So what is pillreports for? Does it have a useful harm-reduction function at all? Having some reports to give a clue is probably better than what I did up till 1994 which was randomly neck whatever pill was available.

Well yeah ofc it has some harm reduction value, but you shouldn't use it exclusively. Plenty of pills on there that have been marked 'mdma high' have turned out bunk when tested. It's more of a rough buying guide, before you test. ime anyway.
