i did my own test on the antagonist effects of sub. - approached a kid on the street that had ripped me off months ago (big habit from ripping folks off i'm guessing) and told him 'no hard feelings - in fact here's the latest thing - stronger than 'xxx' - he took it eagerly and from what i heard he was hurting in a bad way then MIA for quite a few days... also heard that he didn't use the opportunity to stay off. oh wells

oh btw captain h - i agree with you on that - hence the use of 'jokingly'

Gotta love that moment in time right before Karma strikes...

gotcha ;)

I'm sure many people have. They will likely tell you that its hell. I've done it with oxycodone and heroin and I'd like to never feel that again.
Make sure you don't take it too soon and cause precipitated WDs.

cpu fucking up doesn't let you off the hook for asking such a generic & overly answered ?

all of us greenlighters wish we could get our 50 posts in, but come up with something more convincing - especially if you're going to ask it twice & then apologize

3 posts when it wasn't fit for one

bluelight staff - please reconsider the 50 post rule as it seems to inspire people to type even more irrelevant BS posts

on that note, i have like 33 posts to go!

Hey quick question. I've been lightly abusing pain killers for a while now and in the past 6 weeks have been taking methadone almost daily. I decided to quit cold turkey and am asking if anyone knows of any good remedies to deal with the restless leg syndrome you get with withdrawal. Everything else i've got a handle on cuz i've got a script for ativan, but the restlessness has been killing me.

I'm in the same situation, the only solution I've found is taking Unisom at night (a box of the generic is only $4 and the drug in it begins with doxy....sorry I can't think of the rest.
Tylenol PM or anything with dyphenhydramine (sp?) increases the restless leg syndrome in my experience. Benadryl has this too... i think it does this because it dries you out in a way, and the tissues around your muscles are dried out and this causes friction between them.

*edit * Drinking lots of water should help too.

Doxylamine succinate.

My choice anti-histamine as well. Good recommendation.

wtf?

alright - here's a relevant post and question:

who here has been taking sub. for so long it seems to be losing its effects? i've been taking it for nearly 5 years & in the last 5 months i've started sneezing again, yawning more than once a day - sometimes with watery eyes, and gotten nasty bugs (colds & a flu) again.

this is after not sneezing for over 4 years (seriously!) yawning about once a week (never with watery eyes) and absolutely no sickness (the ocassional dopesick symptom after cheating a few times)

also, my 'ceiling' seems to be somewhere around 3 milligrams - i would feel absolutely no difference if i took 16+ mgs!

any similar experiences out there? i'm curious to know what others' experience is after taking it daily for years... thanks

subutex and pregnancy

Hi, I have been on subutex for quite some time but I found out my wife has been taking a couple of my pills every month and deviding them up, she is basically taking like 1/16th of a 8mg pill a day. Yes I was poed but there is more to the story to where that sneaking my medicine was put on the backburner

The problem is that she is pregnant now and is 9 weeks along and we didnt know. The Obgyn that we are stuck with because of medicaid is not exactly understanding and we are kind of afraid to tell her the situation. (she seems very ignorant, especially when it comes to drugs, we are in a small town)

I dont know exactly what to do. Is it such a small amount that it wont affect the baby? or should i wean her down very slowly throughout the pregnancy as long as their is no discomfort?

Everything i read is about women taking at least 4mg and even then half the babies dont experience any withdrawal after birth. Since she is taking less than .5 mg im not exactly sure what to do here.

If anybody has any suggestions id appreciate it, i searched pregnancy and subutex but not much came up

If your Medicaid only covers a shitty doctor that neither of you like, why don't you PAY out of pocket to get a better one?

Were talking about the safety of your unborn child here, man.

well im kind of strapped for cash, Im barely keeping us fed with a roof over our head and other bills. There is no money to pay for a doctor. So unless i want to eliminate a place to stay or food I cant pay a doctor out of pocket. You do realize that tons of Americans are struggling to make ends meet in this current economy right? If I had the money Id love to pay out of pocket for a doctor of my choice. Even though the other ones in this town probably wouldnt be any more open minded. And yes I have a full time job.

