppy pod dependence and bupe usage? I have asked in this thread and the poppy seed/pod megathread and I have not found anyone with specific experience in this area.

I have read through the threads and fully know the rule of thumb to wait until you are in physical withdrawal (pupils dilated, flu symptoms, etc), but I just want to talk to someone with direct experience with pod dependence, as I know the time frames with pods are different than any other opiate. Thank you.

You could but I would stick to the mega threads. People have the experience, they're just not always online.

Rolls is someone who recently went from PPT to buprenorphine. You can talk to him about it. He's posted in this mega thread.

If you want to talk to someone directly I'd PM Rolls. If you want to make a thread that's OK but it might eventually get merged, locked, or might even get flamed or not even answered either. Just so you know.

I would start with PMing Rolls, or anyone else in the PPT or Suboxone mega threads that have used both.

I haven't taken any opiates in 14 days, are the recreational affects of suboxone worth it if I decide to do an 8 mg sub? I heard they can be used recreationally not really in detail
 
I switch back and forth from Sub to OXy like twice a week... and i only wait usually between 14-16 hours and ive never gone into precipiated withdrawal..

But it does vary on person..

24 hours is more than enough time though...

As far as for the poppy pod question that has been answered... I would treat it just like methadone..

Wait atleast 72 hours after your last pod dosage before taking buprenorphine... But i would wait till wd like everyones saying..

I posted this earlier and got a few respones, but I pretty much knew the answer and just wanted some more opinions. Well at about 6:30 pm I started to get the sweats, not bad, but enough to trick myself into saying f*** this, it' been long enough. I had a small piece of Suboxone that I had broken off from a 8mg Sub a few weeks ago and I didn't want to break up a fresh one, so I tried to break that piece up and just got powder, so I put that under my tongue and it dissolved immediately, so I put some more under, and within 5 minutes I was in withdrawal. I couldn't believe it. This is twice in the past week I did this. Last time I did it the same thing happened, and I bought a 1/2 gram of heroin and was better immediately. So this time I knew what to do. I bought a gram of her and now I'm ok. It' amazing how strong Sub is, you guys would not believe how small of an amount of Sub I took, and still got WD’s from it. So now I have done this twice, and hopefully learned my lesson. The problem is that I have to check in for probation either on Monday or Tuesday, and I definitely will have to take a urine test. This means that I can’t do this again, tonight is the last night I can use the her if I want to pass the test. And I still could be cutting it close, because I have 3-4 days to get this her out of my system. Anyways, the point is..wait..wait...wait until full withdrawal sets in...dont chance it..It’s not worth it.

Besides that, does anyone have any insight on the drug test part of this story? I have to take the test either Monday or Tuesday, and I did a gram of Her tonight. Will I be ok? If not, what should I do?? Any responses will be greatly appreciated..Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

Well it looks like I won't have to PM anyone. Thanks, cire. There's no way in hell I would choose to endure 72 hours just to try some bupe I got for free. Maybe I'll just give it back to my friend.

Don't use a whole 8mg tab, that's way too much. Try 2mg or less.

We don't allow DT questions, but for the record, heroin will have your piss testing positive for at least a week I believe, it may vary depending on how long you've been doing it, etc.

If you knew you had a drug test you should have stuck to Suboxone.

Save it for a rainy day if you can't get pods or any other opiates. They're really useful if you're coming down hard.
