More questions about using suboxone to kick opiate addiction

A few words, first and foremost. I am a recent user of these forums and I gotta say you all do a wonderful job. There is a lotta love out there and these discussions have done a lot of good for a lot of people (im proof of that).

Secondly, I am pretty new to posting. I read the rules and ran some searches so forgive me if I am posting incorrectly...

My question is personal but perhaps it can help others as well. I have been hooked and clean from opiates several times now. I have experimented with Vics, Oxy, Morphine and Heroin (never used anything IV though). I have come to the decision (hopefully this time for good) that I want to rid myself of this terrible terrible addiction.

My current state is such: I've just blown through a half a gram of H over the past 4 days. I dont have much trouble switching between opiates so yesterday I kept from withdrawal by taking about 15, 7.5/750 Hydros, and my plan is to slowly taper myself down to 0.

I got a bit of good news though that a friend of mine (who is going through a similar problem) will be able to get a bunch of Suboxone.

I CANNOT BARE to go through withdrawal again, and i am not 100% confident in my ability to taper. My questions is how much suboxone should I need, and how long will i have to take it to get totally clean.

I was told that about 7 pills (dont know the mg) should be ok. Start with 1 during the first day, taking a half more if really needed. Then a half to start the second day and so on taking less and less as needed, but never taking more than the day before.

Is there anyone out there with experience using suboxone, and can I get clean w/o withdrawing in about a week?

I know subox is an opiate but will using it really be easier than tapering on my own? Any advice/personal experience would be greatly appreciated!
 
I've also been clean from opioids for over a year from going onto Suboxone. It took about a week for the withdrawals to completely subside but I was switching over from 3 years of Methadone (including 6 months of tapering down to 30mg) but after about 7 days I didn't experience any withdrawals. It shouldn't take more than a few days of being on Suboxone for your withdrawal symptoms to diminish.

Make sure you give yourself 8-12 hours after your last dose of Heroin before switching over to Suboxone. The reason for this is because, for buprenorphine to work well, you need to take it when your body has low levels of heroin. So, the aim is to take the first dose only when you feel some withdrawal symptoms starting. This tends to be about eight hours after the last dose of heroin, (but longer after the last dose of methadone because of the long half-life). If you take buprenorphine too soon, it can actually cause withdrawal symptoms to suddenly develop.
 
bups?

so i have done almost any drug imaginable. except these so called bups.

my friend said he was going to get a whole bunch of ritalin from germany but ended up canceling it and got bups instead.

i have gathered that bups are an opiate and seeing how i used to slam oxy and heroin i had no use for it.

but he's leading me to believe that bup is some sort of pharm like ritalin just cheaper.

so whats the deal?
 
what? your friend's an idiot. if you mean bupe, as in buprenorphine, it's suboxone or subutex. google it.

^ That makes no sense. If the "bups" are actually the opiate buprenorphine, then not being able to tell the difference between that and ritalin would make a person quite literally retarded. Where does your friend get his information from? Why would he believe opiates and amphetamines are a similar high???
 
yeah i assume he mean "bupe" which is Suboxone (Buprenorphine) AND there's no way its similar to Ritalin cuz bupe is an partial-opiate agnosit/antagonist whic;h is used for gettin people addicted to Oxys/H/ect.. to get off opiates a lil easier or for maintance. Ritalin is a stimulant that has no side effects like bupe other then maybe insomnia that most suboxone users get when they first get on subs, the subs can give u some pretty bad insomnia (even tho u feel good, u just cant sleep well) i still cant sleep well and im on subs but i been takin ambien and/or xanax the past few days to sleep (but im almost out of xanax and ambien) and i've been on subs for a good 6-7months (about 0.5mgs-2mgs a day/or everyother day...im tryin to get off and am tapering)...wish me luck...
 
A few people did tell me they though bupe iv'ed is al lot like coke , so i can see what your friends means with it being like ritalin.

however for a non-tolerant person it won't be anything alike , itccing , nodding , nausea.

oh and bupe might be quite potent as an recreational drug it is greatly inferior to oxycontin or heroin

I was wondering if anybody ever tried taking their suboxone orally?

It seems the more you increase the ba , like snorting , plugging , shooting the worse the side effects from the naloxone get.

I used to love shooting subutex but with suboxone there is no euphoria whatsoever , the best way to take them is as intended.

also msot drugs are more euphoric when taken orally , don't know why but especially with stimulants this is very noticeable but it goes for all drugs , no rush but slower more euphoric effects.

of course the ba is ridiculously low , but i'm thinking if i taper a little 1 mg might hold me also the duration would be longer so more from the day before should still be in my system.

iu shot my subuoxone today and im sick after a few hours which is just weird?! I had a beer maybe this has something to do with it?

^I was pulled over onetime and had a suboxone on me, so I swallowed the whole pill, like 15 mins later I was feeling alright.

I've been on suboxone for about 2 months now, and I stopped. I just hated the taste of it. I've been throwing up everytime I'd put one under my tounge. I wish that they could come out with a new flavor or something. That would make it a hellof alot easyer to take it.
 
Sub question

I know this has been asked a zillion times and i did look through all the threads. I'm kinda curious. I waited 24 hours before i took some subs, i've gone up yo 10mgs and still feel awful. What gives? I'm so tempted to go get some poppy seeds but the subs will block that for another 24 -37 hours, right? Usually Poppy seeds tea hits me pretty good, I'm just wondering if it will make me feel better.

I'm giving up on these subs, they are fricken useless. I don't know how people quit on these things.

I had a smal l emergency and ran out of my meds, so that's why i took my little stash of subs BUT THEY AREN'T HEPING AT ALL. I've taken 10 mgs since this morning and i still feel sicker than a dog. Emotionally i feel ok but not physically. I'm going absolutely nuts

you took them too early , you have to wait till you are really sick , and poppy seed tea seems to have a very long duration almost methadone like , i think it has to do with oripavine which is also a thebaine derivative like buprenorphine (long-half-life)

so don't take any more try to get some sleep and take some tommorow if the wd's are bearable things should get better when the pst alkaloids get out of your body(Like if your not shitting your pants throwing up all over the place)

oh and don't take any pst that would be a really bad idea

p.s you did take them sublingually i hope?


I'm on sub now and although it doesn't get you high there is nothing better for stopping WD's
 
so why would the pst be a bad idea, overdose? I'm making the tea right now. I just can't take it anymore. I'm only going to have a little. I know the subs will block it but maybe enough will get through to stop my main complaint- RLS.

But there is a chance of overdoseing from 10 mgs of subs and than some pst? like i said, just gonna have a little and save the rest for ttomorrow. I have no intentions of taking anymore damn subs, i hate these pills!!!

yes there is a very real risk of overdose since you won't feel any effects from the pst at best or keep the precipitated withdrawal goinf for another 24 hours at worst.

so it will be pointless , wastefull and possibly dangerous


you are really not being very smart i must say and wasting some lifesafers why bother taking them if you had pst in the first place?

I really recommend you wait and slowly up your dose of sub

p.s i overdosed on heroin after taking it too soon after my subutex so i speak from experience
 
Ok, i won't drink it. Your scaring me now! I'll drain it and save it for tomorrow. I don't have enough subs left to keep using them. I'm not on subs to quit, just to keep me well.

I'll try and go lay down for a bit. I won't drink the tea. I'm gonna save it for 24 hours from now. Will be hard to do though

Oh ps... The reason i did the subs instead of poppy seed tea was because i was to damn lazy to go to the store and thought well, this would be a good time to try the subs but i thought they'd work better than this!!!