While i wasn't taking that high of a dosage, i had been taking subs everyday for about 2 months. Never more than about 6 mg at once, usually around 3-4 mg. but yeah taking more than about 4 mg does not make any difference in my experience.

it sounds like you've just reached the point where your tolerance is so high, there's no where to go but down...just try to taper yourself off of it. Withdrawals will be hell, a benzo and drinking lots of water will help. But if you want to quit opiates for good, or at least decrease your tolerance, you will have to start taking less....

Eeek. I imagine it will all turn out ok in the end and for your baby's long term health (note i am not a doctor at all), but i sure wouldn't want to be guessing my way through at such a sensitive time in the pregnancy. And if I were you I'd be very choosy about any advice from bluelight, i doubt many here are ob/gyn. Imo you need to find some real medical professionals to talk to. If you can't afford an in person consult (it is your baby), there must be some resources on the net where the folks responding would include people with actual medical training.

What about this: http://www.doctorslounge.com/ask.htm - Doctor's lounge, ask a doctor, apparently only verified qualified doctors answer the questions. No idea how/if it's any good but if not search for others?

Perhaps I'm over reacting a bit, I just would worry about the effect of her (and thus your baby) withdrawing from the sub when it's stopped and how much stress it would put on the child. Kids go through much worse and turn out fine I'm sure, I guess I just wouldn't ask bluelight about it.

Also judgemental or not, you're undoubtedly best off if your pre-natal care knows about it. I'd expect an online doctor will end up urging you to tell her, so you're probably putting off the inevitable.

good luck man.

^I strongly agree with the above poster.

Hopefully djsim will chime in here and/or you might want to shoot him a PM. If you aren't familiar with this body of work, he is a moderator here who is a pharmacist and currently training to be a doctor. He may not be able to give you instructions exactly what to do, but he will have more knowledge and understanding on this subject than most of the people around and likely be able to point you in the right direction.

I really wish I had more knowledge and the ability to give you better, more concrete advice but unfortunately I don't and I can't.

I just helped my 2 best friends through their pregnancy (my goddaughter is just over 1 month old now) and I watched them sacrifice EVERYTHING for their child. They were willing to do anything and did not spare any expense to ensure everything was perfect for her.

In the long run, what is a little debt to ensure the health and safety of your child?

I really hope you guys can get through all of this alright and know that there are a lot of people on here willing to support you any way we can (myself included of course). If you ever want to talk, you can PM, IM or email me any time!

PLEASE keep us updated in the thread and take care!

althought you may think that your ceiling dose is 3mg, i truly think your receptors may react more to 4mg, or 6mg, and so on. With me, i'm usually on 8mg daily but when i work my way down to 2mg for a few weeks before i use, i definitely have the physical symptoms of withdrawal. What i think is that even though you don't feel the difference, there is one, and i think you should give 4/6/8 mg a try. good luck.

now a question from me for everyone...
So i've been down to 2mg of sub the last two weeks, and three days ago (72 hours) i stopped taking the subs to use. anyway, i know how to properly chase the dragon without wasting H. today i smoked .3 g of H and felt nothing. i smoked it all in one session. is it pretty common that i can't feel it, that my tolerance is up there so high? and since that didnt work, will an 80 mg oxy work?

hope you BL'ers can reply fast cause i took my tagamet 15 minutes ago and in 45 i'm smashing the oxy up and takin it.

Even though you're female, don't expect anyone to cut you a break in this forum. I should know this because I'm female too.

Hey StaffWriter! Nice to meet you :)

I'm not arrogant and have no problem admitting that my original GUESS about that question was wrong, however if you were paying attention you might have seen that the person above me was referring to me as a guy. I just wanted to clarify that I'm a girl. Something wrong with that?
